  • Looking for a good post-nerf deck that isn't Hunter or Paladin

    Quote From kaladin

whats the general strategy vs spell mage?  im running into the problem where they have so much burn and removal that i never seem to gain tempo.

Mage should be a pretty easy matchup for Rush Warrior based on the few games I played with both decks. Maybe try to keep pressure on the board without overcommitting. Mage has a limited amount of burn, and if they waste all of it on your minions then you should win the matchup. They have no healing either outside of Ice Barrier so racing for health would also be a good idea

  • Hearthstone Gets Tier 2 Hero Skins Earnable Through Rewards Track Levels Achievements

I like the Valeera and Jaina ones, but i'm not sold on the other ones. So you get one of these every 200 rewards track levels overall? Pretty sure i'm going to get one the second they get added. (Got like rewards track level 150ish last pass, and i'm at lvl 75ish on the current rewards track.) Hmm, i'm already have the tier 1 Valeera Skin, so i think i might get the tier 2 jaina one. (Considering i don't really like the tier 1 jaina skin tbh.) But whatever, if the Tier 5 Valeera skin has a really cool animation/effect* on the portrait itself i might just get it instead of the Jaina one.) Kinda happy Jaina/Valeera get good skins, because i personally don't really have alternate portraits for them. (Never got Medivh because i dislike that portrait/voicelines, and Maiev got boring after a couple of years of only using her.)

*Here we only see the portraits without any of the animations on it, so perhaps some of the bad looking portraits look way better with the animations when you see them in-game.

I really don't like the new Artstyle of the Heroes since the Rewards Track. The washy colours and lack of contours is not as intriguing for me.

  • What to play? Runeterra, Magic, Mythgard or another CCG

    Quote From KANSAS

I also don't like the rate at which Riot releases new cards and factions. It feels very rushed. I would rather the game update a little slower to give us more breathing room in between new sets of cards. I also disagree with their philosophy of "every card should be balanced and playable". When every conceivable strategy in the game will get you a perfect 50% winrate, game play becomes boring.

Because the Runeterra we are playing now isn't the last product. It simply released before it is completed and it won't be completed before all the regions hit the game. They are rushing it just because of this. You can easily see the blanks in the game while you're playing. You feel that something is missing all the time but I must agree that %50 winrate thing-y. It just gets boring because they simply act like it is a sport rather than it is a game.

Playerbase/developers seems like they forgot what the games for and games started to lose their origins as "playing for fun" and you always face people that tries to satisfy their success need instead of fun counterparts. That's sad in my opinion. Competitive Gaming and Multiplayer Gaming nowadays hurts gaming community so much in my opinion and that's not just Runeterra's problem. All of the card games and other genres suffer same thing unfortunately.

Look at the state of the Card Games nowadays. People searches for "best successful S Tier decks" around web to play the game. Where is all deck creating feature of the CCG ? Nowhere. Playerbase mostly plays them because games doesn't really reward for playing, They simply reward for success no matter what. While I can understand the philosophy behind rewarding people who is successful more, i honestly think that it is unhealthy for people and games themselves because it makes games stressful and people can easily get angry in games while they are simply playing those games for relaxing. At this exact point the "Play for satisfy your success need instead of satisfy your enjoyement need" steps in. What was the games for before and now ?

I really hate e-sports philosophy and how Game Industry evolved around it in years and how it forces playerbase to be successful instead of enjoying it and how earning money from Online Games is more beneficial than Single Player games and how it kills the Game Industry.

Meh, none of those portraits really grab me except for Shaman, Mage, and Rogue, which look fine.

They did Garrosh dirty though, he looks like a fat ogre in his Tier 2 portrait. It looks so unflattering.

  • What to play? Runeterra, Magic, Mythgard or another CCG

The thing is, Draft mode of Runeterra sucks, i just wanted to say that because you said that you like to play Arena in HS. The game is great but draft is meh.

  • Hearthstone Gets Tier 2 Hero Skins Earnable Through Rewards Track Levels Achievements

Not really a fan of most of these.

Guess I'll get Shaman because blue is nice and I can't stand looking at Morgl.

    Probably Jaina afterwards.

Too bad Rexxar looks like an armored turd

  • Quilboar Officially Becomes a Tribe in Hearthstone! 13 Collectible Cards Get the Tribe Tag

Sounds good but is probably redundant in the grand scheme of things.

    I mean, think of it.

If you manage to play N'zoth and get back Plagumaw and a bunch of other taunts the only way to lose is if your opponent wipes the board in one go, at which point Plaguemaw dies and does nothing.

Well, bad for people who wanted to buy her for cash later, good for people who wanted her for gold. Still it´s very weird they call it a mistake.. Back then when they were getting out of shop, you could buy all three of them at the same discount, afaik.

greetings to all of you avid TCG Players!

