Great article - this deck looks really fun! If I had the cards, I'd probably try it out.

Thank you so much for this series! I enjoy each and every one of your articles. <3

One very useful thing I've learned about Horrendous Growth is that silencing it doesn't bring it down to its basic stats. Which leads me to the question if Y'Shaarj, the Defiler gives you the basic or the 20 times corrupted version - I haven't tried that one out yet, could someone please confirm or deny?

Last but not least, I was wondering if Strongman might not be a useful additon to the deck. It adds some survival and with the help of Xanesh it should be easier to corrupt it before Y'Shaarj hits the floor.

They've clearly calculated that A-B testing (or A-B-C-D testing...) is more valuable than perceptions of "fairness."

I wouldn't call it intimidation, but I do acknowledge 1.000 win portraits in some kind of "okay, you're dealing with an expert here, be careful" kind of way. They are usually very skilled with their class and less likely to make mistakes so my own error margin also shrinks. That's probably BS with the amount of RNG involved, but you can't deny that scoring 1.000 wins with a class comes with a lot of experience.

God I really hope that the new "big change" coming to the next rotation is that old sets will rotate into standard periodically.  I'd love to play with, ungoro cards and dalaran cards at the same time (as an example).

A whole bunch of this ^

This is actually my fav one since the portal animation looks dope, though I'm pretty lazy to try to Heroic the one night at karazhan adventure.

I found this back in '06. You see, we used to be able to go to restaurants back then. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. We didn't have any red onions because of the war, so it was a big yellow onion.

Would be great if blizzard offers a daily reroll option (like quests) for this offers until you get the one you want.   I would buy the wild bundle, but got the 2 legendary 20$  DMF pack offer.

Or better yet, just offer all of them for evryone. and fi they want peopel to only get 1they can make so if buy one cant buy the otehrs anymore. But still should just give them all as options to evryone.

If I met a 1000W Priest with a deck full of golden cards and the LVL50 Coin foiled as well, I would shit my pants. Instantly.

Awesome! Makes me happy that it was found by random and the datamining process was just a confirmation. It felt a little cheap 😁

    The interaction is cool nonetheless!

I love the fact that Vera's intro music is a piece missing from the Explorer's theme. Also, what are the quotes for the Legendaries

Well I gotta complete the flavor text and voicelines part before you can know lol. In the meantime, have a Darkmoon Races miniset cards.

When the race is on, everyone gets excited at the Darkmoon Faire to see...well, everything that can happen. Race mishaps, possible accidental death while racing, bunch of animals suddenly escaping the faire, racers eyeing each other trying to get the lead...lots of things to get excited about! And this set, too, exemplifies that flavor, with cards specifically relating to racing outside of the racers themselves, an imprisoned dragon from warriors...and even a reckless...paladin racer?

Nowadays, if I see someone using that special skin from level 50, I tend to think my opponent must be someone extraordinarily skilled. The coin and golden cards/portraits don't do much to me, since everyone from diamond 5 onwards would probably have it anyway.

Similarly I hope my opponent doesn't soil his pants when he faces me using that lvl 50 Anduin portrait.

Oh yeah, that whole white/colored thing is always a bit awkward when your story is set in a world of anthropomorphic animals. I always assume, when they're talking about colored people, they literally mean color, and not just black. As in all the darker shades of the fur. I think there's even a hint at that in silent hell, when blacksad finds sebastian.

Get to the last page where Blacksad found Sebastian. There's two toilets, one labeled white and the other colored. Obviously we're in post reconstruction America, but I really wonder if those animals would stare blankly at those toilets trying to figure out which is the right toilet to use from time to time.

  • The Secret Scholomance Board Interaction Has Been Solved!

This was known like 5 months ago, it was even a guy that does this kind of posts that posted it and a lot of people have seen it. It's just reddit making a fuss and people not double checking or doubting. It's not even hard to trigger.

  • The Secret Scholomance Board Interaction Has Been Solved!

I mean on the one hand, I feel like every board *should* have a secret interaction, but then at that point is it really a "secret" interaction if every board has it?  My favorite is still Un'goro though.  Saviors of Uldum is a close second though.  God I really hope that the new "big change" coming to the next rotation is that old sets will rotate into standard periodically.  I'd love to play with, ungoro cards and dalaran cards at the same time (as an example).  Though I do fear certain things returning (like ungoro quest mage).

  • Ever feel intimidated?

    Hello there!

