Extra thanks for featuring my favorite deck of all time! And glad you’re back with this series in general, lots of interesting decks to see.

As always, thanks for the shoutout!

I hope others enjoy trying out Even Rogue with some new cards.

  • Dean Ayala's Hearthstone Community Q&A #21 - New Minion Types Coming to Constructed, Possible New Adventure Next Year

There are interesting possibilities there. What if you're only allowed to build decks from a limited card pool? Whether that's certain expansions, certain classes, or just certain cards... the fun of adventures is in finding the right card for the job, and having shifting card pools would only make that more intriguing. For maximum fun, offer ALL of those cards to players for the purpose of the adventure!

You could go in other ways with this as well, as Dungeon Runs already have - allow players to build their deck as they continue. I don't like the random and often-meaningless way Dungeon Runs and Duels handle it, but perhaps there are other ways. That one Tavern Brawl, perhaps.

The devs keep talking about how fun and well received all their side projects have been - the Mercenaries single-player content, the Rewards Track achievements. I don't really get it. All those are to me is stress - a thousand small things to do for small rewards. It got to be so overwhelming that I haven't done any of the single-player content in months. They felt bland; hardly any challenge, no deck-building, no crazy surprises. None of the elements that made some of the older adventures or Dungeon Runs worth my Hearthstone time. I wish they'd use all that dev time spent 'filling' Hearthstone to improve their friends options and game modes, instead.

Hopefully that adventure they're planning to release has a bang-on Heroic Mode!

17th July update: McMitta's Jade Lotus Alliance, ft. Shudderwock, Blubber Baron, Emperor and Aya?!

Quest Jade Shudderwock Shaman with Witch's Apprentice and Elysiana?

Off-meta and very much 'old-school'. Sometimes it is just nice to play a deck that is not optimal. We spend so much time thinking about optimisation. How about just playing a bunch of cards you enjoy?

Jade Spirit and Jade Chieftan bring back memories. Emperor is a strange inclusion. Bogspine is also a curious inclusion. The deck does not run the Flurgl / Toxfin combo. Blubber Baron is hard to get value from.

In general, whilst it brings back positive memories, this is not what I would call an ideal Jade Shaman list. I lost a lot of games. Still, I had to try it, if only to experience playing Aya again!

  • New Warlock Spell - Touch of the Nathrezim

Deal 2 damage and heal for 4 seems like a lot for 1 mana. Sure it has to kill the target for the healing, but maybe you have to trade first or something to get a minion's health in range. I'm not seeing it as a huge problem.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

Nozdormu the Eternal, you know (:

Is this none of the previous answers?

  • Corrupt Shadow Priest

seems cool but its too early, we haven't see any cards. they said 2 more cards are for shadow support

  • Riot Is Outdoing Itself Lately

Viego is definately good, it just bugs me how much better then kindred he is.

I might try running both in a control list to see how that goes.

But honestly, decks are running so little removal in favor of burst speed interaction that any deck that can effectively race and curve out is very strong right now.

I went 5-0 in Plat with a Lulu meme deck.

Can you suggest some decks for all of these achievs?

I've just standard cards and i'm not goona craft wild cards just for achs..

helped me a lot with standard deck with previous achs, but seems he stopped with new ones...

    Any help will be appreciated

    UPDATE:

This was completed thanks to a Wild Spreading Plague and some cheap ODD attack minions like Armor Vendor, Venomous Scorpid and 2 mana Ooze (from my hand\deck)

I mean, I can try but you'd have to specifc which achievements in particular you have issues with because I'M not gonna come up with Standard-only decks for all of these right off the bat (even though I'll keep it in mind for the next set)

  • Priest isn't dead, stop whining

    Quote From Xristophilus

Curious as to the omission of N'Zoth, the Corruptor, since HSReplay stats peg it as the third-highest-winrate card in pre-nerf Control Priest. Is it a question of diminished value (I noticed the pirates are omitted too), or is it just too slow without pre-nerf Blademaster Samuro + Apotheosis?

