  • Our Top 5 Picks for Card Nerf Reverts During This Year’s Hearthstone Set Rotation

May revert nerfs of Naga Sea Wtch (cost 6), Crabrider, Kael'Thas (spells cost 0, still 7 mana), Illucia (still 3 Mana, read Battlecry: Swap hands and decks with your opponent until your next turn), Level up and Priestess of Fury?

You say that now, until you have to deal with unnerfed skull and actual good Demon Hunter cards in the future. Better safe than sorry.

I think its a term for decks that mainly play cards that increases your opponent's card cost, like Nerub'ar Weblord and Far Watch Post. Admitably this is a rather fun archetype in duels, where paladin can just keep reviving these stuff out.

Honestly, if nerubar weblord, loatheb, and mindbreaker was in standard you'd legit have a paladin that does nothing but prevent your opponent from playing.

Ok I feel noob now 😅 I'm not familiar with the "Tax" Archetypes mentioned, like Tax Paladin and Tax Aggro DH. Maybe I'm being silly, but would appreciate an explanation, thanks.

  • The Cards We're NOT Going to Miss When Scholomance Academy Rotates

Definitely one of the most influential expansions ever, and my personal favorite. I get why a lot of people hate it (most of its cards are major meta players even to this day), but I just think it has some of the most creative design that the game has seen, such as Lorekeeper Polkelt, Sphere of Sapience, the Soul Fragments package in DH, Jandice Barov, Mindrender Illucia, Secret Passage, Instructor Fireheart, Rattlegore, and even Transfer Student

I enjoyed playing so many cards from this expansion. I'll definitely miss it in standard.

  • Should I include Lorekeeper Polkelt in my shadow raza priest?

     Quote From HuntardHuntard

Raza Priest used to be a personal favorite of mine before it couldn't keep up anymore. Definetely going to try it again, adapted to the current meta. Can't imagine it ever beating a Druid or Shaman though.

Yeah I personally like my list so far. The addition of Voidtouched Attendant is actually pretty good and allows for more flexibility and/or damage dealt when you don't have all your other pieces in place. Have won quite a couple of matches because of that flexibility. Actually shaman and druid are indeed not the best matchups (the moment druid pulls it's infinite armor combo and you couldn't stall it with rat you are death, same for Shaman). In those matchups play (as much as possible) as agro, ignoring as much as possible face damage they deal to you. It's winnable, but depends on the draw of both sides and can be difficult.

I suggest removing Soul Mirror. Having few cards between the highest cost card in your deck and Reno Jackson is very important when you run Polkelt. It essentially puts you turn timer before a full heal against aggro

Yeah I did remove soul mirror although it felt good to have it. Polkelt will indeed draw you reno in (at least) 3 turns and foldring tutors reno the moment it gets killed, both making good tutor's. Actually dealing with heavy agro is not too bad with the decklist as mind spike allows you to keep some control over the board while stalling with the other cards. Probably a couple of different ways to go with the list, but I like this so far.

and I doubt the average wild player will see it coming as it has been over a year since Raza Priest has been viable.

Well I actually feel this makes the climb a lot easier as people assume a different play style, especially when they see mind spike t1. After 2 years I had to get used a couple of days to the new cards (honestly the power creep is ridiculous, who thought giving pirate warrior this much draw was a good idea is an idiot ;-))  But most wild players I encounter (except for shudderwock shaman) seem to play with last 2 years of cards mostly so them getting used to me is more difficult than vice-versa I guess ;-)

If you start playing raza priest let me know what list you will use, curious about it :)

EDIT: just had the most frustrating game where literally my pokelt, foldring and raza (in that order) were my bottom 3 cards and it costed me the game. But that's rng for you haha (had some games were pokelt has helped certainly)

  • What Wild Content Do You Want To See?

I'd like to merge two of the ideas mentioned above. I see where BasilAnguis is coming from when they ask for meta decks. Even as a player who reaches Legend in wild whenever I really commit to it, it's not easy to stay up to date with all the top tier lists. Then again, while your usual deck guides are great work, they don't offer much for experienced players other than the lists themselves. What would really help me improve my game would be not only showcasing a meta deck like you already do, but combining this with HuntardHuntard's suggestion of a detailed look into a replay. Which card(s) did you mulligan and why? Which cards to play, when to Hero Power, do you go tall or wide, do you hold back resources or commit fully, maybe even a little insight into hand reading. I know that's a lot of work but well you were asking what we'd like to see :P

  • Should I include Lorekeeper Polkelt in my shadow raza priest?

    Quote From Swizard

Yes definitely, he is very strong to put your main combo pieces and Reno Jackson on top. I’d take out Soul Mirror to include him.

THanks for the reply, I'm testing him out and let's see how it goes. First couple of matches I was a bit unlucky with him (starting in my opening hand is not ideal as you don't want this before t8 typically. But let's see how it continues. I am wondering if I should keep Fordring in, but on the other hand it's a certain Reno pull, which should be able to save you t5/6 from agro...

Will update this once I got some more info out

I would be saying the same thing if wild Demon Hunter is not 6 feet under the other classes. IMO They need Skull of Gul'dan unnerf in order to even have a slight hope to be competitive in wild.

Glad you liked that. Nirast came up with the idea and I'm glad we were able to execute it in time to get this article up. Expect stuff like this moving forward when it makes sense, and if you want the other collage profile headers, you can find them in the shop.

And for anyone that buys all the headers before claiming their freebie, you'll be refunded 100 Gold, the price of the header you chose here.

I used to enjoy playing a Metamorphosis DH, but after it changed to only dealing 4 damage the combo became a little harder to pull off if your opponent gained basically any armor and you weren't able to constantly chip away at it.  It was mildly successful, setting up either a TTK or pulling off an OTK of 40 damage max (one or two turn depending on what cost reductions you got, often full combo was two turns because I had to set up Metamorphosis the turn prior).  If Metamorphosis, Skull of Guldan, and Lorekeeper all got unnerfed, I could potentially see this deck working again due to getting key expensive pieces reduced in cost sooner in the game (if playing Lorekeeper on curve at 4) reaching the combo turn faster.

Admittedly, the combo win was always pretty rare though.  I had to play for tempo while waiting to set up the combo pieces, and could often win with only 20 damage.  Used things like Clockwork Automaton to increase damage, Garrison Commander for using Meta HP twice in a turn.  If for any reason you wanted to reshuffle your cards after playing Polkelt, use a card that shuffles soul fragments.  I enjoyed it for a while, but yeah... the nerfs to benefit Standard really hurt DH in Wild.  I'm hoping a lot of the rotating cards see reverts as well to maybe make it more viable.  Right now all I usually play in Wild DH is Odd.  And with Druids gaining a shit ton of armor, or big priests with giant taunts, etc, the archetype isn't great!

God, I want Crabrider to be unnerfed. I do not care if it would be healthy or not, I just want to play Tax Pally again.

I agree with all you said.

  • Out of Cards Wild Tournaments - Would you be interested?

Yeah, I might be interested in this. I won't be in it to win it as I usually don't really feel like queuing up tier 1 decks, but just for fun should be as good of a reason as any other. I play on EU.

Whether it's conquest or last hero standing or something else, open or closed decklists, I don't really mind.

Prestor's Pyrospawn is quite a minion for sure. Really strong anti-DS tech, that is actually a dragon itself, so it has plenty of synergy with your comp, unlike Ghoul. And similarly to Juggler or Mechanotank, can provide a lot of DPS during midgame.
