Recapping the Summer Games Fest on June 5

June has been the month of new games, with the State of Play on June 2, and the Xbox Showcase on June 7. With so many announcements, there's bound to be a lot of information that gets lost or stuck, so let's recap what we know about the main show at Summer Games Fest in 2026.

So now let's go over what we saw on June 5.


Resident Evil Veronica

Developer(s): Capcom
Release date: 2027 (no specific date)

Announced as the first title at this year's Summer Game Fest, we've got a big one: Resident Evil Veronica!

The game takes place in Paris and is a new version of the 2000 title, Resident Evil - Code Veronica. Claire Redfield made a quick appearance in the short trailer we saw and she looks quite different than what we saw back in the day! Check out some screenshots we took of the game and following, the trailer itself.

Capcom is bringing the experience to PS5, XBOX X|S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2, all next year. That's a big improvement from the Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, GameCube, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 the original was on. I swear that was just yesterday.


Mighty Cuphead Adventure

Cuphead is getting a new title!

Development has begun on a brand new hand-animated video game. Cuphead and friends are going on a fresh adventure, the details of which are a closely guarded secret and they will make an announcement in the future when they are ready. That's not it though.

A small team inside the studio has been working on another title! Yeah, that's two titles currently in development in the Cuphead franchise. Was that on your bingo card?


Gen Atlas

Developer(s): Fumito Ueda
Release date: Unknown

PROJECT: ROBOT has a new name! Fumito Ueda, the creator of Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian, is showcasing his first new game in the last decade.

PROJECT: ROBOT, or now as it is called gen ATLAS, was originally revealed during The Game Awards 2024 though not much was divulged.


Haex

Developer(s): Dead Astronauts
Release date: Unknown

Coming in hot from Dead Astronauts, HAEX is a new sci-fi world with incredibly odd-looking, hostile aliens, first-person shooter gameplay, and some interesting puzzles (?), all arriving in 2027. Check out the official announcement trailer below.


Guild Wars 3

Developer(s): ArenaNet
Release date: Unknown (Closed Beta scheduled for Fall 2027)

Guild Wars 3? You bet! Explore Tyria like never before in ArenaNet's new title, and wow, it looks incredible. The announcement trailer, which what are you waiting for, go watch it now, contains in-engine footage from their internal alpha test and... just watch.


Hot WHeels Infinite RUsh

Developer(s): Milestone
Release date: September 24 2026

Milestone has revealed a new game in the Hot Wheels series and it's open world. Hot Wheels Infinite Rush comes from the same developers who released bothy of the Hot Wheels Unleashed games that came out in recent years.


Palworld Full Release

Developer(s): Pocketpair
Release date: July 10 2026

Pokemon with Guns finally has a release date! Arriving on July 10, Pocketpair has dropped a cinematic trailer to mark the announcement of Palworld's release date. And yes, we are well aware the game is a lot more than just Pokemon with guns, it is quite fun.


Final Fantasy Vii Revelation

Release date: Spring 2027 (no specific date)

Final Fantasy VII is getting its final piece of the remake trilogy next Spring, 2027. Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the third installment and you bet we've got a trailer for it.
