Been a while since we got an update on this one. In case you missed it, there's a petition to "Stop Destroying Videogames" (basically require devs to leave games in a functional state after the game receives no more updates) currently going on in the European Union. It requires one million signatures in order to be considered by EU bodies, as well as have 7 different countries pass a specific threshold (so you can't have all the signatures from, say, Spain).

Well, the good news is that 7 countries have now passed this threshold: Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, and Sweden, each having between 101 and 136 of the necessary votes.

That's one hurdle that we managed to get over, but we're far from done. The petition still needs a good number of signatures to pass the 1 million requirement, and it's only sitting at about 39.5% completion. If you're an EU citizen and haven't already, go to the official site to sign it, or ask friends and family to do it. The collection period ends on the 31st of July, so there's still time, but we should not rest on our laurels.
