The next few patches are going to contain some animation speedups starting with the 0.9.1 update! Thanks to Riot's Exis for the information.
You can see speed increases with the following animations in the video below.
- Card Drawing

I approve of faster animations. The thing that irks me the most, though, is that (just like in Hearthstone) your timer to finish your turn keeps running even if you can't do anything because an animation is playing. I think that's bad design and hope that Riot can figure out a way to prevent it. The most intuitive solution would be to pause the timer whenever an animation is running, but that might be difficult to implement now with the variable framerates.
Nevertheless, it must be addressed. You should not be punished for leveling up a Champion.
The FPS increase from Patch 0.90 made the game so much more enjoyable, and this won't be any different. I'm really happy that they are still tweaking Look and Feel.

Definitely a step in the right direction.
Very happy for this, the animations didn't need to be as slow as they are IMO. I get they want to show people the cards when they're played, but like a quick flash is fine, and then if you don't know it you can always right-click it. Speeds up the overall pace of the game, which was one of its negatives for me.
