Love it. Any card that gives you the flexibility to create something tailored to your current need will be both fun and powerful. The previous Kazakus did this and saw lots of play. Zephrys does this and is played a TON. The 4-mana restriction will be tough, but I think that indicates that the other options for golems will make it worthwhile.
What more do you want from a late-game card than two big bodies and a tutored late-game spell? One of the strongest cards I've seen, the only thing that can stop it is killing your opponent with aggro before they can cash it in.
Obviously a very powerful card just on paper, but I think it might be difficult to actually build a deck that wants this.
At 8-mana it's not an instant tempo win like Spiteful Summoner was. Add to that the fact that the 4 Old Gods now pollute the 10-mana slot so the result probably won't always be that good.
In a control deck this might just be too slow. It works in slow matchups for tempo, but the unreliable nature makes it a gamble.
I think the best way to use this would be in a midrange/tempo deck that runs a plethora of 8-cost spells....and the only one I can imagine right now would be some sort of Elemental Mage with Grand Finale
Then again, this probably has some major support within the expansion itself so it will end up playable in some shape or form (at the very least it could be nuts in Arena)
Maybe the grimy goons will finally get a chance to shine, feel like they got the short end of the stick. With the core handbuff card and new handbuff cards no longer showing which cards they hit maybe they'll be better this time
If it functioned like Spiteful Summoner, it would be good. An 8-mana 6/6 that summons an 8/8 is potentially worth building around.
If it drew a card, it would be insane. A huge board swing plus more fuel is insane in basically all control decks, maybe some midrange too.
But it doesn't draw a card, it tutors a card, which makes it one of the strongest cards I've ever seen. Control Warlock can now play an 8-mana 14/14 that draws Twisting Nether. Shaman can play an 8-mana 16/16 that draws Eye of the Storm. Ramp druid can play an 8-mana 16/16 that draws Survival of the Fittest on turn 6, then follow it up with SotF on turn 7 and a board of 8/8 Clowns on turn 8. This card will 100% be nerfed, keep all your copies.
Hard to evaluate until we know the entire lineup of available 4-drops.
The issue with the Princes has always been that unless they just straight up win the game (Keleseth and Taldaram in respective combo decks) it's often hard to justify running them instead of a consistent curve (which is why Valanar only ever saw play in Rogue for one expansion, because he was simply better than their only other playable 4-drop Sherazin, and then got quickly replaced by the Spiderman in KnC).
I expect this to be run in any non-aggro deck that doesn't have any mandatory 4-drops. Being able to just create a playable 5-drop on curve is pretty neat, even in a midrange deck.
I'm assuming there's gonna be at least one or two tempo options to build
If the game goes past Turn 8, this definitely bring a bunch of value. It's slow, though, both in terms of 8 mana as well as not affecting the board when played (apart from something like Darkmoon Rabbit.
Hmm, I just made a lengthy reply with a bunch of links but it showed up in a Red Box when I tried to post and then disappeared when I refreshed the page :(
Not sure what happened, but in short (without links), check out BloodMeFist and Sule's articles on here + FrostyFeet for Wild ideas and compilations built around specific cards (e.g. Vol'jin). I'd also look at the decks posted by MarkMcKz on here and Youtube. For other sites, I used to check HearthstoneTopDecks and you can filter by top rated fun decks by pro players for viable off-meta builds.
Our spam filter got angry, probably due to the amount of links. The post has now been restored.
8 cost is very expensive, although the battlecry is impressive. Can see this viable in druid, but only druid maybe.
I can see shaman and mage getting decent usage out of it too, more mage though. They can run Grand Finale as their big spell that will also at minimum summon 2 8/8s next turn
5 sttars, even if it will just be a meme. Can't imagine this being the only "if your deck doesn't have..." card, so really looking forward to what they are printing!
As it always draws your highest cost spell (which you are definately close to playing at turn eight or later) this is actually super insane. Obviously not an aggro card, but so much high roll potential I love it!
Interesting Card - but i guess we will have to wait and see more of the Abilitiys and what other new Cards will come to support a deck without 4 cost cards.
But defenitely interesting and also sure even tough without knowing all of the abilities that this will see play.
Is it to slow at 8 mana? But the effect is powerful: you are cheating out 16-18 Mana on turn 8 and draw a specific card on top of it. Even better to be played after Lightning Bloom on Turn 6. That can win you the game.
Here I was thinking that it would be really fun to revisit some of the older original HEarthstone characters like the Gadgetzan gangs because they never really got to shine that much, but I expected it not to happen this year because of the old-school Warcraft focus.
Well, color me impressed, here's our boy again.
Now let's do the same for Han'Cho and Aya Blackpaw and I'll be a happy boy
Looks like fun. value vs. having no other 4 mana slots will vary by deck. Being able to craft potential tech cards on the fly as needed for a match-up appeals to me.
Cool card, but honestly just way too slow. Card draw is nice for some specific classes, and of course Spiteful Summoner was great, but having to both include enough expensive spells and 2 of this card makes your deckbuilding too restrictive for too little pay-off.
New Neutral Minion - Primordial Protector
Old mechanic. Could be strong in the right deck, if you don't draw the big spells before.

Cards that cost 4 are quite strong. Little disappointing from this kind deck building.

His voiceline is about assembling mercenaries, so I doubt that he is one itself.
