What is Flying?

Flying minis can...well, they can fly. This prevents Melee enemies from reaching them, but they are vulnerable to Ranged.

Synergies & Strategies with Flying

Why bother fighting toe-to-toe with an opponent when you can just simply rain death from above? Make them fear the skies with Flying minis! The poster child for this strategy is the Blackrock Leader Rend Blackhand, who rides a dragon until it dies and he dismounts. While he lives all friendly Flying minis cost 1 less Gold, making him and his army especially effective against Melee bosses that cannot reach your armada of fliers. Support them with durable Melee troops who can take the brunt of the enemy focus while your fliers pepper them from up high.

Flying minis must be wary of Ranged enemies that can target them: most fliers are not Tanks, and will succumb easily to damage. Their advantage over Melee is so significant that it must be cherished, so take out their Ranged units with Melee fighters or your own Ranged before they can harm the Flying minis. This harkens to the rock-paper-scissors mentality at the heart of the game: Flying beats Melee, Melee beats Ranged, Ranged beats Flying.
