I like mutanus even though what little it does move its nice. Every other one has the glowing effect and barely moves. I figured anacondra would have the snake in the background baring fangs or opening and closing its mouth at least but that's lackluster too. Nothing of these from what I could tell(on mobile) do anything other than glow a little...
Cod and pokemon are not from the same company nor are their lore even from the same universe, it would be a better comparison to say witcher 2 remastered released at the same time as a new gwent patch.
Just for your information: This miniset contain 16 commons, 14 rares, 1 Epic and 4 Legendaries.
This means that crafting the entire set costs 11280 dust total.
It would take 8 Barrens packs to (most likely) unlock all the commons as well as 8 of the rares (not counting potential epics or legendaries or if you don't own all the commons and rares from Barrens yet). this decreases the dust cost by 1120 dust. Every subsequent pack substracts another 100 dust for each rare.
Out of the 4 Legendaries I only see Anacondra and maybe Naralex being actually relevant. Even disregarding that, none of these Legendaries look like they'll have longterm success (unless Anacondra becomes core in some degenerate Druid deck which will then quickly be nerfed into the ground).
On the epic side I imagine Against All Odds will become a Control Priest staple, which means if you play Priest you will need it.
Regarding Rares I actually only see 4 of them being widely useful (with around 4 more being useful for experimental tier 3 decks that'll probably not pan out).
This means that you can quite realistically get almost all the relevant rares from around 10 packs (which gets you all the commons) and then craft the rest.
Additionally, I have a hard time seeing any of these cards (except Anacondra) getting any substantial nerfs in the near future, so the value of trading gold for dust further decreases. Then again, as we've seen by now, some cards don't really pop off until two expansions later..
Overall, much like the Darkmoon miniset the Legendaries and epics aren't universally useful and cater to specific decks only. Generally only a handful of them support currently useful decks (mainly Demon Hunter and Priest and a single card in Shaman). This means that if you want to get the best value from your gold it might be the right call to just use the latest end of month rewards (which you hopefully kept around) as well as subsequent ones and a minimum amount of gold to gradually complete your collection since a large part of this miniset won't see play until further support from another expansion arrives, at the time of which you should have all the relevant cards anyways.
Personally i'm going to open my 5 reward packs and see where that leaves me. Afterwards I'll decide whether I really need any more or if I'll just wait for the meta reports to see if any of the legendaries are actually necessary.

Not meaning to boast, but now there is finally a proper goal to spend all the extra hoarded gold from finishing the complete rewards track last expansion and collect the remaining cardbacks I missed way back when Hearthstone launched. Thanks Blizzard! 🥰
I believe they go by the amount of money you've been spending on Hearthstone. A sibling of mine who is F2P has only gotten the bottom-tier bundles so far and myself, a definite whale, has gotten every bundle that is max priced. I have another few cases that are similar, but by no means is this exhaustive reasoning behind how they calculate who gets what.
I wish they'd just let everyone pick what bundle they wanted. I understand that has a negative in that people that would be offered 20 packs would probably buy the 20 packs but if they were offered the choice between 10,20, and 30 its possible they've be very happy with just the 10 so that could be a potential loss, but I think its a worthy option regardless. Exact line of thinking with your comment about a tiny fish wanting a huge meal, its sorta shitty they wouldn't be offered that choice.
These bundles are probably all in their own groups, so it'll be the wild one going live and then at another point Year of the Phoenix.
I hope we find out what this "custom" logic entails. Maybe someone ask Dean in the Q&As (Twitter doesn't exist for me😜)
I'd imagine for these scenarios, the ideal way to determine which bundle to show would ofc use a person's order history along with missing cards in a player's collection? Maybe even go further and use player game history to determine if they play standard or wild more. Blizzard would definitely have these stats.
Interesting stuff. Im not sure I like these kind of algorithm-derived pack sale bundles, because a person's purchasing decision is certainly not always going to be the same thing the next time. You may be a tiny fish in the sea that usually goes for 10 packs, but maybe you'd prefer 30 now. Or you'd want a wild bundle instead. Its not always going to be the same.
The two bundles: YotPhoenix and Barrens packs. How the hell does this work? The algorithm just decides that since you're playing so many phoenix cards in the past 2 months so you MUST* want a YotP pack instead of one from the current expansion, you know, the most relevant one by a mile.
For record's sake, it does look like you can buy these packs normally. Very cool way to deal with filling in spots in wild collections if that's true - we'll need to wait and see!
Against All Odds will be best friends with Wave of Apathy, but the problem is would you run Wave in Priest decks nowadays? As someone in this thread already pointed out, Priest has some really good control tools already (Hysteria, Soul Mirror, Condemn (Rank 1), even Devouring Plague) that will make people hesitate to include this combo in their deck. You can always just generate Wave of Apathy from Wandmaker, but that's not a reliable strategy.
Could still be useful even if it doesn't clear the whole board, though. Clearing at least three minions with this might make it good enough as a turn 5 clear.
Love this for Priest, the class doesn't have any good 1-drops right now, though you wouldn't necessarily play this on turn 1. It's Thrive in the Shadows with a conditional (but easy to meet) effect and a body attached, which is just better.
New Druid Hero - Emerald Malfurion
Now why would I pay money to have Malfurion wear MORE clothes?
