So that's the expansion of which one of a dev claimed that it's "better than your wildest dreams?". I never played WoW, but that theme doesn't them that wild to me, so I'm hoping for a awesome twist in the trailer and some banger card mechanics. This is probably also one of the two "expected" themes for the year that Iksar recently talked about (based on the teaser).
That's assuming it does get nerfed again, and that the nerf won't be another one that's so light that it changes basically nothing.
Ultimately I'm no less fed up of the questlines than I was during UiS, and I don't relish the thought of one of the more egregious ones continuing to be at the centre of its respective class.
To be fair Pirate Warrior in Standard is pretty garbage without further support and in Wild it's only a positive if it gets more busted support because that means it'll get nerfed again.
It's all fun and games until we realise this probably means more pirates in warrior and yet another mage skin for the pre-order (I'm looking at you Azshara).
I'm so unimaginably happy, I've wanted an ocean-themed expansion for years (remember back when the firs teaser for Rastakhan's Rumble was released and people thought it would have been a pirate-themed expansion because of a fake leak? I never lost hope).
There's so much potential with this, so many aquatic Beasts that can be used in Druid and Hunter, Murlocs for Shaman and Paladin, Pirates for Rogue and Warrior, and even Elementals (idk what else hangs around down there).
Now I believe all the hype from the devs about this being their favourite expansion.
Hey, this doesn't look like Pandaria and Monk class. (Joking)
More than expect that Naga will be the next tribe coming. For characters, I know Azshara will come. You cannot have her left out(Mage). Another one would be the Spear Battlemaiden. She was a part of the questline back in Cata in Vashj'ir. She was suppose to also appear in the Throne of Tides raid, but that raid was scrapped. Afaik, she is missing to this day as I quit in WoD. Anyways, I expect her to be a Warrior card. Ozumat, maybe? The fish of N'Zoth and N'Zoth should be around, too. Oh, and Murlocs. Both Naga and Murlocs tend to fight and are usually enslaved by the Naga.
And Neptulon for shaman, escpailyl if ozumat is aslo in
I'm quite glad that we're not getting Monk, which is perfectly inline with what Dean had said last year in a Q&A.
After seeing how implementation of a new class (demon hunter) went throw, any plans on putting another new one in the game, in the nearest future? :)
Purely from a player-metrics perspective, it seems like DH was successful. I say *seems* because there are a lot of variables. Hard to understand if success was because players love having a new class, because there was a higher marketing spend during that time window, etc. (Source)
But overall, our team is positive on it and will probably do it again. It's just not something you want to be doing every year. We've talked about Death Knight, Monk, or even the idea of inventing something new. (Source)
There is no new-class in development today and we work about a year ahead of schedule, so I wouldn't look out for it anytime soon. We set up a lot of the infrastructure for adding a new class the first time around, though, so the turnaround would be a little easier. (Source)
I fully expect to see Pandaria next year though alongside Monks. They're just messing with us right now when they reference it because that's what they're working on and has been approved.
I don't know, I think with enough effort you can put together a decent analysis of both and come to some conclusions on who wins with different amounts of them around (at least at a broad archetype level). I think combo wins overall when both are common since both expedite reaching their big turn.
Aggro and control have more complex relationships with them: aggro loves endless resources it can vomit onto the board (which is awful design in current HS imo) but probably prefers mana cheat didn't exist since they don't really need it and it mostly helps slower decks catch up; while control can easily end up overdrawing, but doesn't necessarily want mana cheat around to resolve that since they essentially want games to be slowed down, not sped up.
Overall I agree you can't just hone in on one of them and expect to get a nice answer, but they are not so closely tied together that such an approach is hopeless.

Hearthstone's Next Expansion is Voyage to the Sunken City
So soon? That seems a bit quick considering that the last N'zoth is just about rotating out of standard.

Blood Magic
My first thought was to play The Demon Seed, but then I realized you couldn't play Tamsin until turn 5, and you'd be dead by turn 1.
