Looks like Kael'thas Sunstrider fuel, but Survival of the Fittest is sightly better target.
Even so, it's a good card, 8 armor + 8 drop for 8 mana is "okish".
By The Holy Light!
Not really sold as yet on this card. Its just a big card with a big effect, but druid usually want to either play Guardian Animals or Exotic Mountseller with a bunch of cheap spells.
Don't think this card will change that, but there may yet be more support for a big spell druid down the line.
Looks decent at first glance but not sure if it will see play.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Reminds me alot of [Hearthstone Card (Moonglade Portal) Not Found]... Better, as the healing will never be wasted and 8-cost minions are usually better for their cost that 6-cost minios. But worse, as it can't heal minions.
I just can't imagine wanting to spend 8 mana for this effect when so many powerful spells exist at similar costs for druid.
I doubt this sees play in a format with so many other payoffs for ramping or spell discounting.
This post is discussing the wild format.
It's a decent big spell, might see play in wild with Spiteful Summoner. Highly double it'll be added to decks in standard though, if you see this card, it'll be discovered or randomly generated.
Pretty amazing card under the right circumstances, like playing Deck of Lunacy and turning all those bombs into 5 mana Cenarion Wards
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
I always try to play big druid in every expansion and if it's good or not it mostly depends on the cards you have to sustain damage, because you will have the other stuff. So this is great.
Not to be offensive, but this just seems like a mega timmy card lol. Like, I don’t see it being run in any deck ever, but in Arena and stuff it is a very good card. Also combos well into the Lunar Eclipse. A side effect of Solar Eclipse being printed is that every spell now needs to either have low impact or cost a lot and this card seems to suffer from it the most
This ain't no place for a hero
Seems bad.. too expensive, but if you cast this card twice.. that's 16 armor + 2 8 drops :D and with kaelthas..
Armor is solid, but there's a lot of variation in 8-drops, and the looming potential of game-losing Octosari. I'm very skeptical that this would see play.
Feels very underwhelming to be honest.I believe this card could actually have an impact if it discovered the minion. But lets not forget, it's an 8 mana random minion on an 8 mana card. For Druids, that's turn 4. So thre's always that highroll chance.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Very interesting card. Though, i wish it was called "Darkmoon portal" instead. (Because it has a portal like effect.) Cenarion Ward can easely be cheated out with Kael'thas Sunstrider. Cenarion Ward can give those kinda druid decks extra survivability because of the armor gained, and it summons an 8 drop.
8 drops are generally really good, but the lowest possible rolls so far are: Heroic Innkeeper, Pit Crocolisk and Jepetto Joybuzz in standard. (Octosari can be good and bad depending on your hand size.) But the absolute god-rolls in standard are: Plagued Protodrake, Gruul, and Arcane Devourer. (Arcane Devourer because your already running plenty of spells.)
In wild the worst rolls are: Bonemare, Grizzled Guardian kinda, and worst of all: Naga Sea Witch. (RIP Game plan.) But the best rolls are: Kel'Thuzad, Charged Devilsaur and Deranged Doctor.
Standard: I predict this will 100% see play in Kael'thas Sunstrider druid, and will add another high/low roll to the deck.
Wild: This will probably fit in Spiteful Summoner druid. I don't think OTK wants this, and it's more than 2.5x more expansive than Gibberling druids most expensive card, so it obviously doesn't want it. Cenarion Ward will probably just be a niche card at best.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Arena card. Nothing less nothing more it seems too...

Solid value, but pretty expensive. Reminds me of the various Portal cards we've seen, most of which have seen plenty of play.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
It seems like it won't see play. Compared to Moonglade Portal, I would rather pay 6 mana for a random 6-drop than 8 mana for a random 8-drop. The 8 Armor doesn't seem like it makes up for the unpredictability. I feel like if you want an 8-drop, you'd just put that 8-drop in your deck instead of this.
It's only really good with Kael'thas, but Druid has better things to do with Kael'thas than summoning a random 8-Cost minion.
8 mana for a random 8-cost minion is bad. You can't plan for it, it probably won't have synergy with your deck, and unless it has an immediate impact on the board spending 8 mana for a single minion is pretty slow. I am not sure if the 8 armor can make this otherwise terrible card playable.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
I think we're going to see a lot of this, especially paired with Solar Eclipse. When you gain 16 Armor, you can afford to spend your turn summoning a pair of do-nothing 8/8 minions.
Totally decent card. And in this current standard meta, Druid can ramp fast enough to make this a viable option.
Perhaps it gets run in certain ramp Druid lists, works super well with Solar Eclipse. It is kind of sad to see such a boring effect on an epic card though.
Very highroll potential. Usually the 8 minion pull is very solid. The best is Hi'reek is not in standard anymore
I can see this being really good or just meh.
Reminds me of a buffed [Hearthstone Card (Ironforged Portal) Not Found].
I don't this will see play unless part of a deck that aims to cheat out big spells. Such a deck would prolly run Lunar Eclipse and the amplifier Solar Eclipse.
I had the same impression at first glance ; not as flexible, but slightly better summon pool
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Solar Eclipse+ this = Wombo Combo
TOTAL CORRUPTION
TOTAL POWAAAAAAA
Only really useful with solareclipse. Not weak, but there better payoffs in druid for Kaelthas shenanigans.

looks good to me you get an 8 drop and some armor sort of like that libram except slightly different since its a random minion and armor so you don't have to be damaged
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
I'm torn on this card. On one hand, it competes with Survival of the Fittest and Overflow in its ideal placement alongside Kael'thas Sunstrider. On the other hand, the armor and stat gain when combined with Solar Eclipse is enough to end the game against aggressive decks. However, I think that Kael'thas Druid decks right now are looking for more early game answers to aggression as they have enough to do in the late game with Survival of the Fittest plays.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Another solid Druid card, but probably too expensive to see play in constructed.
Garbage 8 cost spell. this could give more than 8 armor and it still might not be playable.
Might actually have good use on ramp druid.... so any druid deck
All hail the banshee queen.
Decent with the eclipse.
Eh, but then you wake up and remember that Solar Eclipse can be played before this card... 16 armor, two 8 mana minions, seems good.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Feels like a good spell to run with Kael'Thas but there are other spells that will be better. Is the 8-drop pool still the sweet spot for best value minions that it used to be?
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Random 8-drop for 8. So, no mana discount for the random effect, just 8 armor. Thanks, Natalie Seline, I guess I'll die now.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Nothing special, but the 8 armor makes the randomness palatable. Obvious great target for Solar Eclipse, too.
Welcome to the site!
This plus Solar Eclipse will be nuts