I’ve been wondering if I am the only one feeling a bit intimidated by factors such as The Coin ((Golden) — all golden deck), LVL50 or 1000W Hero Portrait, the Legend-cardback etc.

Let me know if there’s anything that intimidates you during your adventures in Ranked Play.

    Best regards,

  • A New Hearthstone Card Pack Bundle Has Arrived, And It's Different For Everyone - Tavern Special

So I checked and got 2/20 for 19,99 eur offer (I buy bundles from time to time)

My second account got 1/10 for 9,99 eur offer (I´ve never spend a dime there)

    Well now this is interesting..

  • The Secret Scholomance Board Interaction Has Been Solved!

I saw that thread on reddit a few days ago and it must have been somewhat satisfying to a) get it checked out by someone who was happy to put in the time to check the code related to the board, b) help those that doubted your claim reevaluate :)

I don't really feel like the art in amarillo is rushed, but I'd have to give it another look since it's been a while I touched that one. Could be that Guarnido tried a different style, since the story of that book is also not really what you're used to from that series. However, it wouldn't surprise me if it really was rushed, considering that Guarnido probably also started to work on Les Indes Fourbes (about 160 pages) around that time. That also might be the reason why there's been no new blacksad books. But, if I can trust google, they're working on 2 new ones, with nr.6 apparently releasing on oct 26th this year.

I haven't played the game, but i heard it's pretty meh. I remember watching a random vid from YMS, where he made fun of it. Though, apparently the story is pretty solid.

  • A New Hearthstone Card Pack Bundle Has Arrived, And It's Different For Everyone - Tavern Special

Good idea in theory maybe, but in practice this is terrible. Everybody should be able to buy the bundle that suits him / her best. For non wild players the wild bundle is of no use. Or maybe your budget is limited (not that far fetched in a global pandemic) and you want the 10 bucks bundle and it is not offered to you. No, Blizzard, just no.

Any hints for the hidden achievement "A Turtle made it to the ice"? I'm assuming I have to throw a snowball at a specific OoC employee?

Blacksad by Juan Diaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido
    - Its already been recommended here, but I thought I'd add it in just to show how many times I've actually read this series. Its hardboiled detective fiction stuffed with anthropomorphic animals, but don't let the furry labels put you off. In fact, to be real, the illustrations are so human like that there's barely anything animal about it. From the second tome onwards, all pretense of animal people is reduce to a paper-thin consistency, with very human-related themes that somewhat would never work with anthro animals, not that anyone would ever make an issue of it.

But as far as illustrations, story, and entertainment goes, this one's really up there for being both unique, and daring at the same time. Outside of kiddy comics, I've not come across another comic that features anthro animals that so well polished and not blatantly pandering to certain groups at the same time.

Ahh! I see, you're a gentleman of culture as well!

What's your favourite entry in the series? Mine's either Arctic Nation or A Silent Hell. Because of its subject matter and grey-ish colorpalette, Arctic Nation just has an awesome atmosphere that feels so serious and, well, cold. Silent Hell is pretty much the opposite of that imo. It feels so vibrant and almost wild, and the setting is also very interesting. New Orleans' jazz culture in the 50s, hell yeah!

Best one's probably Silent hell. Artwork was at its peak, a good detective story well told (though you have to have half your brain turned off if you couldn't guess whos the villain here), and the characters were interesting enough to make me want to go through it multiple times just so I didn't miss anything by mistake. And besides, its got Weekly in it so that's always a plus.

Arctic nation is good, but from this book onwards I think Juanjo just basically started treating his subject matter like humans rather than animals. The story is also rather weird, trying to tie this religious-white supremacy idealogy within a group of animals, which quite frankly is a ridiculous concept since most animals are by nature multicolored. So the whole setup is conveniently filled with naturally white and black animals, while never addressing whether someone like Weekly could ever be either colored or white. Nice end though.

My favorite is obviously Silent hell, but I remain somewhat in awe over the first book. It had a different tone and design. Most characters retain some of their animal-ness, like how Blacksad had claws and his head was properly cat-like. Makes me wonder what eventually made him turn away from this design.

Its been some years since the last book Amarillo, and since I can't read french, I can't tell if its cancelled or simply put on hold. Probably a good bet that its cancelled, since the art in Amarillo feels a little rushed, as though Juanjo simply lost his passion. Im still hoping there would be a few books left, but after waiting somewhere around 5 years, that hope is slowly coming to a halt.

Did you manage to play that video game though? I've been thinking about getting it, if only because that's another Blacksad story I've yet to actually read.
