I am. Funny how it works in Chrome, since Edge is based on Chromium. I wonder if it's just an older Chromium, or if Microsoft is doing some weird shit.
I've enjoyed the game so far but I do think the monetization could lead to issues in the future... seems too soon to say yet.
I did want to note that while it is unintuitive that the unlocked talent slots only allow you to switch between talents, I think this is actually a very good thing for the game because it means you won't be up against people using 2 or 3 talents in PVP just because they paid more for a bunch of copies of a unit, which would give them a massive advantage.
This way a FTP player can at least compete with just max level units at uncommon rather than needing to make all their units legendary. (of course the bonus levels still matter but much less so as you said in the article).
Which Zelda story are we doing (inb4 "they're all the same")? Will Link talk? Should he talk? Why live-action when they already did well with an animated Mario movie? Are they gonna get some Timothee Chalamet pretty boy-type person to play Link? Who's gonna play Ganondorf? Who has the necessary body type for that? "The Mountain" from Game of Thrones? Are we gonna go there with pig-Ganon?
I'm honestly terrified of this movie, and I know nothing about it yet. Kinda like the Borderlands film coming next year: a franchise I love that I'm super worried will get shat upon. Both of them could've been animated like their games and I would feel 1000% better (at least then you could use the same voice actors).
Yup, very well written up. I really like what this game is going for, the core gameplay is there and there is lots to do, but there is also SOOOOOOO many issues with it.
The errors being the number one for me, not only does it make extremely annoying to then having to wait for even more loading screens to get back, but I've lost so many ranked matches to just getting an error, or game lagging out for few seconds and enemy getting too much of a headstart with two chest and extra income generated.
The fact that AI targets like a drunken potato is another big thing, I learnt to love poison cause they will stop hitting bosses and let them live with no health-bar and start attacking newly spawned units instead, so poison at least has a chance to finish them off; or bring at least one dmg spell to try and finish the job. Dont get me started on attacking spawning towers and letting themselves get obliterated by one unit. Jeez.
The progression system, or leveling up units is also completely designed to make you be annoyed how long everything takes and entice you to buy gold from the shop. I get that the game has to make money somehow, but this has been taken to an extreme. I dont even mind the grind itself, but the upgrading of units being soooooo pricy beyond uncommon for a tiny tiny return in value and things not really being explained how you can only have one talent at a time, and you cant even buy and swap between more until you upgrade also feels like either a big oversight, or purposely clouded information.
It is so stupid to "have to" google information in advance to pick the right first talent, cause there is no way you are getting units to rare anytime soon if you aint paying. This game prides itself on promoting diverse team comps, but nothing could be further from the truth when that diversity and versatility is locked behind a huge paywall, or tens if not hundreds of hours spend grinding to get to a point where couple dozen dollars would have gotten you instead.
Again, I understand the model at hand, but from a longevity of the game, it seems to have been taken into an extreme right from the get go. Im sure they must have had a lot of data from Hearthstone and other titles, but I do not see how this game is supposed to stay relevant for free to play players after a month or two. They will fall behind hard. And ppl who play only few matches a day are going to be left behind completely. I guess the nice thing about it is you can advance at your own pace to a degree and still enjoy the game, but sooner or later you will be met with a wall, be it a boss you need to grind more lvls to beat it, or buy new units, or if you would want to go ranked and so on.
If you couldnt tell by my wall of text, the game has stirred up a lot of emotions in me, so i guess they achieved something. I really like the game, but it is not in a good state right now, and future prospects are also bleak simply by how the progression system was designed. I guess we shall see, im sure the early numbers will be heavily skewed by ppl buying the early super deals, so the game will show as a huge profit and will surely win bunch of awards and shit for how amazing it is on the surface, guess only time will tell if they will be willing to fix the shortcomings or if it is just intended to be an obvious cash cow and be abandoned after a while - like HS Mercenaries ... remember those?
Agreed! It was fun for a little bit and then got boring because nothing was ever going to change in the mode. At least Twist will have a rotating card pool when it's live.
