  • Idea for Extra Merc Coins

Ok, so Iksar himself said on his last Q&A recap that they know extra coins on Mercenaries are a porblem and that they are "actively looking at solutions". So, here's my idea: converting them to regular gold (you know, the one you buy packs with).

Now, here's the biggest issue with the idea: what's the right conversion so that HS's economy doesn't completely break down? Well, that's not an easy answer, considering a lot of the resources for the game mode are either through packs, tasks or bounties.

    • Tasks give a total of 1640 coins (for himself + randoms) + 3 packs (when task 7 = equipment, the new mercs give let's say 100 extra coins, rounding up);
    • Packs give mercs, skins and coins. Now, it's not easy to round up an exact number without opening a butload of packs (and I'm not gonna spend money just to know that number), but by looking at the image from the HS wiki and my own experience, you can conclude that no pack gives out more than 5*50 (so 250) coins, unless you have all the skins and open a "duplicate skin", which will be converted to 50/75/100 coins (depending on merc rarity);
    • Bounties give an assortment of coins, depending on the dungeon, but they give out at most... honestly, I couldn't find how much they give and I'm not in the mood to do a Heroic run on Alterac Valley just to check how many coins we get (especially since I don't have that many maxed mercs). So, for the sake of rounding up, I'll say they also give out up to 250 coins.

So, how much gold should we get for the extra coins? I'd say, not that much, just some extra change so your time isn't completely wasted while not being so much you'd run a bot on early game bounties for insane amounts of gold. Which brings me to my proposition: For every 200 extra coins you have of a certain merc, you can redeem X gold, depending on rarity. More specifically, 5G for rare mercs, 10G for epic ones and 20G for legendary mercs.

This way, even if you were to get 250 coins of a certain legendary merc on a Merc Pack, that would be worth the equivalent of 25G: 25% the base cost of a Merc pack, i. e., the same disenchanting to enchanting rate dust has. And also, this change helps with another small inconvenience: ever since the change to the reward track, we've always received gold in multiples of 50, which means you'll always be left with up to 45 "useless" gold leftovers if you don't play arena or duels.

  • The Characters, Themes, and Lore We Might See in Hearthstone's New Voyage to the Sunken City Expansion

They've already said that the 3 expansions of this year (contrary to the Mercenaries theme of last year) would have no connections. So that's not happening, the next 2 expansions will likely have nothing to do with Elemental planes.

As an * to the 3rd idea, they could make it so all existing excess coins get converted into universal coins automatically after the patch goes live.

You'd get universal coins depending on the rarity of the merc that had extra coins, to a 2:1 ratio; for example, 10 coins from a rare merc would become 10 universal coins, that you could trade in for 5 coins for another rare merc. Rarity scaling could use the same logic as what we currently have for merc crafting, or somewhere along those lines. For example, right now you need 500 of a given merc legendary coins to craft that merc; with the system I've outlined above you'd need 1000 extra coins from a random legendary merc in order to be able to craft your chosen legendary merc.

It is one of the myriad reasons I will not be purchasing the bundle. I am not happy with the direction the game is taking. I am not happy with the lack of transparency and communication from Team 5 to the players outside of Battlegrounds. I also don't have $80USD burning a hole in my pocket as of right now and even if I did, the previous points stand and I would prefer to vote with my wallet. The fact the cosmetic is for a class that is bottom-of-the-barrel bad right now is just the real sinker of that deal.

I didn't ask for, let alone demand anything. It's amazing you can see through all my rationale and assume I am demanding the game and cosmetics be catered to my personal whims, though.

Should take that show on a road, you'd make a killing.

Nah, your take is bad and you should feel bad.  PrivateNightmare is 100% correct.  Also, voting with your wallet but still playing the game is ...a laughable take at best.  IF you are so disenfranchised with the game/company: stop playing.  Not purchasing anything but continuing to play the game still gives them player retention metrics which in their eyes is a win.  See Hulk Meme

As for your other "points" (if they can even be called that), wut?  No-one purchases cosmetic/bundles based on their meta presence.  Literally No One.  (Well except for you clearly).  And "lack of communication outside battlegrounds"?  I don't even know where to begin with this.  By "lack of communication" do you mean patches? Because they have been doing that.  Or by lack of communication do you mean "balance changes I don't agree with".  Or, since you are apparently so entitled and narcissistic; perhaps you believe Blizzard should have a direct line of communication to YOU specifically before making any announcements or balance changes?  That's probably it isn't it?

  • Mini-set disappearing from my store

Its right next to the alterac valley pack, beneath all the skins.

If Im not mistaken it used to be featured on the front, but obviously they've been churning out these skins like a halloween convention so its been shifted downwards.

