The main plan is to pump out wins with the Ascendeds, and to make sure that happens reliably against tech like Divergent Paths or Scorched Earth, the deck plays two Sun Discs. This isn't something I'd do if the meta was settled and not hyper focused on a new faction, which I expect it will be at launch.
The primary wincon is definitely Azir and the emperor's deck. However, as a back up, I included a single Sivir to help the smaller followers have a higher impact in combat and give some much needed protection to Azir, who lacks any kind. Rock Hopper and Unraveled Earth are crucial pieces for leveling Renekton, as well as ensuring trades happen for pumping and leveling Nasus. As an aside, Weight of Judgment will probably be a staple in Sivir decks.
So much hinges around your champions, so a full playset of Golden Ambassador seems only natural, especially when it helps leveling Renekton, Nasus, and Sivir. Additionally a single Rite of Calling effectively turns a Sand Soldier into a champion in hand at no real loss of any kind. A great card in that context, but not when it draws nothing, so Golden Ambassador makes more sense to me, especially since you'll want to draw it more often to get that +2/+2 buff.
