Amazing card, Druids already likes playing spells because of Glowfly Swarm. A similar card to this is Haunting Visions, and it gets used a lot in Shaman, but Nature Studies is cheaper. also Nature Studies says YOUR NEXT SPELL. This means it carries over to your next turn! Very solid card that most likely will get used in most druid decks.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
A very valid card for spell druid because of Kael'thas, but spell druid is not great at time of writing. If this expansion proceeds to make spell druid the best deck ever, please tar-and-feather me.
Has an interesting interaction with thaurissan, but reducing the cost of biology project is probably better.
I would lean on this not seeing play, just because druid isn't a class that really benefits from this kind of card generation.
This post is discussing the wild format.
It's ok I guess, but there's really not much you can... do with it. Idk, decent spell/miracle druid support at least.
I think it's neat since you can trigger all your spellburst effects with just one. It can also discover its self probably so that's something?
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
I love concept and art, but without dedicated support, this card can hardly find room in a deck.
I love cards like these. The thrill of RNG, compensated by a cost reduction to make that expensive card you got stuck with far more playable.
Official Lorekeeper and Spinner of Tavern Tales
Discover is probably the coolest mechanic in the game and I can see this card being used, not only for it, but as a discount as well.

I mean...is 0-mana discover a spell that good at the end of the day? I mean...yeah it is, but is it good enough to use a card slot on?
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
The effect is nice, but I don't see why you would intentionally run this card in your deck instead of a better, more consistent card.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Decent potential. It's effectively 0 mana to get a spell since the cost reduction will cancel out the 1 mana cost of this spell. You don't even need to use the reduction on the card you Discovered, or play the spell on the turn you play this.
Could be good for Kael'thas Druids since it easily makes up for 2 of them 3 spells needed.
Very good for all the Spell Druid plays. Every 1-cost Druid spell and Treant decks are given an extra boost.
This card could be seen in future Ramp Druid decks. It has a solid curve if you play this on turn 1 and then turn 2 Wild Growth. It will be like Wild Growth never got changed at all! Overall, I think this card will fit in the Spell Druid decks with being able to discover other strong cards such as Overgrowth and Savage Roar.
Take my words with a grain of salt. I'm unranked and only play casuals lmao.
Given that Spell Druid is a solid deck right now and only seems to be getting more support, I think this card will definitely see play. An effective 0-mana discover effect is very good, especially when you consider this next to Raven Idol, which also saw good amounts of play almost exclusively for its discover spell effect.
I can see this card being played mostly for the discount effect, since it doesn't seem like a 1 turn only thing. Slapping this on 3 can get you Glowfly Swarm one turn earlier, for example, while maintaining hand and spell size and possibly generating a resource fitting to your match-up.
Is that game breaking? I don't think so, but the board swings coming one turn earlier can definitely catch people off guard.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
This is kind of a great deal for Wild as it will allow Kael'thas to trigger easily.
This seems innocuous until you realize that Druid has a plethora of tricks that can turn that temporary discount into a permanent mana crystal. Wild Growth on turn 2, Overflow on turn 3, Nourish on turn 5... The only card which doesn't work on curve is Breath of Dreams. So, as has already been said, Ramp Druid loves this card.
Spell Druid and Token Druid players can slobber over this, too. BEEEES!!! (for anybody wondering, I've now had to figure out that there are four E's in that spell) can be played on turn 2, Glowfly Swarm on turn 4, and The Forest's Aid on turn 7. Not to mention, y'know, it preserves your hand size, discovers a spell, only costs 1 mana, and can discover itself. Exotic Mountseller's going back to college.
Make no mistake about it, while this looks small, it'll be incredibly impactful.
Better call Thrall!
Just another piece of fodder for Kael'thas and making spell druid more prominent. I'm looking forward to seeing what else this will synergize with when more are disclosed.
I like the idea of the "studies" cycle. Simple discover spells work well with Auctioneer or any other spell matters cards. Cost reduction nice too so you can more reliably play the card you pull.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
Hey there, Primordial Glyph! What are you up to these days? I see you and Haunting Visions had a baby! How cute.
It's a combo of these two cards because the discount is not just this turn, but it's on the next spell you cast, not just on the discovered card. And all three can discover themselves and immediately recast for free to try again.
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
Love it, maybe a bit overpowered, this may be one of the best "discover a spell" cards since the discount is the same as the cost and the discount remains for the rest of the game.
The text reads 'your next spell', not discounting the spell you discovered. So its an easy 2 mana Wild Growth for example. This is just crazy stuff, to be omitted only by embiggen druid.
Otherwise, its just great OTK material, not to mention its basically a cycle card for another spell, which helps out with flexibility.
I mean a 1 mana Druid spell that discovers another Druid spell and discounts it for 1 mana? What a joke! As if there's some meta deck out there that totally relies upon the casting of cheap Druid spells for a win condition...oh wait. I have a feeling I'm going to hate this card but yeah, it's powerful.
Could work just fine with Kael'thas Sunstrider and other cards that support cheap spells. I just hope that the other "Studies" card shows a little more imagination.
Disgustingly good, another card I see getting nerfed. More Discover effects in a class that isn't supposed to specialize in generating resources, and reduced mana cost of the next spell played. Important to note, it's "next spell", not "next spell this turn". Play this on turn 1 and throw out Innervate and Overgrowth on turn 2.
Spell Druid is going to be even better this expansion.
Seems okay, but not great. Cost reduction + discover is always playable, but this is druid we are talking about, which has a mixed bag of spells. Primordial Glyph has a more consistent cardpool, Haunting Visions has a stronger effect and Shadow Visions has the best cardpool to dicover from.
It's nice to see that a deck gets support from several expansions, but I do not see it in anything but spell druid.
Seems pretty decent, given that Raven Idol pretty much was always used to discover the spell anyways. Kael’thas certainly makes this better too
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
Certainly a good card for Spell Druid, but also kind of boring. Its saving grace is that the text reads "Your next spell costs (1) less" (unlike Haunting Visions which is "The next spell you cast this turn") so you can use this as something of a ramp tool for your huge spells by casting it in preparation for your next turn.
Kael'Thas was already seeing a lot of play by Druids early in AoO.
A card that cycles itself to activate a big payoff card like that new 10 mana give all minions in hand, deck and battlefield +4/+4 seems pretty dang strong
Unassuming, but one of those cards you'll see pop up fairly often.
I... don't see this being played much. The primary deck for this should be Spell Druid, and while it gives value generation and lets you curve out Fungal Fortunes on turn 2, I frankly don't believe the current version of Spell Druid will have a place to replace this card.
The main problem of this card is actually Discover. In Spell Druid, you actually want to use card draw to increase the odss of getting Glowfly Swarm. Rising Winds currently fills the similar niche of filling your hand with two more cards, but Winds has versatility of summoning a minion in a pinch, and because of Twinspell, it adds a guaranteed spell to hand.
Maybe after the next rotation, this one could see play in Spell Druid. But now, it's not there yet.
And we obviously don't know the rest of the set, so this could be better as time goes by.
3/5

