Blizzard has announced Diablo IV's expansion launch date for Vessel of Hatred at the Xbox event during Summer Game Fest!

Diablo IV's expansion releases on October 8 and introduces a ton of new content for the game including a brand new class, Spiritborn, but more on that in a moment.

The expansion takes place in Nahantu, a new jungle region within Diablo IV and is filled with more Dungeons, Strongholds, and of course the demons we love to slay. The expansion takes places immediately after the events of the base game's story and we'll be fighting toi save Neyrelle from Mephisto's grip on her soul.

Followers from Diablo III are making a bit of a return through a new Mercenaries system. New characters can join you on your adventures and not only do they come with their own unique abilities, but they'll also grow in power as they progress. Speaking of abilities, Blizzard has added in "huge updates" for our own characters which include new class skills, paragon boards, legendary glyphs, Tree of Whispers, and more.

A new co-op PvE experience is also being added which allows you and friends to complete objectives and slay a boss in multi-level dungeons. This is considered a "first of its kind" in the Diablo world.

Now, the Spiritborn, Diablo IV's first new class, come from the jungle of Nahantu. They are "battle-hardened" and have "mystical synergies" that are awakened deep in the jungle. More information about the Spiritborn is coming on July 18.
