You call 1 big unit that is easily removed by a silence, transform or kill effect of any kind massive board presence?
Like the reason why viego is much better is that his mist grows on every summon and can't really be shut down as a strategy.
Tentacles however don't have any removal protection, come in a region without really decent control tools and
Need to be rebuilt whenever they get destroyed. I can see a tentacle deck surviving 1 tentacle getting removed but 2 is proably already bad and 3 being it's death sentence.
Viego's mist is a problem that the opponent only can delay, not solve tentacles can be solved and I therefore think they don't come close to viego's archetype.

So yes big things, aggro things, tempo things, just go go go.
Removal is very expensive in this game relative to your ability to go from 20 - 0
Keep in mind in mtg it cost 1, 2, or 3 mana at most to vengeance.
Here it is 6 freaking mana just to deny a big thing from existing.
With the release of the 3 mana shurima landmark you can guarantee that 4 mana Champs can't even be removed for 6.

Well you haven't been playing the ladder either, because we only have two good aggressive decks right now (Pirate Aggro and Scouts) the rest of the meta is dominated by control (Mono Veigo, Feel the Rush, Caitlyn/Ezreal, Jayce Heimer) and combo/midrange ( Taliyah/Ziggs, Aphelios/Fizz, Pantheon/Yumi, Mono Shurima)

Shurima did introduce a great board wipe in Blighted Ravine, Bandle did come with lot's good ping cards like Pokey Stick and Minimorph which pretty much kicked Lee Sin out of the meta.

I count something like 8 viable aggro decks and yes I am including Viktor, and pantheon who are slightly more combo oriented.
Ezreal catlyn, jayce etc. are getting pooped on.
Mastering runeterra is built by one high tier player by the name of Majin Bae.
His tournament experience setting would favor control in a unrealistic statistical sense where you can just ban aggro on sight.
Can't do that on ladder.
Pantheon an aggro deck... right... and spider aggro is control right? It run vile feast after all and that a control card right?

Youre free to believe whatever stats you want.
But when we cross reference with mobalytics we also see 3 aggro decks with a 60% winrate.
Is that accurate not at all, but assuming that aggro is doing poorly in this meta when the majority of websites rank it highly is just dumb.

It couldn't possible be that slow value oriented cards are bad when compared to instant wincons, like aggro, Combo, and feel the rush.
Like go off meta and try running kegs, or Karma, or Asol, or Vlad, or braum, or garen, or tf, or Nami, or Fizz, or Lux...I can do this all day.

Like seriously there was never a meta in this game were everything is viable and that's the case for every card game out there you need to stop with this dumb argument already.
Aggro being viable is not the same as you claiming that everything is agressive that like saying all the meta decks are control because FTR is one the best decks and let's not get into the Pantheon is an aggro deck because that just destroyed what little credibility you have left.
Sorry are we talking about credibility in the context of a card game?

The most powerful control deck overall is the shadow list I provided for the current meta.
4/5 out of catylyn/ezreal, Overwhelm, and a number of other decks before losing to yoi for their infinite value.
