Before the mini-set, the deck was good. It even was one of the few soft counters to Excavate Rogue and could win against Treant Druid and Dude Paladin. It was hard winning against more greeedy decks.
With the new Finley and some Excavate cards to enable it (skip the 4th treasure), it should only get better. But will the meta let it?
This one is fun. Too bad cards like Overflow Surger that care about playing elementals several turns in a row doesn't work properly. Lushwater Scout is MVP.
I own a PlayStation, so I won't be able to play this without a PC version, but it's still really cool to see and I hope it lives up to any hype. And the voice impression is great!
Have a new computer screen (Been stuck to 720p for way too much time) so I am playing some nice looking games like God of War, Doom Eternal and Chivalry 2. Also Unpacking but not because of it's graphics.
Also played a lot of Pokemon Scarlet lately. The Indigo Disc DLC reignated something that the Teal Mask could not for some reason.
And have to add Fall Guys, Mario Party Superstars and Mario Kart 8 with my Fiance
At worst we are stuck in 2023. They actually released 3 big updates last year that all focused on bug fixes, readability and general new player experience. They basically screamed "a steam release is coming".
This is the first time they've done balance changes since going off active development that aren't consistency fixes or compensations for consistency fixes. That's honestly really exciting.
Fingers are crossed. Expectations are low, but nothing would make me happier than HotS going back on actual development.
You are mistaken if you think Blizzard ever had fresh ideas, apart from the first Diablo and the first Warcraft. Everything else they've ever done is just iterations and borrowing ideas from other developers' IPs. Within Hearthstone, all they've ever done is pull fantasy genre tropes and pop culture references into the framework of a card game. They don't even get credit for fixing MtG's terrible mana system, because Pokémon did that first.
In trying to give excavate to two more classes in a small set of cards, they've created a monster. I'm not sure which class will be more annoying now, but it's usually Paladin.
There are so many big creatures these days, I don't think you'll be "wasting damage" as often as you think. It's fine. The payoff for excavating is so good that I don't mind the setup being a little expensive.
As it stands, even Immolation Aura sees no play in dhunter even when they are good. Not to mention that aggro these days tend to be fairly absurd in terms of reload, and give you little to no time to prepare your AoEs.
In other words, its a decent card that will make highlander lists and control tryhards but in practice would perhaps never justify its inclusion.
Control-type Warriors cast spells nearly every turn. "Preparing" will never be a problem. This is just a less awkward version of Bladestorm most of the time, albeit less flexible because it can't handle a large loner.

Delve Into Deepholm Reveals - Day 4
2 armor too sometimes
New Neutral Minion - Iridescent Gyreworm
There will definitely be an achievement that requires this card.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Revealed - What We've Learned So Far
The name of the game is kinda weak, but everything else looks good. Looking forward to trying it out when it comes out.

Hearthstone's Badlands Mini-Set Patch Adds a New Twist Format for February, Lunar New Year, & More!
Make sure to start an Arena run and leave it open to get a free pack and a ticket to start a new run when the mini set goes live.
New Neutral Minion - Iridescent Gyreworm
You can use it with Shattershambler, but that doesn't seem very efficient.

New Neutral Minion - Maruut Stonebinder
I bet they lower the Cost someday.
If this does work out, I propose that the new archetype be named Jacksonium (so, "Jacksonium Priest," Jacksonium Mage," etc.).
Snowpocalypse 4
Incoming!
Delve Into Deepholm Reveals - Day 4
1 health is actually quite a big deal.
New Paladin Spell - Shroomscavate
Giving Windfury to Paladin is a terrible idea. Wouldn't be surprised if this got nerfed to 5 after a week or two.

New Shaman Minion - Needlerock Totem
Warrior has absolutely no use for it, but in Totem Shaman (which was already completely viable), it's way too strong.
New Paladin Spell - Shroomscavate

New Paladin Minion - Fossilized Kaleidosaur
Goes without saying? Nearly every creature that doesn't have those would be better if it did.
New Warrior Spell - Aftershocks
Control-type Warriors cast spells nearly every turn. "Preparing" will never be a problem. This is just a less awkward version of Bladestorm most of the time, albeit less flexible because it can't handle a large loner.
New Paladin Minion - Sir Finley, the Intrepid
"Equality is just an OK card. What it really needs is a transform effect on top of the backbreaking debuff," said literally no one, ever.
