Its probably canceled less because of the ongoing controversy and more because they haven't much to give us. Diablo 4, overwatch 2, another hearthstone expansion. What else is there that we don't know already? If Im not mistaken overwatch 2 is slated at late 2022 and diablo 4 wont be out until at least 2023 or further.
There are like 1000 things that need fixing (I think the game has portential but it's way too green) but good to know that Blizzard has its priorities right.
I was offered 300 Garrosh coins for $10, and 300 Sylvanas coins for $10, literally double the cost of what you were offered. I hope that's a typo on your part, 'cause otherwise I might be pissed. They're punishing me for owning all the Mercs :(
Which will all get a pass from me, as I like to live that F2P life. And the shop's "new" icon doesn't leave unless I click each item, so I've learned to ignore it.
makes sense that they do not want to do a blizzcon or any other community events at the moment with the ongoing investigations and the bad press they have. the blizzcon would not be about their products but damage control . Also most questions would/could not be answered due to ongoing lawsuits.
i am just afraid they will overdo the corrections like all the tv shows / movies currently seems to do. any teenagers watching them would think being straight white is a minority.
"The levels of player participation are steadily rising, so the slots are closing pretty fast! But do not worry! If the four available groves close before the weekend, we will probably open one or two new ones for everyone to join! Just remember that this is a druid Vs druid tournamentto conclude the best druid out of druids! Check 121gameon site directly!
GROVE A (CLOSED 4/4) 12:00
GROVE B (CLOSED 4/4) 16:00
GROVE C (open 3/4) 20:00
GROVE D (open 2/4) 23:00"
Do we have a winner for the shamans?
"Yes we do! The best of the Shamans! Here is the banner as it is presented in the Class Master site:
How about the Warriors?
"Finals are set for this Saturday 30/10/21. After the finals are concluded we will have our winner!"
"As always we will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have concerning your participation in our tournament test runs! Again, we would love to hear from you! More news to follow as the test runs continue!"
Just to add some data points, I got offered the following (for reference, I bought the Diablo Prepurchase bundle, the Welcome bundle and the random legendary mercenary):
- Illidan mercenary (just the card, no packs) for CAD 18.99 (I'm presuming it is converted from USD 15)
- 300 Gul'dan coins for CAD 12.49 (probably converted from USD 10)
These latest offers are absolutely *atrocious* in terms of value, especially since they are for bottom-tier mercenaries. I'm quite content to slowly level up my current collection by completing the daily tasks, so there's no chance I'll ever be interested in these new "deals".
How about something really different: a dual-class weapon for classes that don't normally have weapons! Mechanically speaking, a weapon with >0 Attack should count for both Questlines, as you gain Attack for the Druid and can hit minions with your face as the Warlock. Flavor-wise, the Druid + the Warlock = The Emerald Nightmare, the corrupting influence on Ysera's Dream world. As you succumb to the Nightmare and the pain, you grow stronger and/or lash out in fear and panic, leading to the increase in Attack. This plays a little game with your opponent, as they figure out how best to defeat you without the weapon growing out of control.

Neoguli - If you're looking to transform an enemy minion into something small, this is strictly better than the Polymorph: Boar of old. It's still arguably better even for your own minion, as you get to Discover for maximum flexibility (not to mention the card draw). Not saying this is bad - we've come a long way from that card - but something to consider.
Nirast - "Cost" should be capitalized in Deliverer's text. I would also consider a better name. That said, I think Strength or Wisdom has solid flavor and is pretty straight-forward in satisfying both conditions. A little on-the-nose, though. I'd go with that one.
Demonxz95 - I love it. Hero Power Mage is fun, and so can Hero Power Hunter. There is an inherent question of whether or not Questline Mage would use this card, since they don't care about their Hero Power, but no one technically said such a card has to be good in the Questline deck lol. All-in-all, one of my favorites so far.
Wailor - I feel it's too simple, yes, to answer your question. It's just +1 Attack over Argent Squire; or, in another sense, you're trading opponent damage for self-damage to gain the Divine Shield, if we're comparing to Leper Gnome. Maybe simpler is better, though; very possibly I'm trying too hard with my ideas.
I was slightly betting on Blizzard not refunding it. The headlines, and interviews with mainstream media that want to dunk on Blizzard I'd offer to give, would have been wild.
Google tells me that 3749.00 CAD to USD is 3,026.17. It was ballsy of you to try and buy it, I would be too scared of it actually going through and not getting a refund from Blizz.
Its hard to believe that mercs is but 2 weeks old at this point and they are already trying to milk this thing to the orbit. I havent seen the bundles on sale myself, but if this is true that there are more bundles incoming then its hard not to connect the dots. That the game is very grindy and that its deliberately made to be unconfortable, to be relieved with small purchases of course.
Given what happened in the last few days with the whole air elemental debacle, you'd think they let it simmer down before offering yet more bundles for purchase.
