  • All Whizbang's Workshop Day 9 Hearthstone Card Reveals - February 29

    Quote From Demonxz95

I'm pretty sure this is the very first time a card reveal has occurred on February 29th.

That makes sense, considering how they've moved up the release schedule. First expansions of the year used to always come out in early April, so card reveals probably never started until March.

I feel like Ensmallen should maybe have a "but not less than 1" for both effects: the Attack can't fall below 1, but neither can the Cost. The latter in particular - the potential for 0-Cost cards is something not to be trifled with, especially in this day and age.

Did anyone else throw up a little after reading Jade Display? If this is the only way to make them, it might not be too bad, but if you can generate them with other spells or minions ...

I do like the idea of Ensmallen, having mana cheating with a downside. Definitely seems fair, hoping this sentiment is carried with more cards in the future.

Specially for this card, it won't really matter for combo centric decks (especially OTK combos) but the downside helps balance the card out so it's not an auto-include in every Druid archetype for the next 2 years

Also a brilliant callback to Embiggen

I was not prepared for them to rotate core exclusives Ysera & Alexstrasza for legacy versions

Bolderfist Oger into Core Set is quite a power creep, tho

I can't wait to try and meme in Wild with a Warrior version of Mine Rogue.

    Impossible Game Plan:

    1. Survive until you have at least 9 mana, and you have the ability to set up a big turn.
    2. With 9 mana, play Boom Wrench and Emperor Thaurissan while holding the other Wrench in hand, as well as Naval Mine and Baron Rivendare.
    3. With the cost reductions you play (1) Naval Mine, (3) Baron, (3) second Wrench, (0) first mini Wrench, (1) second mini Wrench, swing with weapon.  That's 8 mana to trigger Naval Mine a total of 8 times for 32 damage.  Have something like a Slam or other cheap spell that can kill the Mine and you'll get 40 damage instead.

I know Wild is probably too slow for this to be good, but damn I can't wait to watch the video of Mark doing this very combo.  I can hear it now... "Okay, Deck intro time.  And this time... Garrosh is going Rogue."

Botface - Its a value card, intended to provide you with stuff to do while you get to your win con. Because realistically, with odyn being the primary win con for most if not all warriors, you dont need a card like this. Suited for reno decks, or otherwise just plain value. At very least unlike the old Rotface, it's practically guaranteed to give you something.

Chemical Spill - Doesnt matter how you look at it, its a poor card. When you consider cards like Sigil of Reckoning, Big Dreams couldnt make it in competitive, even in big decks, there's just no reason to believe that this would work as well. Perhaps you'll get lucky, get botface off this and gain 4 mini cards from it, that's about the best this card can hope for. Likely wont see play.

Lab Patron - Laughable to say the least. 4 mana 3/3, of which you can only dupe once a turn. Yeah, no chance it'll ever see competitive play. Monster in arena perhaps, nowhere else.

Boom Wrench - So far perhaps the best warrior card. Curves right into Testing Dummy, dealing 8 damage out of nowhere and you get to do it again.

Testing Dummy - I know hearthstone power levels have gone way past charts nowadays, but really? Is it even remotely fair for warrior to have a 4/8 taunt on 6 which deals 8 damage? Practically maims paladin, or any tempo deck, on its own. Fact that its a deathrattle, and with so many deathrattle support, its practically a must kill or you win the game.

  • Miniature Warfare

Thanks. I had no idea what to play so I used your deck: 1 game  - 1 win. Cheers.

  • New Warrior Spell - Wreck'em and Deck'em

There will be all kinds of great uses for this card. Mechs with Lifesteal, Mechs with Deathrattles. Then resurrecting them with the new Dr. Boom. Lots of value.

  • New Warrior Spell - Quality Assurance

This is sweet! Nice bit of tutoring for not a lot of mana. This should fit in a variety of decks and be worthwhile.

  • New Warrior Minion - Testing Dummy

This is a great card, especially with the Mech and Deathrattle synergy Warriors are getting.

  • New Warrior Weapon - Boom Wrench

This looks like a really nice, solid card. 2 weapons in one, 2 triggers, and decent stats. Looks like Warriors will have some choices to make about which deck archetype to play.

  • New Warrior Minion - Botface

Are the "minis" generated from the pool of minions that have the Miniaturize key word? If so, this is pretty strong, especially if pulled out by Chemical Spill. If the "minis" are something else, then I don't know.

  • New Warrior Minion - Lab Patron

I think it will be hard to get good value from this due to the limit of once per turn. Here's the only scenario that might work: it's turn 3, you have no armor, so you coin this out, then play Safety Goggles. If your opponent can't kill them both, then maybe you get somewhere.

  • New Warrior Spell - Safety Goggles

Like Odyn isn't strong enough already! Even if you have to pay 2 mana for this, it's still really good. Setting Odyn aside for a moment, it's also just a really efficient armor gain card, especially when you're behind.

  • New Warrior Spell - Chemical Spill

Yeah, Grom was my first thought with this. This is a really well-designed card: it aims for the highest cost minion, so there is little chance it will just pull something small and kill it. Of course, depending on Deathrattles, maybe that's what you want?

Honestly, I thought the same thing.

”Back in my day…” I remember when the art for Witchwood Grizzly was changed so it would be a possessed bear, not a ghost bear.  Because ghosts couldn’t be beasts!

How do we go from giving a ghost bear some hair to avoid confusion to making alt mech art for non-mechs and being like “this is fine!”

That said, the signature art is pretty nice!

  • New Warrior Spell - Chemical Spill
