Everyone's playing control right now so let's play the best control deck and win easily.

Two thing happen in runeterra right now, open attacks for aggro, and stat buffing single units.

The third thing that happens less often is presenting unwinnable board states through ramp or synergies.

So for number 1 there's 6 pings and 3 withering whails so open attacks are useless.

Number 2 we have 3 vengeance and 2 minimorphs so big units are useless.

Number 3 we have 2 ruinations as our oh shit button.

Other then that just do darkness stuff.

Rekindler and mists feels a little too cute I just want happless for the blocks

Has about a 70% winrate in this oppressive meta that is somewhere between awful and perfectly balanced.

Did I build this deck no, but it's literally darkness so these are the "optimal" flex slots someone chose and I agree

I hope everyone plays this deck and then people start realizing, open attack, big dude, big board are linear boring strategies thar can be countered.

  • There are bad matchups, for sure that's the polarizing nature of the meta. But it plays well into catlyn ezreal, into aggro, into midrange. Most of the stuff that people are playing. Then if you find you're quing badly switch to something else.

  • It's pretty obvious to me that this is a tech list.

    Really only good into the play scenarios I outlined above.

    As soon as people start playing decks with non-linear styles darkness falls apart.

    But yeah pantheon, Viktor, aggro, just a lot of the easy lists.

  • Darkness is pretty fun until your run into feel the rush and they ramp into She Who Wanders nuke your entire hand and board and make your revive cards useless. And it doesn't far better against mono Shurima either, but hey it's good into EZ/Cait and Pantheon.
