Happy new year, Pokemon trainers! We have exciting news for those of us who enjoy looking at pretty digital cardboard: Pokemon TCG Pocket just launched a new year's event with missions to complete and goodies to collect. The missions are fairly easy for the most part, and the rewards are all pretty good. The event lasts for 7 days, including the day this article goes live.

Here's the breakdown of the missions:

  • Log in -> Special Pikachu card (pictured above).
  • Participate in 1 battle -> Mythical Island pack.
  • Participate in 3 battles -> Mythical Island pack.
  • Use pack stamina to open 5 Mythical Island Booster Packs -> 12 Pack Hourglasses.
  • Wonder Pick 5 times -> Mythical Island pack.
  • Send 5 thanks -> Mythical Island pack.
  • Collect 100 cards -> 12 Pack Hourglasses.

  • Complete 1 of the above missions -> 12 Wonder Hourglasses.
  • Complete 4 of the above missions -> New Year Frame (pictured below).
  • Complete all 7 of the above missions -> 12 Wonder Hourglasses.

The only one that's gonna take a while is the 100 cards one, since that translates to 20 packs. You get 4 from this mission and 14 from the daily packs, so you'll only need to open two more. That said, cards obtained from other means (like Wonder Picks, or even the first mission of this event) also count towards the hundred.

Everything else should be a walk in the park. Since the mission requires stamina and not hourglasses, you can complete that mission with the daily packs the game gives you (just make sure it'd the Mystical Island pack). The Wonder Pick and thanks missions can be completed in tandem, and participating in 3 battles should be fairly quick (you don't need to win).
