  • Blizzard is Giving Away Forged in the Barrens Bundles & Twitch Subs Today! Theorycrafting Streams Day

If you purchased the mega bundle from Blizzard directly (not Amazon Coins or something like that) then it's worth contacting them about a refund so that you might be able to use the code. Outside of that, yeah new account, or give it to somebody.

I guess as we've added Bloodsail Deckhands and Crabriders plus there's a ton of rush in there we could go back to being a bit greedy again. I do like the idea of highballing Overlord Saurfang as it really would feel bad it you pulled two Warsong Envoys off of him.

  • Is Barrens Blacksmith also Alley Armorsmith?

I was looking through the flavor text of the new cards when I noticed Barrens Blacksmith's flavor text says "Maybe someday you’ll make it to Gadgetzan, kid". I also noticed that Barrens Blacksmith also has the same goggles and gloves that Alley Armorsmith has. COULD IT BE?

If it is intentional, I have to give props to whoever added these references into this set. We got to see the return of characters like Flurgl and Kazakus and also the grown-up versions of Elise's scouts through some of the mercenaries.

I think this will be a cool year for Hearthstone lore!

  • New Warlock Minion - Neeru Fireblade

So apparently this doesn't fill the board at the end of every turn but just yours....which makes it actually worse than Lakkari Sacrifice.

Well, at least it Warlock won't rule the control game all alone

Only trouble with Taelan Fordring is it might pull the Bloodboil Brute which isn't so bad but not guaranteed Overlord Saurfang, that is until you have Kargath Prime. Then it would be good. There's a fair amount of card draw in there to either thin the deck or straight draw cards so I'd feel we've got quite a few ways of searching for Saurfang or big Kargath.

I had the Bladestorm half as an aggro clear and half as a Frenzy activator. I reckon we could lose it for a Corsair Cache but keep the Cruel Taskmaster as another Frenzy Activator. Then there's two taskmasters and two Whirling Combatants along with the 2 x Animated Broomstick to get those Frenzy's going as well as Saurfang's battlecry for any Frenzy minions already on the board.

  • New Priest Minion - Soothsayer's Caravan

    Pro

INFINITE VALUE. It's a fun little fake Thoughtsteal that you do have to protect to get value from it, but there's potential for it. I think it's slightly too weak to see play.

  • New Mage Spell - Oasis Ally

Strong secret for Secret Mage. If your board is empty on turn 3 you are sure to trigger Occult Conjurer on curve

  • New Priest Spell - Desperate Prayer

    Pro

Nice combo with Xyrella against aggressive decks. I don't think this makes sense to play otherwise.

  • 12 Angry Orcs

Honestly, I wouldn't add Warsong Envoy to the list if you want to play Overlord Saurfang as well. As it's really not a card you want to resurrect with it. I would keep  Overlord Runthak, as it provides a lot of value. Also, Cleave could be a nice addiction to the deck, as it helps regain the board in the early stages.

  • New Rogue Weapon - Swinetusk Shank

    Pro

Good weapon. Self-Sharpening Sword is better in most cases, but there's no rule saying that you can't run both in a Weapon deck. I like that there's enough Poisons to make one of these last for a very long time, which could be a big selling point on its behalf. You do have to run a lot of Poisons to make this worthwhile.

  • New Mage Spell - Refreshing Spring Water

The support card spell mage desperately needed to be viable. 0 mana draw 2 in that deck, potentially 2 mana draw 2 in a lot of others.

  • New Mage Spell - Runed Orb

It's similar to Arcane Breath, but you pay 1 more mana, no requirement for a spell and can go face. Good enough

  • Hearthstone's Patch 20.0 Arrives March 25 - Nerfs, Saurfang in Battlegrounds, Arena Rotation, More Deck Slots, and More!

No, it's just that we, the players, have gotten better/smarter/less easily confused. Hooray for us!

  • New Rogue Spell - Yoink!

    Pro

If you're really set on using your Hero Power in a weapon deck, maybe you're fine with running this. Otherwise, it seems like the effect is too weak to be taken seriously.

  • New Rogue Minion - Oil Rig Ambusher

    Pro

Good minion to chip in damage. Particularly devastating with Shadowstep and Secret Passage. It might find a way into OTK decks, but I think it's more likely that we see it as just another part of Tempo/Burn Rogue decks.

  • New Mage Minion - Rimetongue

Solid stat for 3 mama. If your deck running some frost spell this card can be a valid addition

  • New Rogue Spell - Paralytic Poison

    Pro

Good if you want to start using your weapon to control the board without sacrificing Health, instead of what Weapon Rogue currently does, which is hit face. I think this card is one of the weaker Poisons, mainly because most of what it does is irrelevant to current weapon decks.

  • New Mage Spell - Wildfire

Certainly makes Reckless Apprentice nicer, but a similar card ( Shadowform) haven't find a lot of play. I don't know if Mordresh Fire Eye and Reckless Apprentice are enough to force you to play this spell, but in wild you can use this to buff DK hero power

  • New Shaman Minion - Firemancer Flurgl

    Pro

    Brace yourselves...Murlocs are coming.

Flurgl is a very good tool for Murlocs, giving them the ability to control an aggressive opponent's board while also chipping in extra face damage. As I see this, Murloc Shaman has very few weaknesses. It has strong, synergistic minions. It has a variety of ways to control the board. It has relevant card draw. It has powerful AoE buffs. This will be the deck to beat on day 1, and I think it will continue to be a force in the meta.

  • New Priest Spell - Power Word: Fortitude

    Staff
    Quote From Topandito

I don't think this is great. What deck has a hand full of spells that is enough to make this cheap, while also having reliable minions to aim the buff at? I can see Spell Priest happening but I don't think this will be run in it.

The exact problem I have with this card. Don't see it happening either.

And what's the reward if you manage to pull this off? Plain stat buff which is quite far from exciting.

  • New Shaman Minion - Bru'kan

    Pro

I really like that the addition of spell schools allowed Blizzard to do something as powerful as this. +3 Spell Damage is very good, and Shaman has a lot of Nature spells to take advantage of the extra damage. Maybe Burn Shaman is thing, or maybe this works in a slower Shaman deck to boost its removal abilities.

  • New Mage Minion - Arcane Luminary

Unluckily Mana Cyclone is rotating out, so the main combo are Evocation and Deck of Lunacy. The effect is good but it need some support with the next expansion to be playble/strong in standard

  • New Shaman Spell - Chain Lightning (Rank 1)

    Pro

I think this is pretty good as early board control. The first rank alone can deal 4 damage to minions for 2 mana. Control Shaman, if that is even going to be a thing, will run this. I'll be interested to see if there are going to be any slower strategies for Shaman, or if they're all going to be Murlocs.

  • Blademaster Samuro and Golden Mankrik to be Disenchantable for Full Value For 1 Week After Pre-Release

Upon further investigation, it turns out that last year's duplicate protection changes happened while I was on a break from the game. I did read news stories about it, but never the official posts, so I didn't quite get the full story. News sites didn't see fit to spell out the details about golden vs non-golden, so I missed that piece of the puzzle. I was still going by my knowledge of the old system.

Good to know -- thank you for pointing it out!

  • New Shaman Spell - Nofin Can Stop Us

    Pro

VERY good AoE buff for Murloc Shaman, which is definitely going to be a thing. The amount of stats you can add to the board is staggering, and Lightning Bloom is always lurking as a way to cheat this out before an opponent is ready to deal with it. Murloc Shaman is going to be absurdly powerful.
