  • Hearthstone's Fire Festival Returns This Week! Datamined Details on the Questline Including a Free Summer Warrior Hero

    Staff Pro

I actually want to write an article about the Mage hero situation badly because their internal ids hit a new milestone with Kael - they ran out of letters for Mages so he is "AA".

    Great job, Blizzard!

  • Untapped Potential Druid

    No amalgam of the deep?

  • Idea for Extra Merc Coins

The news is in: looks like excess coins will re-roll into coins for a random Merc in your collection.

  • That's So Random - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Been waiting for an excuse to use this one for a while.

Note that it can also pull spells from Rogue itself. I figured it made the most sense to include the entirety of each school.

  • Hearthstone Mercenaries in Patch 23.6 - New Special Event, Free Portraits, Excess Coins Exchange System To Be Added Later This Year

Looking forward to the coin exchange system. Thanks to the Out of Cards crew for the update!

  • Hearthstone's Patch 23.6 Expands Recently Played List, In-Game Reporting Coming

reporting is just dumb honestly wtf are they gonna do?  like you already know everyone is gonna be reporting each other through silliness we gonna start censoring people now?

100% crafting golden Kel even if he's terrible.

(Unless he's diamond on the reward track)

Told ya! It was so obvious that the other two Old Gods were coming!

Let's see if the Old Gods team will hold the line. Seems that Y'Shaarj with shadow buddies can be pretty strong. N'Zoth though...

I've recently introduced my girlfriend to the Ace Attorney series, so it inspired me to do something for the newly announced expansion.

I understand this is difficult to balance because it's a pretty new mechanic, but I wanted to try nonetheless.

I went with Undead art because it seems to be the thing for the new expansion, too.

  • New Neutral Minion - Prince Renathal

So, anyone thought of a fun deck for this already? It has synergy with High Priest Thekal and Reno. Highlander Pally? Probably not, but let's try it anyway!

I'm going to guess that quite a few people saw the word "damage" on my card and without fully reading the card, instinctively assumed that the card broke the rules of the comp. Probably affected my score quite a bit. I thought this might happen, but didn't worry about it when the card got good feedback here. Ahh.....

  • That's So Random - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

The name is referring to Moxie Lockspinner, a gnome thief. Not a major character, but still something lol. Keep in mind that the randomness is not limited by class: you might end up with a Woecleaver or a Silver Sword, or maybe just something stupid like Molten Blade.

  • New Neutral Minion - Prince Renathal

    Quote From dapperdog

Its the new baku/genn. The downsides are fairly trivial because some classes simply draws way too well. You can legit just play more draw options and cheaper minions to fill your curve while playing control. That's not impossible certainly.

While I dont think every deck will be playing it I wouldn't be too surprised to see some competitive decks with it, because 10 additional health is really a mountain against burn/aggro decks.

    That ^^^

Also, it's an okay tech card against Mill/Fatigue decklist. Which is an archetype that got some support recently. If a competitive decklist emerge. Renathal will see play too.

  • Hearthstone's Next Expansion is Murder at Castle Nathria - Location Cards, New Cards, Mechanics, and Details Overview

@dapperdog I think you may be misunderstanding Murloc Holmes' ability. I believe he is Envoy of Lazul x3. but you don't need to be right 100% of the time. So, you might miss one, or two, but as long as you guess 1, you will get that card added to your hand. I think his ability is going to actually be REALLY good. Plus, the information he gives. That's 3 cards you are going to get to see in your opponent's hand.

Essentially, I think you guess 3 times, any of the guesses that you are correct, you get that card added to your hand.

  • New Arena Season Begins With a Special Twist - Enter Taverns of Time Once More!

I agree, colossals appear too often, but some power outliers aside this meta is far from the worst and actually quite enjoyable now that some powerful neutrals have seen their appearance rate adjusted. Matt London and his team are doing a good job so far. And even if they weren't I like the fact that Arena is finally getting some attention these days.

