If the opinion of the theme-suggester matters, I’d be inclined to say it doesn’t count unfortunately. I pictured the card as actually raising the cost of cards and turning them red, not having the option to spend additional mana. By the way, I also didn’t mean for cards that raise costs in both sides to count, a lá Mana Wraith

Well...damn. I kinda figured, as Demon had already told me No on Discord. I will come up with something else.

DestroyerR - As Sinti noted, I don't think anyone would ever play it as a Mage minion. The stats aren't worth it at all, and the Mage cares about the cost of cards in its hand; your opponent would simply kill and rekill this over and over until your hand is worthless.

BloodMefist - I like that it switches around; that's a neat feature. I'm concerned that someone would find a way to abuse the fact that it starts as Shadow, like with Mind Blast and Void Shard: play this during an OTK turn (after reducing its cost with Insight?) and just utilize the Shadow cost reduction without any care for the switching part.

Wailor - I would very much not have it increase the cost of all cards in-hand, like the Epic version: that's just awful. The Rare version seems good-to-go.

anchorm4n - I honestly don't think you'll be able to fit the "up to 10" part without sacrificing something else to make room, so I say screw it. You're good-to-go otherwise :)

R - With the existence of Tour Guide I just don't think this should be a Start of Game effect. Battlecry, sure, but Tour Guide just blows the requirement out of the water and defeats the point.

BasilAnguis - I like that it promotes decision-making: the more productive your turn, the more expensive it becomes (and thus harder to refill). That being said I don't think others will appreciate that as much, and it just kind of feels wrong to have a Rogue card that becomes harder to use.

Wailor (again) - The flavor of Mythmaker is awesome…it's just that the actual effect is suspect. Most 1-Cost minions are not impactful enough with their effects to warrant being 10/10/10s. I think maybe you could win off the idea alone, if people don't think about it too much, but it's hard to say. Desperate Shot annoys me because it would go right into a "dump my hand and win the game" Hunter deck to remove a Taunt.

  • Cloneball!

It happened 7 times before... those 7 times were not this week though...

  • Cloneball!

Returns this week, for the eighth time

  • Cloneball!

What does the title mean by "The Eighth Time This Week"?

  • Cloneball!

Your best strategy is to mulligan for multiple copies of the same minion, hopefully in the 4-7 mana range. Basically, you want to get on the board early with chunky minions and overwhelm your opponent.

In my opinion, this is one of the worst Brawls, because there's very little space for player skill. One of the players usually ends up with a hand of garbage legendaries and promptly loses. On the good side, matches are short.

    How do you balance this?

Why would you play this lol. Maybe if it was a 5/5 or something :D

Maybe it wasnt exciting overall, but it did bring some good cards and Rush was one of the biggest stepping stones in the future design since that point and allowed to make some more exciting cards since :)

  • The Final Nozdormu Day of 2021 in the Hearthstone Tavern - Speedy Dragon Joins Our Decks to Fight for Honor

I wonder why I even bother with other decks. The Nozdormu Face Hunter that I haven’t changed since Forged in the Barrens just won me three ladder games for the second month in a row. One of them was against a Nozdormu opponent. Best of all, all three were 40 Honor kills.

Competitive games tend to bring the worse out of some. Its just a human emotion. But I dont like the idea of repercussions for meaningless words or actions of which any serious person would just easily ignore. Especially because we know very well that the report button would easily be abused, and it puts our accounts at the mercy of some community manager etc who would likely be monitoring these things. Sometimes when I get rng-ed to death I would use the 'wow' emote, of which some person might take offense at and report my arse. I wouldn't like the idea of getting a ban from that, and then losing days of productivity appealing it off.

If there was a 30 min cooldown to invite someone you've just faced, its enough to cool heads or sometimes prompt some self-reflection. That's more positive to me than implementing punishments.

Agreed.  If someone is still angry after 30 minutes or even remember the details of the game that's going to be surprising.  I think that if someone rage-adds someone and throws out explicitives or racial slurs, sure that should be a "warning: this community does not tolerate verbal harrasment" kind of thing.  Once someone gets a 12 hour ban from their behavior, they will do 1 of 2 things:  A) Change their behavior, because they realize their current behavior has consequences or B) leave the game because they don't want to change.)

Either of those is a win-win for the community.

    Quote From Tumbleweedovski

Auto-squelch could happen. Just do it already, please! I know they've said the game feels more immersive without it, but to me it's only more immersive in a negative way.

Not decrying your opinion, but I've never seen a single streamer (granted I don't watch a ton except for Regis/Kibler/Kripp/and a few others) request auto squelch.  Generally they don't care if the opponent emotes occassionally, and if they opponent becomes overly "vocal", they just squelch them.

Not to mention but the game has a built in timer feature for emotes anyways.  After using like 3 or 4 emotes in a row, the game times out your use of emotes for something like 30-60 seconds.

