A strong excavate card. Especially if you've already excavated some. Good if frost wants to excavate.

Strong card, pretty much only because of Frostwyrm's Fury though. If excavate is good in pure frost them this might make the cut.

If rainbow DK somehow becomes meta then it will probably run this. There's probably not a single other deck that cares for this though mainly because it's mixed runed.

Another really good card that is held back simply by rune restrictions. Maybe a DK deck, probably using the rest of the excavate package except maybe the ox, does split it's runes for this. But I doubt it. Also rainbow death knight will probably run this, though rainbow isn't exactly good.

True form:

3 mana 3/6 Charge. When this attacks discover a card from another class. It costs (3) less.

I play nothing but Wild Thief Rogue (climbed to Diamond 2 last month) and this card is at best not very much better than what we already have access to and at worst it is yet another dead card in hand (this tends to be a weakness of thief rogue when you get too many Tess effects too early or weapon buffs but no weapons etc).

With 2 Shadowsteps this is a 5 mana 3/6 charge deal 6 damage kinda. Add 3 great cards to your hand (probably..). Ok that sounds enticing sure, but you have to do the math that that is like a 6-card combo for not that big of an effect so I'll pass.

My problem with this card is mostly in the top-decking. In fact, even in my starting hand I worry if I can consistently get 3 cards from other classes PLAYED when I need dude to hit something when a 3/6 is viable stats!

As a Burgle Main I really hate to say that this card is probably bad. It really saddens me because I was hoping Rogue would have gotten a Highlander effect. Something big like Battlecry: for the rest of the game replay a card from another class you have played or something. It's really too bad..

Whereas, I AM the target audience for these catch-up packs. I haven't played Hearthstone with any regularity in probably 3+ years. 

But throwing cards at me isn't even close to enough to get me to come back.

Hearthstone is only still popular because it was the first to break into the digital card market with a game that was better than any others like it at the time - meaning it gathered a large playerbase, which stays loyal due to all of the money they've invested in it (sunk cost). 

Objectively, I doubt it's even in the top 5 best CCGs at present, in terms of gameplay and visuals. But it already had its playerbase ages ago - and stale play patterns combined with multiple company scandals are apparently not enough to get most of them to actually withdraw their support.

Some interesting parallels there to a certain politician.

They do not update: the first pack is specifically a "Showdown in the Badlands Catch-up Pack", and are a snapshot of Standard as it will be on the 14th. Presumably in the future they'll release a new Catch-up Pack that contains a different collection of sets.

It's only missing from deckbuilder not the card database

As a side note, I want Excavate keyword to tell me the next Tier I'm digging into so I don't have to remember what tier I'm at.

Duos looks pretty damn cool. If I understand correctly, there's no random matchups, you always play with a friend. I guess that means you will have the in game text chat available, but I'm sure just about everyone will be on a Discord voice call. I can imagine the ping system will be very useful either way.

While I might want another one of my minions to win Brawl, perhaps this is worth it to ensure my opponent never wins. Though I'm questioning it since this is 2 Mana more, for just some terrible 4/4 stats.

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing if this is dormant on the board, you can play an excavate card to subtract 2 from the dormant turn counter. I can't imagine that would be hard to do somewhere in the minimum six turn wait. I'm pretty sure most classes have tools to easily deal with this by turn 10, but maybe you get lucky and your opponent used them or isn't holding them. Warrior also has a decent amount of handbuffs for taunt, so it might not be hard to play this with 20/20 stats.

I'm just guessing that means the stats will be divided by 2 and split between the two elementals. I don't know how this will affect battlecries and such, but I kind of hope it doesn't. I'm not sure Mage will be many elementals, so this might not see much play in the near future.

So we now have a Neutral card for every type. Clearing the enemy board and limiting them to one minion for the next turn is certainly going to be very strong. The magic bullets all look very good too.

That seems fair but ruins a diabolical plan I considered. 

So funny how they mentioned a new class yet didn't even tell us what it will be 🤦‍♀️ 

I'm sure it's that nature based class (soul something) mentioned when someone datamined the Steam client.
