  • New Druid Minion - Druid of the Plains

    Beast Druida Inc.

  • New Druid Minion - Druid of the Plains

Card seems strong in a class with ramp (not sure what ramp is available following rotation + core set).

  • New Neutral Minion - Mankrik

Everyone rejoice, Mankrik is finally in Hearthstone! Lok'tar ogar!

  • Out of Cards Forged in the Barrens Card Pack Giveaway - Packs Provided by Blizzard

    Awesome.

  • New Warlock Spell - Imp Swarm (Rank 1)

Flexible, but not sure if the power level is too low later in the game.

  • New Neutral Minion - Shadow Hunter Vol'jin

Love the combo potential of this card - wish I had the original.

  • New Neutral Minion - Mankrik

I just love the flavor of this card - brings back memories from 15 years ago :)

  • The Desert Army

This is my first draft of the Azir Hecarim archetype. I made up a List which features getting many critters onto the battlefield and giving them aoe attack buffs to force the opponent to block our units... Until they can't do that anymore.

The attack values that this deck should reach on the sand soldiers should be about 6 in the average game and that should be quite scary.

Phantom Pranksters are here to make chumb blocking wiping the board for the opponent more difficult.

I think Azir is going to be great,  the question is if the deck keeps what it promises

  • New Neutral Minion - Spirit Healer

Like the card but not sure it's good with the new core set - perhaps something in the Barrens set?

  • New Neutral Minion - Blademaster Samuro

Probably one of those cards that you put on most decks.

  • New Neutral Minion - Razormane Raider

See in arena, pick in arena.

  • New Neutral Minion - Blademaster Samuro

With the right support bet this could be great :)

  • Hakkar Reno Hunter

Are you playing in diamond mmr level?  What decks did you play against?  It's not going to do well there because of all the fast decks or decks that have extreme aggression like secret mage or kingsbane rogue or have insane boards in the midgame like big priest.  Hakkar, the Soulflayer is a slow win condition so it's more for fun; however in lower mmr (gold or silver especially, but even some in platinum) levels there are a lot of slow value decks that this deck does really well against.  It also does better against combo decks that draw through their deck.  I do wish hunter can get more control tools to make this deck more viable. Professor Slate is great but there are very few options for hunter to control boards and get to the late game so this deck sort of relies on Zephrys and Zombeasts to deal with subsequent large boards.

  • New Neutral Minion - Peon

I can see this being in Trolden vids for the perfect answer out of the blue :)

  • New Neutral Minion - Peon

    Staff Pro

I'm also disappointed, Caro, that we're seeing spell generation here, especially through a Neutral. The bright side though is we don't have any mana cheating so it has that going for it.

It will be very interesting to see how this looks once we've got a full view of the spells that will be available in Forged in the Barrens. For now, I'm just not interested.

Flavor is going to be top-notch though as seen in the card's actual flavor text:

Joke's on the peon: the job's never done.

  • How I Imagine Leblanc Might Be

Personally, the main issue with LeBlanc is the fact that her mechanic is tied with Reputation which is a horrible mechanic. Not enough payoffs and it's hard to get there. LeBlanc isn't a very good champion to tie in with Reputation. A lot of people have pointed out that Samira is better for a lot of reasons and I think that no one disagrees. LeBlanc just doesn't feel like an aggressive champion but a combo/control champion instead.

Also, I think it's bad to have another 4 cost champion that's a 5/3 with Quick Attack. Especially since they'll be in the same deck. Also not that big of a fan of the level up condition because Viktor is also 4 mana. But it's definitely more interesting than 3 mana Academy Prodigy.

  • How I Imagine Leblanc Might Be

I've no idea about the balance of it but I do like it more than the current version of her. I do think that having her rely on attacking to generate these might be too hard, especially if she has to be on the board for that. I feel like round end effect or something would be better for it since otherwise I don't see this being very reliable outside of Targon or P&Z, and I tend to prefer to avoid shoehorning champions into very specific deck styles when its possible.

  • Hakkar Reno Hunter

Love the creativity, but man does this deck get stomped by most decks. I played 4 games and only barely won one of them due to a resizing pouch pulling Dragonqueen Alistrasa which pulled a 1 mana Malygos. All the other times I would get the early Hakkar going and then just run out of removal and get beaten down by anything on the board. Professor Slate is the only thing that gives you an edge but he is so easily killed and if you don't find him the damage spells are laughable. Unfortunately hunter just doesn't have very good control options and a deck like this needs to survive a loooong time to get Hakkar bloods into lethal range

  • How is Druid Going to Perform in Hearthstone's Year of the Gryphon? Core Set Review

Its reasonable to expect Nordrassil Druid to not be as impactful as it seems. It doesn't have taunt, needs to be played first (and therefore you actually need to have that card in hand prior to playing your spell) unlike Anubisath Defender, and crucially still costs mana. So while we can stare with bloodshot eyes over that 1 mana 3/5 aspect of that card, drawing it and then playing it with a spell that cost 3 or more is quite another thing entirely.

This is something that will be good depending on the cards we see in Barrens and beyond. If there's something that draws cards absurdly for druid in the early game, it might make the cut because at the end its still a 1 mana 3/5 most of the time. But without taunt or rush, its always going to be an uphill climb for any druid card.

  • How is Mage Going to Perform in Hearthstone's Year of the Gryphon? Core Set Review

I strongly doubt burn/OTK will be supported, based on what's been removed from the Core set: charge, cheap damaging spells that can hit heroes, big temporary attack buffs, etc. Everything points to a renewed focus on the fundamentals: getting the board, keeping the board, and defeating your enemy over a few turns.

  • How is Druid Going to Perform in Hearthstone's Year of the Gryphon? Core Set Review

Aside from maly and highlander druid, I don't remember seeing Swipe being placed into a druid deck for the last 1 year. I think the exact timing was when Overgrowth was released in AoO that swipe quietly got shelved.

Druid always had problems coming from behind, which is why its also the first class I can remember that successfully played Animated Broomstick when it released (If memory serves, both spell druid and guardian druid iterations didn't start with broom in it). Most druid tech for early game removal to prevent an early game snowball and that's about it.

  • This Week's Hearthstone Balance Patch Postponed Until Forged in the Barrens Release in 20.0

Not really. The last few reveal periods lasted 2-3 weeks. We should be getting something this week, at the beginning of next week at the latest.

  • Weekend Wild Hearthstone Decks - Mecha'thun Warlock, Odd Rogue, Miracle Priest, and More!

Let me know how it goes if you try it, I’m really curious.  It’s pretty memeish but when it works it’s really fun to see it go off and against slow control decks like odd warrior you basically autowin, and if you shut down highlander effects you have a chance against reno decks too.

  • How I Imagine Leblanc Might Be

I already wrote a long comment under Leblanc's reveal article. So I won't repeat them.

I just recreated Leblanc with the revealed cards that how I wanted her to be.

I really don't know about her power level, I didn't think of any of the existing cards while I'm creating this. Just wanted to create an interesting version instead of a creepy aggro one.

I kept Leblanc's Mirror Image at 4 health because of the possible heal playarounds to fake the opponent. Level-up conditions/Stats/keywords might be overpowered or weak but can be tweaked. I just wanted to know that you're happy with the real LeBlanc or something like this which I showed above.

Oh and I forgot to write on the card but Level 2 Leblanc loses its Last Breath after she dies.

Edit: I have corrected level 2 state of her.

I am really so disappointed to see the real LeBlanc.