I know when a lot of companies say that line, it usually ends up being some negative effect or its at least perceived that way. I do think BlizzCon needs some serious reform though.
I know people who have gone there and have not felt safe. Sometimes it brings out some of the stalker-types and other related people and it becomes a bad environment for fun. By extension, this makes folks not feel welcome. People at Blizzard in charge of BlizzCon need to not brush aside complaints (which they have done in the past) and actually take action against dangerous people.
Inclusivity is also important. Even just on the side of the European, Asian, and Australian fans, BlizzCon (physical) is not a very easy to access event which has been a very unfortunate because there isn't any other big Blizzard party (gamescom was the closest Europe had to a BlizzCon, and that's a stretch). Blizzard needs to figure out the satellite BlizzCon stuff so there can be multiple events going on at the same time, opening up everything to more of the world.
The side that most consider when looking at being inclusive though, marginalized groups of people, I'm honestly not sure what has gone wrong here with BlizzCon, outside of some presenters in the past making poor comments. Maybe that is all that needs to change and that would be something easy to accomplish by fixing the underlying issues at the company. If there is something bigger picture though within the community (and not Blizzard itself, we already know the hellscape that they are atm) that's hurting BlizzCon, I am not currently aware of any issues that were being experienced by folks at the convention (outside of aforementioned safety problems) and would love to be enlightened.
If they were selling more diamond skins that would be one thing, but if you play a lot, I don't see the point in just buying coins.
This is exactly correct. The genius that came up with the idea that people will continue to buy packs to collect random portraits was sadly mistaken. Worse than that is the genius that decided to give you coins when you buy a legendary bundle if you already have the legendary mercenary . This mode is purely less than beta and blizzard is taking a different approach in putting out games. If players can’t see that the games are being released “half -assed”” on purpose to see how players will react to the game and whether it will continue to be developed or abandoned based on that response. They aren’t wasting money to find and fix bugs because if everyone keeps playing what incentive do they have? Less devs means less cost period. The insane amount of bundles is happening because they are being smart and making money off of the market research they are conducting. Your choices here will determine the future of the coins and how they work in the game.
Blizzard will find out that people who have all the toons won’t bother to buy more packs because extra portraits are worthless and should be actual rewards for completing the 18 part quest chain for each toon or flat out sold as standalone items.
The targeted bundles are designed to determine a player’s willingness to spend money based on their current progress in the game. I have all toons at. 30 and have cleared all content 18 of these toons are fully maxed. There is no need for me to buy anything anymore but will I buy 600 coins for $2.99 sure I will but I will not buy anything else.
The mode is great right now because the card game is worse than watching paint dry. The coins will be used to trade up at a reduced rate in the future to upgrade them to the next level 20 rares gives 1 epic 20 epics gives 1 legendary and so on. I have hundreds of coins that are useless on my maxed toons right now and unless they plan on releasing new skills for each toon that will need to be leveled along with equipment they will have to do something.
Until there is a need to have a specific combo of mercs to clear content the current state of the game is spend about $250 to get all the toons then just play the game to level them. What we don’t know is how much per player are they looking to get, This might seem easily answered with “as much as they can” but it’s not that easy. To balance how much cocaine comes out of the bottle when the rats drink it vs how much electricity you are making from them running on the wheel vs how long it will take them to develop a tolerance for the cocaine causing you to have to up the cocaine vs how long til they die is a very complicated thing.
The internal surveys I took that blizzard sent to me were very specific. I took a bunch of screenshots and maybe I’ll post them sometime but needless to say they were very enlightening.
All I can say is if they do not patch the mode with new content and quickly there isn’t any reason to keep playing it. The pvp is stale imo and is only there to establish a baseline dollar amount to reach a certain level..
Ill eventually max out all the toons but it won’t be endlessly grinding this starting content but will progress as the mode does. Right now , after playing since closed beta and owning everything in the game up to this point even I’m bored with it.
Trust me when I say…Blizzard will notice when people like me finally leave because when we do we will never come back.. I hope they make mercs a card based WoW with multiplayer raids with monthly rewards and different content. I see the potential here but I don’t know if the current people they employ have the talent to pull it off.
My mercenaries inbox has a "deal" for a random legendary Merc for $4.99, and I can click it to go to the page in the shop for it. I don't see it listed in the shop when I go to the shop manually though. Note: I still have the welcome bundle unpurchased ($4.99 for a random legendary Merc and 10 packs), so I'm not sure why they think I'd bite on this one. My Mercenaries investment so far has been limited to gold for the buildings and just enough packs (also bought with gold) to get all the rares. Normally I'd get at least the welcome bundle, but things are so screwed up so far that I'm not willing to bite yet.
Side note: Does it feel like Tasks were added/significantly changed last minute before Mercenaries launched? Most of the bugs and bad gameplay I've heard about seem to be related to tasks...