Is there a sub-zone of Nazjatar in WoW where there's lava? I didn't play that expansion myself. Could possibly be part of the maelstrom, but otherwise I can't remember any underwater zones with lava like they showed in the preview.

  • Mini-set disappearing from my store

I just checked my in-game shop and the Mini-Set is still there, I just needed to scroll down a bit - it´s under the new hero portraits and Battlegrounds content. I don´t know how about on mobile devices. Maybe try to restart game? It should be available.

Today im like im gonna buy it and it isnt there. Is there any explanation to why it isnt there? I got few cards from pack from packs earned from rank. Thanks for answers if there gonna be any.

    Quote From TriMay

Disenchanting the card only to re-craft the card again is essentially the same thing as having not disenchanting the card.

Disenchanting the card, using that dust to craft another card, realizing you probably shouldn't have done that as the new card is worse than the nerfed card you just disenchanted, for some players that don't have tens of thousands of extra dust is basically a way of telling the game "I never want to own this card again" as the game also doesn't let you open the card in packs since you owned it previously.

Technically, after collecting all cards from that rarity you can open it again in packs (at random

  • Kazakusan disappearing ?

Ramp druid is 25% of the meta at top legend. Warrior is 5%.

Meaning that in total top legend players face a kazakusan deck once every three games (roughly).

So no, the card hasn't gone anywhere, unfortunately.

  • Hearthstone's Next Expansion is Voyage to the Sunken City

I too base my taste on cosmetics solely around the current meta. Do you also demand refunds for skins if a class gets nerfed?

  • Hearthstone's Next Expansion is Voyage to the Sunken City

See, that is common misconception. Think about it. Let's say they sell the skin on its own and price it at 15$. Everyone who would have previously bought the 80$ bundle will now just buy the skin, meaning they'd only get less than a quarter of what they previously would have.

Not to mention, this also heavily cuts down on their profits from whales. Whales have enough money to buy anything in the game and will do so if they want it. If you now sell this skin seperately the whales will just buy that because the yprobably don't need the extra packs anyways. As a result you now earn about 75% less than you would otherwise. The few players that aren't willing to fork over 80$ for a skin, but would gladly hand out 15 is clearly not enough to warrant a change like this.

I can even confidently say that this is true because if there was data to support that selling skins seperately makes them more money they would have done it ages ago.

Aranna? She's more chill than most DHs, I'll give you that, but she's still Elise's grumpy little sister whose personality is more similar to Illidan's than basically anyone in another class. That's not to say I don't like Aranna - I use her all the time because she's the only DH hero with emotes I don't find intolerably angry - but she's still just DH-lite.

Oh, I should also say I'm not hating on the typical DH personality, since it makes good sense from a lore perspective. It just happens to be the sort of personality I don't like representing me in-game, and the fact the class is very homogeneous by construction doesn't help it.

@Alleria & @allthehype: Thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunately I don't have some of the mercs you suggested (I've maxed out Bru'kan and Guff Runetotem, but I've yet to accumulate enough coins for Malfurion Stormrage lol), and I haven't been using Gruul at all so I'll need to level him up first. I nearly beat Rend Blackhand yesterday with a combination of Xyrella, Varden Dawngrasp, Blademaster Samuro, and some other orcs. What I did was keep buffing up Samuro's attack so he'll always be targeted by Rend's 200 damage ability, then using Whirling Blade on the same turn so he's immune when that 200 damage strikes. Unfortunately I mistimed a freeze by Varden so my Mercs died to a hailstorm of fire from those damn dragons.

But thanks for linking to that guide! I'll get more tips from there.

Beat Rend blackhand easily with diablo. Just a level 3 fire stomp and you're golden.

If you get the passive that deals fire damage for every enemy dead from a fire attack, then its just a OTK on turn 2.

Gotta max out Diablo then. Thanks for the tip!

I found a Rend Blackhand guide by OldGuardian on Youtube, and it looks like I had the right idea with the Samuro + Xyrella tandem, I just had the wrong mercs around them. He beat Rend with a budget team of Samuro, Xyrella, and Cariel as his main three, then Tavish, Millhouse, and Rokara on the bench.

Anyway, I'll update you guys once I've gotten past this obstacle. To keep this thread on topic though, I'm now at Level 159 on the track.

They would all be good, though with humans, draenai and trolls already covered, I think priest would most like a dragon character to use. It's a shame mage got 2 of them in the last 7 months, despite never being nearly as much a dragon class as priest.

It's high time hunter got an actual beast hero too, while rogue has so many themes that the current roster of heroes don't cover it's criminal! Gallywix and Myra Rotspring would be great additions, for example.

As for DH... let's be honest, all DHs are basically the same angry character so I'm not sure what diversity there really is to add there.

Priest a intresting one could be Xala'tath.

Would aslo be first void elf , and warlock has n'zoth so wouldnt be to odd to get her.
