I can see it from a business pov they are trying to force you to play constructed and pull you into it with packs, but atleast for merc which is build around packs it would be decent for us arena players to get them there if we like it.
Yeah, that's the big problem, isn't it? No room for another CCG. I didn't mention it in the article, because it's a very personal opinion and a hard fact, but indie card games should allow you to buy the whole set for a fixed price (while still offering the F2P option, of course). Basically, do what Extended Card Games do.
Same feeling, as you but I have the feeling that Valeera will be hard to set up and Diablo too. Tirion looks amazing with fat protectors allowing caster to take out the enemy protectors without dying while becoming bigger.
Thanks for this amazing article. I wanted to share my thought and my looking for lines up:
starters: Cairne/Tirion/Millhouse (or antonidas)
bench: Lich king/Diablo/blinkfox
Cairne giving time to Tirion to buff both of them and to Millhouse to burst their protector. The heal and divine shield to grind and survive. it will be very hard to focus Fire one of them early.
if Cairne dies, Tirion will be already big and you could chose to drop Lich king or Diablo according to their team. If Millhouse dies, drop blinkfox to ensure Tirion attaque first.
i favor burst Millhouse at the start over blinkfox manablink simply because the impact at the beginning of stolen abilities won’t be as efficient than to burst someone out quickly.
I Honestly love the line up Diablo/Valeera but I don’t see it work. Same as the token Sylvanas team simply because no protectors suit this build.
the “family” build don’t look amazing right now because of the number of mercenaries revealed. I feel those like that:
That's mostly why its never the product, but marketing that truly sells. Hence why company marketing and advert budgets often go way above what is used to make the products in the first place.
Mythgard is an unfortunate case where it really didn't get a chance to shine at all. I wouldn't even know it existed had I not occasionally see articles of it in this website. And the de rigueur of big companies is to shove as much meat and grind in their products with the aim of not creating good games but to prolong engagement as much as possible. The result is that having played hearthstone for so long, it's hard to want to switch to another tcg, especially since doing so will inevitably require me to keep up with not one but two card games.
To upgrade an ability to rank 2 is 50 coins. Rank 3 is 100 coins. Rank 4 is 120 coins. Rank 5 is 120 coins.
The total cost per ability is 390 coins. For all three abilities, that comes to 1170 coins.
To upgrade equipment to rank 2 is 150 coins. Rank 3 is 180 coins. Rank 4 is 200 coins.
The total cost per equipment is 530 coins. It seems that most mercenaries get one piece of equipment that is Rank 4 immediately, so you only need to upgrade two, for a total cost of 1060 coins.
So it's 2230 coins for all abilities and equipment.
We don't know what it costs to craft a merc or a portrait, but once you do own a merc, you should easily be able to upgrade all of its abilities and equipment by the time you get it to level 30. Mercenary coins from a Bounty are NOT totally random. I believe it's something like 4 of the 5 coin stacks will always match members of your party.
I already play HS and MTGA, so there is and was no room for another CCG. I think the problem simply boils down to this: The CCG space is already crowded and there is no room for a newcomer. Breaking into this segment of the games market is extremely difficult. HS and LoR only became successful on the back of their already very popular parent franchise. MTGA has been around for decades now and has a very dedicated playerbase. Between these three Mythgard did not have a chance despite all the things they did right. They did not have the money and they did not have the playerbase.
18th September update: hsWhiteDelight's Last Reno Shaman on Earth: ft. Double Dirty Rat!
This is the last Reno Shudderwock Shaman on Earth - thanks to HsWhiteDelight. The deck has Double Dirty Rat to mess with Questline decks.
I tried. I really tried. Yet, Questline Warlock still proved to be a problem. That doesn't mean we can't have fun though! Two great games against Questline Hunter and another Shudderwock (?) Shaman!
I've been toying with Quest hunter for a while, and honestly Voracious reader is a tough inclusion for me. I've tried it, but have found myself way to many times having it sitting in my hand as a dead card because of not being able to make a profit out of it. I personally prefer mana feeder panther myself, is at least a sure card draw whenever I want. Other than that, like your changes.
I didn't really expect it would be a deck other people would look at. I track my Hearthstone Collection in Out of Cards, so I often keep track of decks that look interesting to me in Out of Cards to take advantage of the automatic dust calculation, and there is no way to mark decks private on Out of Cards. My apologies to @max_outh for not making sure there was proper attribution on the list to begin with.
Isn't just really dumb for Blizzard to put a preorder on a card game who nobody never played except them, then publishing the price of the individual packs? like Flux sayed, is really weird how bad Blizzard is making announcements, and i not say it in a pejorative way, her me out, only it confuses me, and then makes me sad, idk. Btw, out of all the sh!t who Mercenaries (including the announcements, the prices, the bundles, etc.), the game mode/game (cuz is just a so much different game to HS, overpassing the BG to the moon) seems pretty fun, so that i may think reinstalling Hearthstone and play some Spell Hunter in wild waiting for the Mercenaries in October.
Also, im so into it, that im studiying the Mercenaries game mechanics/engine and balancing my own take on the game, im making it D&D themed so its going to have, instead of characters, Classes, and each class is going to have a spells equipped and passives and magic items and all of that weird stuff.

Are you still interested in a video? I now have the capability to do it.
Blademaster Samuro
Garrosh Hellscream's Battle Shout for sure -- it's a fast, huge attack buff.
If you want a balanced team, Gul'dan would be your caster pick. You'll need his Siphon Life for heals.
Blademaster Samuro
Which team line up do you see him fit? I think he is good but I don’t know which team mate pair him with for pvp.
Sylvanas Windrunner
Exciting as well but I don’t see the team to go with her: who will you associate her?
The protectors doesn’t fit this team:
I guess I will go
Cairne/Jaina/Boone + Jaraxxus/ the little dragon caster who can swap(forgot the name)
Lack of burst and when Sylvanas arrives you would have lost 2/3 mercs .
i will keep her and level up slowly until new mercenaries make her viable.
waiting for your insight

Atekhan
So I recently found this card again, and have been trying to make a deck maximizing on his strength.
Atakhan, Bringer of DoomBADCARDNAME
So far I have experimented with pure Noxus, and blends with both Freljord and Targon.
I’m curious what are some other deck ideas I can use him in, and what are ones you’ve used for fun?
