Maybe it's time to try out Wild, Kaladin. Decks are so optimized there that you will hopefully find one that is fun for you and has a positive winrate. It doesn't have to be tier 1 either, you just need to know it very well which is easy if you like it. I've piloted a Deathrattle Hunter list to Diamond 2 several months in a row, then Odd Rogue to D1 (with less than 200 ranked wins with Valeera), then Odd Paladin to legend. What I'm trying to say is that Wild has a less volatile meta and I'm starting to think that what you are looking for is a deck that you like and that is somewhat competitive. I asume you've been playing long enough to be able to afford to craft at least one viable deck, the most expensive highlander lists left alone for the moment. So what are you enjoying in Hearthstone? From your dislike of Face Hunter lists I gather it isn't aggro (which is a shame because you'd learn the true beauty of aggro in Wild, but I digress) and you want to use your brain piloting the deck. That means Token Druid, Big Priest, Odd Demon Hunter, Pirate Warrior and Reno lists are out. From personal experience I can recommend the aforementioned Deathrattle Hunter (such a joy to mess around with Albatross, Sylvanas and Tonks), Odd Rogue, Kingsbane Rogue, Handbuff Paladin and Even Mage. If you're interested in any of those I can provide decklists.

I suggested that companies have the freedom to market their products in different places however they want to market them, and that exercising that freedom didn't amount to "preferential treatment" - at the time, there was a holiday in Canada, but not in the USA. Hence, the promotion.

It's also perfectly acceptable for Blizzard to offer in-game cosmetics to folks based on their skill-level. Christ. It's a competitive card game.
It's even worse: there are card backs (that of my avatar) that are only available to people who are from a single specific country out of the hundreds in the world (you can already imagine what country it is). Is that racism?
They did say it was purely for consistency of cards across game modes.
Hopefully if they ever make a quillboar pirate they give it the pirate tribe so the tag actually does something more than being an extra summon for N'Zoth. I guess a dual-tribe would be better, but there are so few of them with the current tribes (since all tribes other than pirate are mutually incompatible outside of amalgamations) that I can see why the devs don't think it is worth the bother.
Death's Head Cultist seems really good alongside N'Zoth, God of the Deep. I really like this buff for N'Zoth, God of the Deep! Razormane Raider also seems like an intriguing choise, but it's still not that good of a card. I really like that they finally decided to still make this change! Even if Quilboars won't get any support outside of battlegrounds, it's still good to have new tribes for N'Zoth, God of the Deep decks!

But in the orginal Dungeon Run you have got the initial deckbuilding too? The starter decks? Except that "netdecking" is the same for everyone as done by Blizzard, taking the choice and experimentation out of your hands. Isn't that far less interesting to always start with the exact same decks per class? Currently in Duels there aren't 15 widely agreed upon cards for most heroes and treasures, nor proof the ones being chosen are the best. I'm surprised that would be your reason for not giving it a chance.
