Master Duel just dropped a big update (literally, it's around 2.5 GB), adding a slew changes to the game. We have some small improvements to the UI, new animations for various staple cards, and a bunch of new cards coming to the game very soon. Let's take a look!
UI Improvements
If there are new notifications, there's a new screen that pops up when you start the game.
The missions tab got a redesign. The mission categories are now on the left side of the screen, with "Login", "DUEL LIVE" and Campaign missions now each having their own category. There's only 1 mission present in the former two, so there's a chance we'll get more missions in these categories.
Last, but not least, the Solo screens got a bit of an update. Now, each mission has a star rating to show how difficult that mission is. There's also an icon that uses your avatar profile, showing you the last mission you clicked on.
New Animations
The following Spells and Traps have received new animations:
- Solemn Judgment
- Lightning Storm
- Skill Drain
- Crossout Designator
- Imperial Order
- Red Reboot
- Harpie's Feather Duster
- Infinite Impermanence
You can check them out in this video from Dzeef:
New Structure Deck
A new structure deck revolving around the Cyber Dragon archetype will be added to the stop starting May 9th. We don't know the full content yet, but the announcement tells us the following cards will be included (Horizon is SR, the others are UR):
New Selection Packs
Also on May 9th, we'll be getting new cards in the game via the Refined Blade Selection Pack. This will introduce the P.U.N.K. and Swordsoul archetypes to the game, as well as give support for the Destiny HERO, Despia, Drytron and Ursarctic archetypes. Again, we don't know the full list, be we do know of the following cards (all UR):
- Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign - Chengying
- Destiny HERO - Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer
- Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Amazing Dragon
- Masquerade the Blazing Dragon
- Lord of the Heavenly Prison
Less exciting is the second Selection Pack, Fusion Potential. This one doesn't add any new cards to the game, instead offering existing ones in a single place. Once more, we don't know the full list, but we have a few card (Predaplant is SR, the rest are UR):
- Dual Avatar - Empowered Kon-Gyo
- Frightfur Chimera
- Ritual Beast Ulti-Gaiapelio
- Predaplant Triphyoverutum
- Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons

Comments
Well, DPE was called, so nice to see it's coming in fairly soon.
Do any of these additions kind of make the banlist make a little more sense or is it still bad?
Also nice Spell/Trap animations
It's hard to say for sure, BODE was a pretty impactful set in the TCG, so even without bans there should be some shakeup for the meta.
Floowandereeze and Swordsoul are competitive archetypes, and Small World makes all sorts of weird stuff viable. Though we probably won't get the entire set in one go, since Floowandereeze wasn't mentioned. It's way more interesting that we get P.U.N.K. this early, which was originally months later, in GRCR.
I also think the new animations are great, especially Imperm! The only weird thing I noticed is that Pot of Extravagance feels like it takes longer to banish now.
