Palworld Keeps Its $29.99 Price at 1.0 Launch as 'a Small Way of Saying Thank You'

Good news for anyone still on the fence about diving in: Pocketpair has confirmed that Palworld will not raise its price when the survival and crafting game exits early access with its much anticipated 1.0 release, keeping it locked at $29.99 USD. And with the launch here today, the studio dropped a full 27 pages of patch notes (teaser) to go alongside the announcement. Oh yeah!

Why isn't Palworld's price going up for 1.0?

Rather than bumping the cost the way so many games do when they leave early access, Pocketpair says keeping the price steady is a gesture of gratitude to the community that got Palworld this far.

Quote From Palworld

After much thought, we have decided not to raise the price of Palworld following the 1.0 release and will keep it at $29.99. We are incredibly proud of how far Palworld has come. Thanks to the amazing support of our players, it has become a success beyond our wildest dreams.

The team framed the frozen price as "a small way of saying thank you" for the "continued support" the game has received from its very dedicated playerbase.

Isn't a price hike normal when a game leaves early access?

It absolutely is, which is what makes this move stand out. Valheim, for instance, announced it will jump from $20 to $30 when it graduates to 1.0 in September. That's not unreasonable either - the whole point of early access is that you're playing an unpolished, unfinished slice of a game, so the full release arriving in a better state and packed with more content can fairly command a higher price.

By that logic, Palworld would have had every excuse to charge more, especially given those 27 pages of patch notes. That Pocketpair chose to hold the line instead makes the decision all the nicer.

What are you getting for $29.99?

At $30 for everything Palworld offers, this is shaping up to be a proper steal. You get:

  • All the much-loved existing features

  • New additions like the wing pack

  • A batch of new items and Pals

  • That big old World Tree

It's a great way to kick off and celebrate the 1.0 launch - now all that's left is to actually get our hands on it. If you're jumping in, be sure to read our note on how Palworld is warning players to fully remove old mods before 1.0 goes live.

Are you planning to grab Palworld at launch, or have you already logged countless hours in early access? I know I sure have... Let us know in the comments.
