Grinding Gear Games has revealed a fresh batch of quality-of-life improvements heading to Path of Exile 1 with the Curse of the Allflame update this week, and there is a lot here that should make your time a ton smoother. We are always happy to see QoL changes, and this round covers everything from crafting convenience to combat protection.
What quality-of-life changes are coming?
According to Grinding Gear Games, Curse of the Allflame includes a number of improvements aimed at improving your quality of life. A handful of the highlights include:
A Crafting Bench in every town
Most currency and fragment slots in your special stash tabs have been increased
Insect swarms indicating which way to go for Ritual Altars
Protection while channeling Verisium Ore
An inventory for Animate Guardian

As someone who has "enjoyed" the pain of Animate Guardian, this is a god send. I feel as if we didn't have Path of Exile 2 which has so many quality of life features over the original game, Grinding Gear Games wouldn't be going so hard on these improvements. That's not to say that they haven't dropped serious QoL in the past for Path of Exile 1, but Path of Exile 2 gave them a place to test things out and see how players react while not "messing up" the original game.
It's like the colorless gem slots we're getting later this week. I don't believe the playerbase would have been as receptive to it without the massive skill gem changes in Path of Exile 2. I could be wrong of course, but talking amongst other Path of Exile players, we came to the conclusion this would have been making the game easier which, does anyone really play Path of Exile because it's easy?