I already hate this card and the future moments when I'll look at it discovering itself. Insane in a Yogg build.
Elders Scrolls : Legends / Runeterra
Amazingly versatile and slots right in the current best Druid deck, spell Druid. Auto-include in most if not all druid decks.
Looks pretty good. Supports Highlander decks, since you can use it to get another copy of something you want.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Hope they will take the auto-discovery-discounted-option-into-auto-discovery(...)-loop into consideration before it becomes an issue
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Not much to say here, other than that this is a solid Discover card. Druid spells can be nifty in a pinch (buffs and healing are always welcome) and the 1 mana discount on the next one cast is just a bonus. Methinks it'll function somewhat like Raven Idol did in the days of yore.
Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.
Definitely a card that will find its way into many Druid decks for what it offers. And the 1-cost reduction on your next spell can be "banked up" for a few turns as well, providing for a power turn earlier than usual, that is not to be underestimated. Some ppl say that nerf to Fungal Fortunes nearly killed that deck, well, this can help it get back to 2 mana :)

Broken card in a class that have already a deck with Kael'thas Sunstrider. We will see this in all druid deck because is soo strong and so adaptable
So studies is the new thing, ofc this will see play just like its predecessor (like the breaths)
Nature Studies is a solid inclusion in Spell Druid. Helps you get your tempo swing with Glowfly Swarm out a turn earlier and can even find you another Glowfly Swarm. You'll usually find something that helps your game plan off of Nature Studies and it helps you chain spells for Exotic Mountseller.
For glory, honor, and gold!
How does this work with [Ysiel Windsinger]?
If you play this befor Ysiel does the next spell than cost 0 or 1?
And if it is played with Ysiel on the bord can you still play another spell in he same turn?
Discovering a Spell is nice, but the main Reason why People will play this is because of Wild Growth and Overgrowth.

I love this Studies
Simple and nice
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
The best of the studies by far, can make you play fungal fortunes on turn 2 or Overgrowth on turn 3.
INSANE card spell druid can now glowfly swarm on turn 4, or in wild ultimate infestation on turn 10.. or double ramp on turn 3..
I think all the studies should be considered being played as long as you play that card type in your deck..
also this is probably the strongest of all the studies..
the mana cheating in druid is off the charts..
Fits in nicely with the spell theme that is going on right now for druid. I like it.
Not a fan of this one
-=alfi=-
Definitely an auto-include in spell decks, nets you two beasts for cheap with the discount if you can play both spells at once, or allows you to get a discounted finisher for when your board sticks.
It's a flexible card, but Druid has some spells you don't want under just about any circumstance.
really nice card basically making it free to play and can be used in a reactive way
All hail the banshee queen.
Tricky to evaluate. It's a Spellburst trigger, so there's that. It also discounts ANY spell, not just the one you Discover, so it can help get some stuff out. Whether it'll actually work or not is another story.
So powerful
Discover is rarely a bad effect. The mana decrease and being only 1-mana itself means that this will definitely see play. Moreover, it enables combos, but I guess that isn't as relevant anymore since Lightning Bloom exists.
Every studies card seems really strong.
By The Holy Light!
Im excited to try this one out. :D
Thanks to denial, I'm immortal.
Druid is close second as the most spell intensive class right now. This will fit nicely, as long as you don't mind the RNG craping on you once in a while.
Someone will use it as some kind of combo enabler, let's wait and see
I love all these Studies, but I do have a soft spot for this one because it can go infinite, which is silly and ridiculous and makes me want to build a deck meant to take advantage of it. I suppose it makes sense with cards like Gibberling.
Welcome to the site!
Just as solid as the other "studies" cards, druids will make good use of this in several ways.
The studies that will require the most thought process, as it's so easy to play one after the other, and discount the incorrect spells.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Will certainly see play due to the discount portion of it.