Good thing I always buy a new ticket immediattely even though I'm not planning to play necessarily. Made it to 6-2 with hunter be it with a colossal in the deck in the form of Ozumat.

    Congratulations to BloodMefist!

  • New Shaman Spell - Primordial Wave

The problem with this card is that it costs 3 mana which means its never realistically going to make those evolve shaman nightmares come back. Muck pools adequately does that job better than this one.

But when it works it'll likely cause a paroxysm of glee, while your opponent gets stroke from bursting blood vessels.

Honestly, if evolve shaman does come back I wouldn't be too surprised to see this nerfed to 4, because I can distinctly see plenty of hate for this card simply because School Teacher teaches this shit.

He an expert puppeteer, but he also knows how to pull some strings in over places.

"You want Ragnaros to hit that minion? Sure, I can help you with that."

Note that it cannot cause cards to choose illegal targets, so for example it cannot cause an effect like Deadly Shot or Ragnaros to hit one of your own guys, or something like Greybough to apply to an enemy minion. In cases like this, the card will still work as normal.

  • New Shaman Location - Muck Pools

Completely and utterly busted because its basically 0 mana evolve. With Goldshire Gnolls on the prowl you can bet seeing a 10 drop on turn 4 again.

And if nothing else, it upgrades your minions for 0 mana. What's there not to like?

  • New Warrior Location - Sanguine Depths

The main point of the card is that its a 0 mana ping. Basically for 1 mana you get to do this three times and your opponent can't (for now anyway) interact with it.

I think it's hard to want this unless your minions benefit from it as well, via frenzy effects etc. Because dealing 1 damage is nice and all but it'll likely never win you the game or present a threat to the opponent. And you can't even ping your opponent's minions unless it kills them or they will likely kill you.

But all in all, a nice solid card that can get better.

    Competition Theme: That's So Random

What's the most out there competition we could come up with? Something absolutely nobody would see coming, just truly... unexpected?

    • You must create a card which has the word 'random' in its card text
      • We'll also be accepting the word 'randomly', for those interested in choosing targets as such

ChickyChick is after some truly random cards this week, so make sure you put your most creative foot forward for this one!

As always, I can be reached through Discord or here on the site via PM if you have any issues to report.

  • Hearthstone's Next Expansion is Murder at Castle Nathria - Location Cards, New Cards, Mechanics, and Details Overview

Alright, I've always been a sucker for detective themes and gothic castles so this expansion looks incredible to me. The cards though?

Sanguine Depths and Muck Pools as the new card type is interesting simply because it guarantees effects, you dont have to spend mana for them. Looking at their power level, I'd say that they will see play. Because why the hell would they not? Muck pools is basically upgrading your minions for 0 mana. Looking forward to those goldshire gnolls bs already.

Prince Renathal is the new baku/genn. Its almost like an unofficial gameplay revamp because anything that is not aggro (and likely it will include aggro as well) will gladly have 10 extra health and cards because with card draw being what it is today there's no reason to believe the 10 extra cards will be an impediment. People will simply build around that with more card draw, or more cycle. Because why not?

Murloc Holmes is too clunky. Basically three times of Envoy of Lazul and its very likely you'll fk up at least one of them. And the rewards isn't necessarily even that great. It'll see play only as a meme or in murloc decks.

Primordial Wave will be the new most hated card in the game.

I like how the infuse mech work. Particularly because it only procts on friendlies. So we'll see how good it will turn out.

  • New ideas for Puzzles

Seeing how we always get Word Search Puzzles, which tends to be a bit boring by now. How about a different kind of puzzle like:

    1. Crossword Puzzle. More challenging for the brain to find the exact word to put into.

    2. Card Memorize. Do a bit of flipping cards and try to find the same exact pictures (2 for easy, 3 medium) and try to be the fastest. (marking the ranks just like how the score on opening pack works.

And a bit of upgrade to the Word Search Puzzle, maybe the ability to rotate the Puzzle board to make a fresh search point?