Flux's article is a little dramatic. Pauses in Twist like this were planned from the start. Pretty sure when it was launching they mentioned how it wouldn't always be live and might go dormant for a month or two at times.
Only 34 of the 147 cards are new, and those are two of the 34 new ones. Some of the older cards in the set also had a big boost in play, even if only temporarily. Namely Tiny Knight of Evil. But they pulled back on part of its buff when they also nerfed Chamber. Those hurt the deck and it has fallen out of favor since.
Personally, since I already had close to all the reprints in my Wild collection, it was fairly easy to get the new cards with minimal investment of any kind.
The Caverns of Time cards with the highest play rate in Wild are 3.6% Invigorate followed by 1.4% Chamber of Viscidus. No others are over 1%, and there are 147 cards in the set.
Mana Bind but in return for it being any card it has a weird condition attached. You don't want to pull a Quickdraw card because you won't benefit from said keyword (the card entered your hand too early). It just bucks against the mechanics of the expansion quite hard, which is kinda stupid.
I could see some shenanigans with the Mirage. Ambassador Faelin comes to mind, providing you Colossals to play over and over while they remain safely at the bottom of your deck.
I'm just guessing that means the stats will be divided by 2 and split between the two elementals. I don't know how this will affect battlecries and such, but I kind of hope it doesn't. I'm not sure Mage will be many elementals, so this might not see much play in the near future.
The stats and cost are split between the two halves, but the card's text remains the same. Ragnaros the Firelord would be a 4/4/4 with the 8 damage effect still intact.
Mostly playing Talos Principle 2 at the moment. I'm about halfway the regular content now. It is more story-heavy compared to the first game, but the puzzles are still good (including new mechanics) and I like that there is more stuff to do outside the puzzle arenas (staying vague here to avoid spoilers). There is a sizable demo that gives a good impression of what the game is like: the start of the story, some old mechanics (for new players or those that need a reminder) and some new mechanics.
Baldur's Gate 3 with friends, but only once a week, so that will take a long time.
I still need to finish Afterimage. It's a good metroidvania, but larger than I expected and now I only have difficult areas left that I'm just going to fail at if I'm too tired, so progress is slow.
And Hearthstone of course; got to keep up with those quests to get gold for the new expansion.
By the way, now that this is Out of Games rather than Out of Cards, this subforum has become on-topic, so maybe a bit of reorganization would be good.
This is a really good change, also one thing Blizzard didn't mention is the insane "super drafts" sold on the "black market" that Chinese players use. Zeddy mentions it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUnG8T_fbUg
Titans are way too OP for arena anyway, so glad to see they banned. This change might make me want to come back and play some highlander arena
pizza tower this is a fast dynamic 2D platform game inspired by the Wario Land series, with a focus on moving, exploring and score attacks. You will play as Peppino Spaghetti, an agile and powerful middle-aged Italian chef, on a mission to destroy Pizza Tower to save his restaurant from destruction.
the only reason I liked twist was Wild updates, not always good updates but for me something is better than nothing, even if it buffs already strong cards
The change to Stitched Giant is really just an indictment of how that card is moving along. Its never a bad card, but trapped in a rune that doesnt need nor want it.
Well, at least you'll now be able to play this in rainbow DK and feel less dumb about spending loads of corpses.
But really, they should have just removed its rune restriction in its entirety. There's no solid reason why this card should be exclusive given that all runes types uses corpses to varying degrees. Might actually see play then, encourage a bit of creative deckbuilding because thus far the rune system certainly arent doing it.
Its likely something to do with them creating new sets like CoT, all in time when the midset comes round so they can force a few people to pay real money instead of gold to play both twist and standard.
Or perhaps its true enough that twist is simply not doing as well as blizz has targetted and now they are restructuring the team. Same thing happened to duels and currently that mode is just a shadow of what it once was.
Either way, at least for me, I wont be missing this mode. Hearthstone is stressful and expensive enough on standard alone. Imagine having to cough out more money into another mode that'll likely be printing yet more OP cards to skew the previous meta and then demanding money for it.