This just seems like low-hanging fruit.  I know there is no harm in adding this feature, but you gotta remember that time spent on a largely unnecessary feature (that technically already exists, you just have to manually click) is time not spent on other QoL features.

  • Dean Ayala's Hearthstone Q&A #36 - Battlegrounds Streamer Reveals, Long-Term Plan for Tavern Brawl, Auto-squelch

I agree, but I am just saying that even if this somehow (though not likely) became a paid for feature I will even consider paying for it (only for a reasonable price of course) which means it is very high on my list of things I really want (need) inside the game 😄

Please don't bring back reborn, it was a pain to play against.

Reborn is just a weaker version of "Deathrattle: Resummon a copy of this minion"

That's like saying it's hard to play around Cairne Bloodhoof.  Except reborn is strictly weaker than that particular effect since the minion only comes back with 1 health.  Reborn was a fantastic mechanic because it allowed the development team to essentially create a deathrattle type minion, with multiple deathrattles without the player being confused.

Take Khartut Defender.  It was an excellent designed card that allowed life gain through two different ways, The deathrattle, and the taunt.  However a card like that is still strong at 5 mana.  By putting it to 6 mana, and giving it reborn,  they were able to balance it's cost effectiveness with it's tempo in the game at turn 6 or higher.

It would have been weird if it said "Deathrattle: Restore 3 health to your hero.  Deathrattle: Resummon this with 1 health".

  • Dean Ayala's Hearthstone Q&A #36 - Battlegrounds Streamer Reveals, Long-Term Plan for Tavern Brawl, Auto-squelch

Highly doubt Blizzard would force players to pay for a QoL feature. Only downside to auto-sqelch is it removes the new voice lines from hero portraits and hero cards. And for hero portraits, the voice lines are one of the main reasons you buy it.

  • Blizzard Confirms There Will be No Hearthstone Balance Changes This Week - World Championship This Weekend

I totally agree with the thorough breakdown above, great depiction of the culprits of the current meta.

One might think that Blizzard by having hired professional players would prevent or at least reduce the times these broken early drop minions like Irondeep Trogg get introduced into the game. Not my opinion, but a more negative hypothesis could even be that this was somewhat intentional.

Having been on the receiving end multiple times, I can imagine how frustrating it might be for fellow players in the same situation and especially if they are seriously attempting to climb the ranked ladder all the way to Legend. Personally, I already reached my desired monthly plateau of Diamond 5 and now I only care about completing the new XP achievements (which are still broken).

imagine calling cthun and jaraxus trash

Jaraxxus is pretty garbage, but I think C’thun is not considered a good pick because while he is able to get consistent top 4s, he can get blown out easily by a lot of different heroes, especially the S-tier ones which can abuse tokens and easily get 3-4 six drops by like turn 7

  • Dean Ayala's Hearthstone Q&A #36 - Battlegrounds Streamer Reveals, Long-Term Plan for Tavern Brawl, Auto-squelch

This option should have been implemented from day one IMO. Even if they would release auto-squelch as a paid feature, I would still purchase it. Not trying to give them ridiculous ideas though.

Twinspell is already being reused with First Flame the same way echo is being reused with Witch's Brew and Full-Blown Evil, I imagine them continuing this trend. Please don't bring back reborn, it was a pain to play against.

Yeah, WW isn't one of the sets that I would have thought was 'low excitement' (though I am a low sample size of 1 :P). Between 18 new odd/even decks (they were exciting before we grew to loathe some of them!), Shudderwock, Tess and the long-overdue introduction of rush, WW did an awful lot more to excite me than any recent expansion has.

  • The Scariest Mobalytics Decks

    Let me see:

Dragon decks can be tricky since they can get rid of yasuo and have tricks to stop my deck in combat

    Heimerdinger gets sliced into pieces

Lurks all have 2 hp and hardly any tricks. Yasuo and Kennen love that.

Deep really depens on how early you hit Fae Bladetwirler: if you hit her until turn 4 you should get deep dead in time

Ahri really gets wrecked by stuns and recalls on the unit next to her- next.

Rumble needs answers? Ionias has them.

Xerath decks? I hardly ever have seen them and when I sah them they were quite mediocre not sure what to think about them

Shadows has been busy so I haven't gotten a totally-official ruling, meaning I'm gonna go ahead and post this anyway:

Would you say this counts; yay or nay? I think it's a cool card because you can play it straight-up with Wildheart Guff, or "combo" with Pathmaker and/or Pride Seeker. And, of course, you can simply pay the base amount for a slightly-cheaper The Forest's Aid, meaning it's not totally useless if you generate the card outside the ideal use-case.

If the opinion of the theme-suggester matters, I’d be inclined to say it doesn’t count unfortunately. I pictured the card as actually raising the cost of cards and turning them red, not having the option to spend additional mana. Holy sh*t, I know I'm in the minority but I've been waiting for this since I started playing years ago.

I've been waiting for auto-squelch to be included in the game basically since it came out, hope they put it in soon.