I have countless card games to my repertoire, including all 3 listed in the topic and more. Pandemic has hit hard my work and tired of RNG I decided to get to work on something I've had in pipeline for a long time. The idea is simply mix RPG (one of my favourite game genres) with Card Games (the wife would say to the point of addiction! :) )

I have a playing environment ready for demo for ‘LoF: Card Tales’ (the game's provisional name), but haven't published yet too much about the game as I'm really keen to get impartial feedback and perfect the game as much as possible. FYI, I believe the game currently is just a 'bit' over complex...

Here's what I've been referring to for someone willing to try a new Card Game:

Some of the issues addressed, making ‘LoF: Card Tales’ a unique TCG, are:

    - No mana screw / mana flood

    - Truly countless strategies, with no genuine power creep, as each Hero (3 per game) have their inherent strengths and weaknesses – irrespective of what cards you play

    - Realistic opportunity to play all cards of your deck (all you assembled to use), minimising chance of not ever getting to see the best cards

    - Game turns happen simultaneously, without the drawback of cards not impacting gameplay. Also, a game cannot drag endlessly as there are limited turns to test your wits.

    - Rather than Card Quantity, there is a focus on Card Quality so that all players can be on par at a start of a Game and enjoy putting their Heroes to the test

    See you on the battlefield!

thanks in advance for taking the time to give it a go.

  • Quilboar Officially Becomes a Tribe in Hearthstone! 13 Collectible Cards Get the Tribe Tag

    Quillboar meta this year!

Maybe Undead will be a thing one day.

  • Quilboar Tribe

They have had cards that specifically generate golden versions in the past (Blingtron 3000 and Zola the Gorgon), both for flavour reasons, so I guess it's possible there's a buff spell coming that is intended to make golden versions.

That or they had to do something similar to sort out diamond card generation, and did this just to make things more consistent in the code.

  • Hearthstone Gets Tier 2 Hero Skins Earnable Through Rewards Track Levels Achievements

It's not so bad if the opponent messes up your points by killing you with Annoy-o-tron, since you can quite easily round it up by playing the card yourself. So really you've been doing them a service.

  • Atrocity Should Be Buried (Salt Thread)

    Quote From Hellcopter

While powerfull in the right situation, Atrocity comes with a REALLY big risk:
If the sacrifice gets untargetable (killed, returned to the hand, stasis, etc) before Atrocity resolves, not only it becomes a 6 mana tempo loss for that player but also a 1-2 trade.

I know that the card is fair enough and easy to counter but my point is different here. Do i have to play same cards for more than a year to just counter the same strategy over and over again ? I'm not at the point that like "OMG, Atrocity is so OP, NERF IT!". I am at the point that it keeps getting boring and boring again to play against and with the same strategy over and over again.

    Quote From FenrirWulf
    Quote From Icyfoe88

I really don’t understand the problem, your problem seems to be it... gets used in a variety of decks over the lifespan of the game? You named 3 absolutely unique decks, and 3 of the decks were similar but still different. How is that worse than a card showing up in exactly 1 meta deck patch after patch

While I disagree that Atrocity is at a point where it needs a nerf/rework, I do understand the sentiment. Think of TF. You can argue that TF Swain, TF Go Hard, TF Fizz, TF Ezreal may all be different decks, but they're all still running the same cards that it occasionally just feels like they're all the same deck with some different cards.

It is not same with TF to be honest, and also i don't think that Atrocity needs a nerf/rework. I just said something should be done. It might be banning it from ladder but i didn't call a rework here. I already said that in my OP that it has fair stats for what it does.

But thanks for that you at least got my point. :)

    Quote From minuano28

So whats the issue here ? Do you think that atrocity is too powerful or you just tired from seeing decks that use atrocity as finisher ?

I wanted to quote both of you because answers here are for both of you.

The issue here is same with Ragnaros the Firelord in most situations if you are familiar with Hearthstone. Auto-include for most decks that have SI in it because it is the most Nexus dmg in a one card as a spell.

it's not too powerful, but it gets boring in time to play against because it is always the same strategy with different colors. I know it is easy to counter in some situations, silence/deny/etc. works just fine against it but I don't have to play specific regions, decks to counter the same strategy longer than a year. That's my issue. That's why metas are changing throughout months. Games are not just here for only success satisfaction, they did also be playing for fun (it is the first reason to play a game at the first place btw.) if you forget to origins of the games because of that e-sport bullshit.

  • New Shadow Isles Card - The Wings and The Wave

I'm almost 100% sure that this replaces something in Nasus Thresh. The reason for this is simple - consistency. The deck is very roughly half and half on cards that pump out units and cards that sacrifice units. If you draw all your sacrifice and no unit-pumpers, you have a hard time getting the deck moving in the right direction. Likewise, if you draw all the unit-pumpers and no sacrifice, your deck is basically a ton of chump blockers that don't do much of anything toward your wincon. You need some of both halves of the deck.

This card mitigates the potential consistency problem described above, because it becomes whichever half of the deck you need it to be. If you need the sacrifice effect, it does that. If you need the units, it does that instead.

Improving consistency is something that should NEVER be overlooked when optimizing a deck. I don't know if this would be a 3x or 2x, but I do know that it will be added to the deck.
