Pokopia Adds Underwater Diving in Free August 2026 Update, Expansion Pass Reveals Bubbly Basin

One of the hottest games this year in the Pokemon universe, Pokopia, is receiving an expansion pass and a free software update!

We are heading into the ocean with the help of Squirtle and a bubble that can surround our head! Ditto hasn't been doing a great job at diving so far in Pokopia, with the time allowed in water being quite low, teleporting you back to the shore after you "drown". It looks like we're finally getting to dive though!

Exploring the ocean floor is a free update for all players who have purchased Pokopia. By using the move Dive, you can plant underwater, build underwater, and create new habitats at depths.

The free update with Dive is arriving in August 2026! That's not all though, the first Pokopia Expansion Pass paid DLC is on the way as well and will introduce a brand new Town, Bubbly Basin.

First Look at Bubbly Basin in Pokopia

New furniture, new outfits, and new Pokemon are all available in Bubbly Basin.

The expansion pass can be purchased on Nintendo eShop and contains 3 major updates to the game.

Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC Details

  • Part 1 will include Bubbly Basin and arrives in August 2026

  • Part 2 adds "additional new features" to Pokopia and arrives "late 2026"

  • Part 3 arrives in 2027 and adds an additional new town to explore

In order to play the Bubbly Basin DLC, you must complete the request in Bleak Beach titled "Raise the environment level!" and you must learn the move Dive from the free software update.

Nintendo has been careful to point out that there will not be a new town added in Part 2 of the expansion pass.
