Now, the upgradeability of these newer light units is really impressive, but unless you need to do heavy or dangerous work, I recommend you copy into the basic frame as-is for a while, feel it out. I know you said a re-integrator is out of your price range, but you can at least get a second-hand sense of the performance, maybe spring for a sensory package or heavier musculature down the line.
