It can be a buff or a nerf all depending on whether or not you want to play the other two cards later in the match. I don't imagine this change will impact the usage this card sees, but I am glad they adjusted the text to be cleaner and more straight forward.
Statiscly in most cases this is a nerf. unless play fatigue deck this is a nerf
It can generate a body and help keep ramping or whatever you are doing but I dunno, I don't see this in any kind of current druid archetype aside from highlander, which since highlander cards are rotating there isn't any point in playing that.
Worse Silence when targetting your opponents minions, so i'm guessing were going to probably also see the return of Silence priest? However the problem Silence priest always had was their enourmous lack of card draw, not the lack of Silence effects. Also most Silence priest cards are going to rotate soon, so that's also unfortunate.

Those cards give a hint for archetypes to return ! Hero power mage, treant druid, silence priest, discardlock etc. Cool to know and make prognostics for the upcoming year !
Of all the new cards, outside of the dragons, its clear that paladin and hunter are getting some push. Dire Frenzy back in standard and selective breeder to draw it those cards is support enough for beast hunter, just one other draw option will seal the deal.
Dude paladin getting some major buffs, and that new secret Reckoning is so good in so many ways, especially given that its just 1 mana and in many cases practically impossible to avoid having a prime target drop dead after attacking.
Priest cards, well, are underwhelming. No more Shadow Madness, no more Thoughtsteal, two of the better priest cards. No more mass dispel either, which may or may not be a good thing. Shadow form now being 2 mana means its a viable option though, and perhaps good enough for tempo priest to make an entry into the upper meta.
Jaraxxus being a hero card is ironically removing that one setup he has with Demonic Studies and renders him completely unable to hp on the same turn without coin. Can't even cheat him out with stuff like Deck of Chaos anymore. But the fact that he now gains you a net of 5 health may make up for it, but I can't help feeling that he'll almost never see play unless team5 creates some form of a setup for him.
Edit: Just realised that mage got screwed. No more Frostbolt, Frost Nova, and Pyroblast. So its tempo or bust now. Those expansions got plenty of work to do since mage is utterly useless now without hefty support.
Also no blizzard for mage, and no arcane missles(for new legendary)
Remember Mana Wyrm? Well here it is, but as a priest card that loves healing instead of spells! Crimson Clergy has some premium 1 drop stats that can really help tempo priests. However Tempo priest has always been meh, so i'm still not sure if it will actually be enough to ACTUALLY make tempo priest good.
Just pointing out the lack of mechs and murlocs in this year's core set.. Could that mean that we will be getting a bunch in expansions?
I've always liked Elementals and Elemental shaman was one of my fav archetypes with Menacing Nimbus one of my fav cards in it, so that makes me hopeful for some more elemental tools.
"The term Reckoning Bomb refers to an attack that consumes multiple Reckoning "charges" at once, dealing a burst of damage via consecutive attacks. This is done by turning off auto-attack and allowing yourself to be critically hit until multiple stacks are accumulated, then turning it back on to use them all.
Reckoning could originally store an infinite number of charges, which meant Reckoning Bombs had the potential to deal massive amounts of damage. In May 2005, one paladin soloed Lord Kazzak in the Blasted Lands by unleashing a 1,816-charge Reckoning on him, killing him in a matter of seconds."
Hard to evaluate because not sure what it is doing. Is it one trick or infinite value? If infinite, does it give powers from new minions too? For example - this dies, you draw Sorcerer Aprentice, it gets +2 spell power and deathrattle, you play it, it dies, you draw minion and it gets +2 spell power+deathrattle+spell discount.
Its only permanent assuming you'd continuously have minions in your deck, something which mage often dont do well with. The fact that this card is only useful when there are good spells in your deck limits the usefulness of that permanence.
Also, the fact that most of mage's good spells are now kaput, its really all down to the expansions to make up for it. I'd still prefer antonidas to be honest.
I dont get why dint buff mana tide or unbound for shaman espcially unbound espcially vs pally getting buffed warhorse trainer why couldnt unbound aslo be a 3/4. Or mana tide have 4 hp(if dotn want it 2mana).
Warsong is shaw for 1less but half the stats, should be a 3/3 or 2/4(so it could survive for a turn) and regardless have broom anyway which is way better card still.
Equality relaly shouldve been 2mana not 3.
Ethereal conjurer is still awfull cad thats never gonna be used , could and should be a 6/5.
And cenarius and alakir buffs to me are really? thats it? theyre still gonna be trash tier.
And tracking basicly got nerfed for some reason.
Does shadowform still have the 3mana hero power at all?
Overal i do like the changes but some bfufs dint go far enough iimo and i dotn egt why some others dint get buff at all even though are cards that where alreayd betetr got a buff(like warhorse trainer vs unbound elemental)
And warglaives is the nerf that shouldve happend in first place, 6mana was always just gonna be way tp much to pay for it.
Now that a card reference in Hearthstone could reference a Core Set version or non-Core Set version (e.g. Drain Soul in KotFT deals 2 damage, while it deals 3 damage in the Gryphon Core Set, Sprint has different costs between Gryphon Core Set and Basic), the site will need to support specifying a version of the card when linking to the card in forums, decks, etc.
Seems good 2 mana destroy a minion is solid. But it's a paladin secret, so i think it might not see that much play. (unless Paladin gets a big pay-off card for secrets like Mysterious Challenger.)
They really did these new dragons dirty with the art. It's great art, don't get me wrong - just not on a card.
It's too detailed. There are too many colors for us to imagine a simple and majestic image with just the card's thumbnail. Compare to the old Malygos. The subject is the same (dragon breathing fire), but it's colored all in shades of blue. Some detail is omitted and the camera is zoomed in so that it reads on a small card. On this new Onyxia, almost the whole dragon is shown, with every part in full detail.
It's also too stereotypical. Look at the new dragons altogether. Notice how there are only two poses? They're the most typical poses, too. Sitting or breathing fire. Some of the old dragons share those poses, but they're twisting, turning, more sinuous and beautiful. Old Onyxia, for example - look how there are three distinct levels of detail to the pose. The head is most detailed, and then the body in the mid-ground, and then finally the tail whipping out. It's a sinuous and beautiful arrangement that guides your eye along the dragon's form. New Onyxia is a chonky block with a huge foreground, a tiny mid ground, and no background at all.
Finally, just look at the freaking pretty abstraction of a dragon that is old Deathwing. None of this new art comes close to that level of beauty. He is a looming, undeniable, animalistic force of nature. We read him differently because he looks different than what we know 'dragon' looks like. He's special. He's Deathwing. Deathwing the Destroyer, while undeniably produced by a skilled artist, lacks the spirit of individuality that set the old one apart. The artist drew a dragon, but he didn't go so far as to ask, "How can I represent the spiritual form as well as the physical?" "What holistic decisions can I make that will produce a unique whole?" In the old art, those radical decisions were the symmetry and the geometry (look at how the V of his jaw extends all down the chest. Not natural, obviously, but beautiful!).
Anyway, I'll stop spewing my thoughts on the keyboard now. I'm a l'il disappointed at the lack of artistry, but that's okey. The new ones are still pretty.

Reckoning
That artwork is brilliant.

True! I feel like Azir will probably have the 'value' cards that we haven't really seen in Shurima yet.

WOW, that will make Dude paladin in standard meta AF. This seems too good to not see any play!
Also THANK YOGG it's EVEN costed and not ODD Costed! We dodged a bullet there!
Pursuit of Justice
