Published 3 hours ago by (Updated an hour ago)

A lot happened during the PlayStation State of Play that occurred on June 2, and even more on the Summer Games Fest on June 5, and the Xbox Showcase on June 7. Lots of new games were announced, some new information about existing games like release dates were finally given, and some DLC are even thrown into the mix. With how many new announcements are made, it's easy to become lost in the mix.

That's why we've provided you with this recap of everything that was announced during the June 2 State of Play. You can watch the full video down below if you wish:

You can look at our State of Play tag to see all of the individual articles. Without further ado, here is everything that was announced at the State of Play.

Wolverine

Developer(s): Insomniac Games
Release date: September 15 2026

First announced back in 2021, we finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and Wolverine is coming out soon. We've known about its release date of September 15 2026, but they hid it away in a tiny video. This is the first time that we've known about the date as part of a big reveal, and it's also the first time that we've actually seen proper gameplay of the game.

Rayman Legends Retold

Developer(s): Ubisoft
Release date: October 1 2025

A very surprising one. We're getting a new Rayman game. After the 30th Anniversary collection was launched a couple months ago, there was some speculation, but we knew nothing yet.

But then came Rayman Legends Retold, a 3D remake of the original Rayman Legends from 2013, which incidentally was the last main installment of the franchise.

Legends Retold also marks the first 3D mainline Rayman game since 2003 (Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc).

Magneto, Green Goblin, Dr. Doom, and Carnage for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

Developer(s): Arc System Works
Release date: August 6 2026

It's been a while, but Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is being released on August 6 2026, and we've been told what are probably the final four characters to be added to the roster before release. Magneto, Green Goblin, Dr. Doom, and Carnage are confirmed to be in the game on release.

Bancho the Chef

Developer(s): Mintrocket
Release date: Unknown

From the makers of Dave the Diver comes a standalone prequel game that looks absolutely nothing like the original, but nonetheless is considered part of the story.

Bancho the Chef appears to be a game about cooking and serving seafood. You may very well be diving after all then. We're still not quite sure how it'll play out, but you can wishlist it already.

Kemuri (HUnt The Unseen)

Developer(s): UNSEEN
Release date: 2027 (no specific date)

Note: We're not sure if the name of the game is just "Kemuri" or "Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen". The former is used in the State of Play, while the latter is used in the announcement video.

Kemuri appears to be a Sunset Overdrive type of game, with the video featuring grindable rails and the ability to run up walls.

You are a "Yokai Hunter", which evidentially gives you the ability to flip and do a bunch of cool tricks, but it looks like a game that blends agility into combat.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

Developers: Crystal Dynamics
Release date: February 12 2027

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, the first of two games in a new era of Tomb Raider is coming next year. This was actually announced last year, and the release date of this one has actually been pushed back since it was supposed to come out this year, but we now know the release date of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.

So if you're dying to get back in there as Lara Croft, Legacy of Atlantis releases February 12 2027.

PlayStation 5 version of Dune: Awakening + New Single-Player Mode

Dune: Awakening has proven to be a successful MMO, but the game is finally coming to PlayStation 5 in September of this year.

Not only is it coming to the console though, but the game is also being updated with a new single-player mode at the exact same time as the PlayStation 5 version's release.

Release date: October 2026 (no specific date)

Having been in early access since April 18 2024, No Rest for the Wicked is announced to be entering full release in October 2026, but that's not all, because the launch of the PlayStation 5 version is happening at the same time.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Release date: September 25 2026

Originally revealed during The Game Awards in 2024, Onimusha: Way of the Sword officially has a release date announced: September 25 2026.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve

Developer(s): Bandai Namco
Release date: October 2 2026

It seems too perfect for an Ace Combat game announcement given my avatar for Pride Month, but the stars aligned too perfectly for this one.

The long-awaited new Ace Combat installment is coming soon. So grab your tickets now, because this flight is officially taking off on October 2.

Pre-Order Now, and you can get a digital edition of Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War, which despite the name, was originally released between Ace Combats 5 and 6.

Stuntman: hollywood

Developer(s): Saber Interactive
Release date: Unknown

Perhaps the least expected game that was announced during the entire State of Play. Stuntman of all things is making a comeback. If you're unfamiliar with Stuntman, it was a PlayStation 2 game from 2002 where you drove numerous vehicles to create movie stunts. A fairly niche game, but one with a cult fanbase. In 2007, it received a sequel, Stuntman: Ignition.

Now in 2026, it's making a surprise comeback in Stuntman: Hollywood, with a trailer containing references to The Fast & The Furious, Knight Rider, and Back to the Future.

The game also has a Steam page, marking the very first time a Stuntman game has been released on PC.

Control: Resonant

Developer(s): Remedy Entertainment
Release date: September 24 2026

Control: Resonant was originally revealed at last year's Game Awards, but today is the day that we know the game's release date, which is September 24 2026.

Season 2 of Marathon, "Nightfall" Has Begun

The acclaimed multiple first-person extraction shooter has a major announcement, and one that's happening now.

Runescape: Dragonwilds

Developer(s): Jagex
Release date: September 15 2026

The world of Runescape is officially heading to consoles for the very first time. Runescape: Dragonwilds was originally released for PC on April 15 2025, and is predictably set in the Runescape world of an Ashenfall.

Three new games added to PlayStation 2 Classics Catalogue

Gitaroo Man (June)

A very rare, but nonetheless beloved rhythm game about a boy and his "gitaroo". It was ported to the PSP in 2006, but besides that, this is the first time the original console version of the game has been rereleased in any capacity.

Psi-Ops: The Mindgate COnspiracy (July)

Originally released in 2004, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy is a third-person shooter following Nick Scryer, a secret agent with psychic powers and suffers from amnesia after being kidnapped by psychic terrorists... or something to that effect.

Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams (august)

Perhaps fitting with Onimusha: Way of the Sword releasing soon, the original sixth installment of the Onimusha series from 2006 is being added to the PS2 Classics catalogue. You are Soki, on a quest to stop Hideyoshi Toyotomi from taking over the world with his demon army. I'd tell you more, but I've never actually played the game before. August seems like a good time to do that though.

Until Dawn 2

Developer(s): Firesprite
Release date: 2027 (no specific date)

Back in 2015, the PlayStation 4 was treated with the interactive survival-horror game, Until Dawn, later receiving a PlayStation 5 release in 2024, and a movie in 2025.

Now in 2026, it's back for more with a new sequel game, with a brand new cast and a brand new story.

God of War: Laufey

Developer(s): Santa Monica Studio
Release date: Unknown

The final reveal during the State of Play, and also the longest one was the new God of War game, God of War: Laufey. In the game, you play as Laufey (or "Faye"), the second wife of Kratos. It appears to be the first God of War game that focuses on a character other than Kratos (and no, I'm not counting that obscure mobile game from 2007, no one is).
