What is Ranged?

Minis with Ranged can attack enemies from a distance, and unless otherwise specified, can damage aerial or ground minis.

Synergies & Strategies with Ranged

Because they don't need to be close to their targets, Ranged minis can be placed behind a friendly durable Tank to avoid being damaged while they lob their attacks from afar. This is a very effective tactic that has been utilized throughout history, so respect the wisdom of your ancestors and employ it for yourself! Many Ranged minis boast high damage but come with frail bodies, so keeping them away from harm is paramount if you want to be successful. When forced into combat against the more sturdy Melee fighters, they will most likely die; this is reflected in the rock-paper-scissors mentality at the heart of the game. There is the occasional outlier, but in general: Ranged beats Flying, Flying beats Melee, Melee beats Ranged.

"Bombard" is a companion trait for Ranged, although it is a negative one. Bombard minis are basically the same as Ranged...except they cannot damage air units. This usually comes with compensation such as more damage or greater range, but it's still something to keep in mind.
