Path of Exile 2 is introduce new currencies and one of them is Gold! Gold isn't an entirely new concept to Path of Exile though, with the game having a gold playtest in February 2023 through "Ruthless with Gold". Here's what we know so far about Gold in Path of Exile 2.

  • Currency items are not going away.
    • The goal for Gold is to not make it the primary currency players use to trade items.
  • Gold will be primarily used to help you fix your builds.
  • Early on, Gold can help you buy items off of vendors.
  • Selling items gives you Gold.

Path of Exile 2 is still in development, with its beta release slated for June 7, 2024, so it's possible we'll learn more about gold in the near future.
