  • Get That XP! Finish Your Druid, Hunter, and Mage Darkmoon Faire Achievements With These Decks

We have these tweets from Celestalon to go by. So I'm afraid the XP bonus was always going to be temporary, unless they have changed their minds since. And I do wish they had, but I don't recall hearing any news on the subject. Do you remember if it was something more recent that made you believe so?

And hey, I'm pretty sure everyone could find their way up to 12 wins eventually. Not getting there doesn't mean being bad either. It takes a good deck/class that you are comfortable with and some luck with your opponents and treasures.

That's so very wholesome, stories like this are never common. And very kind of you, I'm glad they appreciated it enough to pay respects with your win.

Nice one! And just in time. This is indeed a good chunk of experience to grab while it's still there. You might be more talented at this Duels thing than you thought. ;)

Seriously, would it do much harm to allow these XP rewards to be available until a players gets the achievement regardless of how long it takes.

    .......Snake Trap?

  • Should Blizzard Adjust Draw Rates of Over-performing Cards?

Ok, the people have spoken. It's the perfect solution to solve imbalanced cards and allow a little more variety into the game, but I guess not such a good idea. Have fun net-decking the same boring decks that involve cards that carry the win for you like the good little robots that you are : D

Reading your replies you guys seem to think I'm saying to make it the card won't show up at all. Not the case. They would show up  less often in a series of games, thus taking down the winrate of deck abusing power cards over time.

  • New Priest Minion - Priest of An'she

I question how consistently you can get the effect on curve, which is when the extra stats are more impactful. Void Drinker has one less attack, but can be more easily played on curve as it doesn't demand a same turn set up, and Drinker only sees sparing play in Warlock. Also, Control Priest hasn't historically cared about the stats of minions, but rather the effects of minions, of which there are more effective taunts like Lightshower Elemental. Maybe Priest of An'she sees play in a Tempo Priest that Team 5 keeps pushing, but that archetype has never been able to succeed with the lack of efficient draw Priest has.

  • New Rogue Minion - Scabbs Cutterbutter

i think it's so good that it might get nerfed to 2/2 lol.

that said, i'm a rogue main and unbelievably stoked on this.

  • New Rogue Weapon - Swinetusk Shank

    please bring xaril back

  • New Neutral Minion - Mor'shan Watch Post

Wow, I appreciate everyone's optimism in the comments, but this card is pure garbage that will never see play. 4 stars for creativity.

@Demonxz95 I thought people didn’t mind anachronism if made with a custom watermark? It doesn’t purport to belong to any specific expansion after all, so it should be above time-flux issues

If it doesn't belong to a specific expansion, then it shouldn't use a keyword that's exclusive to one expansion because then that is a time-flux issue.

That's the way I look at it at least. I realize that I care more about this than anyone else, but it takes way from the card for me.

So you’re saying that this should’ve been a Scholomance/Barrens watermark? Or are you saying that these types of effects shouldn’t be made?

Scholomance or Barrens watermarks would've still caused the same issues. Print it in Scholomance and it doesn't make sense since spell schools didn't exist yet. Print it in Barrens and it doesn't make sense because Spellburst is not supposed to be used here.

These types of effects are allowed to be made, but shouldn't be presented in an environment that is intended to be used for realistic cards (such as these competitions), nor should it be implied that the card itself is intended to be realistic.

Note however that "unrealistic" does not necessarily mean "unprofessional". If you wanted to include your card in a set that is entirely themed around bringing old set-exclusive keywords back into one environment, then you could put that card there. Alternatively, such cards are still good as a means of a thought-provoking exercise. They however shouldn't be made or posted with the thought that they could be cards that actually have a chance of appearing in the game though. Your card is well designed, but it has several continuity-related issues if you want to look at it like a realistic card.

  • New Rogue Weapon - Swinetusk Shank

There are enough poisons for this to be viable for rogue.

  • New Warrior Minion - Overlord Saurfang

This card might be pretty good, some of the frenzy cards would be awesome to have resurrected.

  • New Rogue Minion - Scabbs Cutterbutter

Great effect, but 5 stars for the name alone.

  • Blizzard Reveals a New Forged in the Barrens Legendary Rogue Card - Scabbs Cutterbutter

I'm guessing this will be a nerf candidate sometime in the future.

    Hilarious name, btw.

  • Should Blizzard Adjust Draw Rates of Over-performing Cards?

I think this is a really bad idea. You're not fixing the problem that the card is "overperforming". And even if a card has a 1% draw chance, then it doesn't change the fact that in that 1% of games, basically nothing has changed.

And besides, a single card doesn't make the deck unless it's a combo deck or a build-around card like Baku the Mooneater. If you lose every game you don't draw the specific overpowered card in your deck, then it's a bad deck.

Also, shouldn't players be rewarded for playing the right cards in the right decks? Skull of the Man'ari and Voidlord are both awful cards on their own, but they become strong when played together in a deck like Cubelock. Isn't that the entire purpose of a deck-building game? It's the ideal example of really, really good card design: cards that are bad on their own, but when played in the right decks, the deck is much greater than the sum of its parts. Reducing the draw rate just disincentivises people from making good decks, because why play good cards if you never draw them?

TL;DR, it's a lazy solution that doesn't fix any problems, and probably introduces some as well. If a card is unbalanced, why not make the obvious choice and balance the card?

Does anyone know if Guff is related to hamuul in any way? It sounds like a parent child, but I don't remember if hamuul did have family in Wow.

  • New Rogue Minion - Scabbs Cutterbutter

This is goddamn insane. It'll make for some HUGE swing turns for Rogue; just coining this out on 3 will probably enable a massive swing that could snowball the game in your favor. This has potential to be a nerf candidate, with the mana reduction to be reduced to 2 instead of 3.

  • Get That XP! Finish Your Druid, Hunter, and Mage Darkmoon Faire Achievements With These Decks

This article motivated me to at least try duels which I don't play (aside from the early pack rewards quests we got for playing duels when it launched).

The other achievements are (mostly) fun but no where near as rewarding as they made the duels achievements, so thought I'd at least try a run.

    12-2 woohoo!

OK I likely had some luck on my side, but if I can do it, so can you - or at least get a good number of wins if you've not yet obtained them.  In casual doesn't matter if things aren't going well as can always restart and who knows - might get a few other achievements along the way.

    Good luck all.

Obligatory video, it's unbelievable the quality of those videos they make.

  • New Druid Spell - Mark of the Spikeshell

A fine card in Taunt druid. Also functions like Seance in a druid deck that wants to play a specific taunt card multiple times. Strong combo with Strongman.

  • New Mage Spell - Flurry (Rank 1)

The effect isn't very powerful, but 0-mana cards almost always see play. Putting these here for reference:

    Flurry (Rank 1)

    Flurry (Rank 2)

    Flurry (Rank 3)