I'll be real here. I have never liked N'zoth and always thought it being shoehorned into Priest.

Realistically, you can probably run N'zoth in this deck even without Southsea Scoundrel and get good results (in fact it might actually be better since LIghtshower has been difficult to justify without additional synergy) but I personally just don't see the point given how our win condition is outgrinding the opponent instead of trying to beat them on board (and Flesh Giants are usually enough swing pressure).

Maybe if Libram Paladin was more prevalent it would be worth running, but against something like Shaman and Demon Hunter N'zoth won't help you early and might just end up being a dead draw when you don't want it.

If you want to run it you can probably cut one Devout Dungeoneer, since Cleric does most of the heavy lifting in terms of draw anyways

What is the win condition? I cannot see any.

The same as any other Priest deck. Don't die and win because you have more cards than your opponent.

Except ypu have this card draw so you will not have that much card

you still have boatloads of card generation and can run your opponent out of ressources before they run out of cards.

Yes, you still can't beat Warlock and hard Control Warrior will probably beat you...but all of that happened before as well. The meta is almost entirely aggro to midrange at this point and you do not win by just having more stuff, you win by staying alive until they can no longer kill you at which point a single big minion carries you to victory.

I think quests are a fundamentally slow design, but that's OK. They've worked fine in the past (I don't agree with Aesan that they have generally been unsuccessful). The real issue is not that there is a category of decks that is weak against aggro, but that the devs have done a horrible job of establishing a good balance between aggro, control and combo over the past year. As a result everything has to be able to beat aggro, rather than being able to carve out its place by beating some other part of the meta.

By far my biggest hope for this expansion is that it can redress the balance between archetypes, not just to allow questlines to shine, but to give players more freedom over what to play more generally. I used to play Standard and Wild fairly equally, both getting to upper platinum/diamond ranks. Now I've become so disinterested in Standard that my season star multiplier has dropped to 3 stars. 3! It takes some serious apathy to not even rank up enough to use up your bonus stars, especially when against players whose MMR is way lower than mine would be if I actually cared.

  • A Roundup of News Related to Hearthstone's United in Stormwind Expansion and Upcoming Content

My greatest worry about the new Questlines is that (as it looks like now) the final, big rewards are all going to be vanilla 5 mana 7/7-s with no immediate impact whatsoever. Because you will already be behind in tempo (-1 card in hand, no turn 1, deckbuilding restrictions), all Quest decks will have pretty bad matchups against any decks that put out pressure. Mid-quest rewards are so far underwhelming, 1-2 mana tiny bonuses, meanwhile their requirements are quite demanding.

I don't see yet how will these decks survive until completing all 3 steps, playing a slow minion and then being able to leverage the reward. Most deck will just outpace them. Especially in Wild, playing an expensive but unimpactful minion is a death sentence against non-control decks. I don't want to see these brand new and interestingly designed effects be very weak.

I am also a WoW-player. It looks like the Hearthstone-team has much more innovation and creativity than WoW.

Imagine if a team with this spirit and motivation  develops WoW.  HS-devs are telling players what their fun with the game is and creating expansions because they think gamers love it. Big love for developers like Liv Breeden and others.

WoW-devs are telling players what they should do to have fun and why it is fun. That is not how you design a game.

  • Reveal schedule on mobile devices

    Quote From Fluxflashor

The schedule widget has always been available on mobile. The only part of the site that isn't great on mobile in the deckbuilders though they still remain accessible for the daring.

If you visit the homepage or Hearthstone portal, you can tap on the "Forums" tab which will show you the countdowns. There is a button at the bottom of the countdowns that takes you to the full reveal page.

I know "Forums" is a bit of an odd button to press to get to that info. Its just what we've called the sidebar on mobile for now.

Thank you very much! I would have never searched there.

But good to know, that the info has been there and I was just blind.

I'm really hyped for this expansion and I'm not gonna lie, I'll throw money at them until I get that diamond Benedictus. Pretty sure it will be tied to the 25 legendarys achievement though. Let's hope they'll be worth it!
