Great spotlight! (Though, pity the golden version was not included in the article, given that it is present n the linked ArtStation page for Hammerloc)
I don’t think Blizzard will agree, but I’d say that we don’t need a new card to replace this one. Rogue has lots of great core cards already, and that’s why it’s so consistently strong. My build of Miracle Rogue is over 1/3 Classic and Basic cards. (Edwin and 2 copies each of 5 other Rogue cards. Plus Questing Adventurer, but he’s neutral.) That’s a lot of power in the Rogue toolset, and they’d almost have to make the new Legendary weak. Why bother
Ice Lance was a problem in particular when played the turn after Alexstrasza. As long as those two cards aren't in Standard at the same time, I don't think it would be overpowered. It would still rate low on the "fun and interactive" scale, in my opinion, but if they want to do something about that, they could just change "character" to "minion" to make it a less flexible but more mana-efficient version of Ray of Frost.
I have used Power Overwhelming in egg decks, together with Void Terror. But those decks were never consistent enough, so in the meta it was indeed only used for burst. I would argue though that Soulfire is a bigger problem, since Power Overwhelming requires a minion in play and can be stopped by a taunt.
I played another game with this deck just now against secret mage and again, won at 25 health and 5 armor, clear enemy board, no enemy secrets, and enemy almost at fatigue. And my hand was still full of removals and heals too.
The problem is not that they take 2 months (December and January) to introduce balance changes. The problem is that we are going to get to January and they are not going to solve the real problem of the game (kda cards and landmark interaction) and people are going to feel quite dissatisfied. I don't know, I'm a little tired of the excuses that they don't make balance changes because of tournaments. Tournaments can be played with an older patch...
Aphelios is the new Twisted Fate, It is a card that you will play exclusively for the cards that it can create. It is very versatile and can fit in many decks, such as TF
So far I only played it 8 times against secret mage and I won 7 of those, and it was not even close. I would be glad to play 12 more to give a sample size of 20 but it will take a while. Also, this deck is not supposed to beat other decks. As stated in the description, it’s a troll deck solely designed to beat secret mage, so just concede against other decks. If you are looking for a deck to play to rank up, again, as said in the guide, this is not the deck for you. After destroying secrets you have a ton of extra secret removal, clears, and heals, they can’t really kill you by turn 4 unless they get really lucky. The way I usually won was a secret clear on turn 4 or 3 with the coin and then further secret clear cards or removals or healing later. They don’t win by turn 5 unless they have very good draws and after that you just heal out of reach and keep destroying their secrets and healing and removing. Furthermore, there are a lot of turn 3 cards you can play too.
Edit: After thinking about it, you are not commenting in good faith as you have clearly not read the description of the deck before commenting on it. So, I am not going to respond to you any more. I am still going to get a larger sample size and post it as a comment if anyone is interested. However, I did want to post the deck with a smaller sample size as it seemed to win very convincingly, and more importantly for a troll deck, in a very satisfying way.
I don't like poppy's design. That it can be used to block like a spell can confuse people. I like the concept of defense and that he has to block attacks, I would have made him gain a +2 | +2 bonus and "tought" every time he blocks.
Regarding tristana, I don't really know what the "mark" mechanic does. Is it just a name? I like that it has a kind of area of effect, but I don't think it makes much of a difference from Draven.
Ahri's design I really liked. I have nothing to object, it would just make the token 3 | 2 or 3 | 3 instead of a 2 | 2.
And Sion is just bad card. A cost of 9 with no direct impact on the game results in an unplayable card. I would lower the minimum cost to 7 mana. And it would give some statistics 7 | 4 or something (and that the level up that it has instead of being related to the death of enemies that is related to the TOTAL life that Sion has.
This way it would have more synergy with existing cards)
Can I see the winrate of this game over 20+ games vs secret mage? Because I don't see how this deck beats it. Really no play the first few turns, just all the secret hate cards jammed in one deck which looks like a terrible idea, because not only does it lose to all other decks, but it doesn't really beat secret mage either. Sure, you steal or destroy a secret for 4 mana, but then they just burn you down faster than you can play your expensive cards.

I admire those with the guts to still try and innovate in current Wild.
Room for innovation is severly limited or non-existant and you feel like an idiot after losing to the stupidest plays of your Priest or Mage opponent.
After losing to Secret Mage despite playing Flare and Reno, I am now playing Secret Mage myself.
Now I'm winning, but I still feel like an idiot.

This deck went 17-3 for a winrate of 85%
Just played another game and won again with secret destroyer shaman at full health and them at no cards in hand. So easy. So the deck is 9-1 now.
