  • The Game Awards

I watched it, and rather than disappointed I felt dissatisfied because the winners were about as expected with TLOU2 winning most of it and I was hoping that other games would at least take a bit more of the awards. It felt like TLOU2 only deserved about 2 of the awards which were the Best Voice Acting and the Best Innovation which made complete sense as the game was a good technical game just not a very good game overall. I wished Legends of Runeterra would have won the Best Mobile Game but no surprise Among Us won that category without much of a challenge (though I think it's not right to nominate a game that's not released in 2020 but oh well). I'm very very very happy that Hades won a few awards at least because I loved that game so much and I think that it had a good chance to win the GOTY despite being an indie game. Overall, this year's awards felt a bit underwhelming but that's just my opinion.

For the announcements, I'm sad that there's no Elden Ring announcement (I swear that game does not exist). I'm a bit weirded out by the sheer amount of co-op zombie shooters that got announced but they all seemed pretty good so I'm hyped for that. Ruined King which was Riot's RPG game finally got a trailer and I'm hoping it's a good game. The Smash Ultimate announcement was amazing and I got baited for half a second when Sephiroth "stabbed" Mario.

  • The Game Awards

It seems silly that Among Us was even on the list, considering it came out in 2018. Did the mobile version come out this year? That must be it.

Anyway, I'm glad Hades won something; that game is amazing.

  • The Game Awards

The Game Awards just ended. Unfortunately, Legends of Runeterra lost on the Best Mobile Game category to Among Us. There weren't any big surprises when it comes to the winners. The Last of Us Part II got the Game of the Year award and several others, Hades got the Best Indie Game and Best Action Game award and Ori and the Will of the Wisps didn't get a single award which really upsets me. That game really deserved at least the Best Action/Adventure award. Did anyone else watch the show? Did anything surprise you or there were any announcements that you liked? I didn't really pay too much attention. I was just listening to the audio while tinkering with some deck ideas in HS.

  • I'm so tired of losing against stupidly overpowered elementals...

Every time i play BGs there's always someone that had that 2/3 taunt elemental at over 100 health before like turn 5 and it really doesn't make me want to play this game.

  • Discolock

No, you're not. because they leave Solarium which is Infinitely better, than just Soulfire. Trust me I made this deck the moment the brawl went live, It's been my go to deck since it's inception. There is no "No win chance" no matter what they ban, you will win. I've played Soulfire,The Soularium, Silverware Golem, and Fist of Jaraxxus all 3 times we've had this Brawl.

Dont think Nomi or Majordomo are the problem, Elementals do need a way to scale and getting to Rag is pretty hard. Pushing Nomi and/or Majordomo even higher would make elementals almost unplayable imho.

Problem is Cyclone and Wildfire Elemental. They basically have cleave, so they trade for more than one minion most of the time, or even more. Those should probably get to a higher tier, so you cant start buffing them so early.

  • Seven New Runeterra Cards Revealed by Riot! Demacia, Shadow Isles, and Targon Cards Including 2 New Landmarks

5 stars for Targon's Peak...but purely for the memes. It's not a good competitive card.

Pesky Specter looks highly obnoxious...and I kind of love it.

  • Anyone here playing Gwent?

I'm a player of it. I took it up after I got sick of the overly snowbally game play of LoR. I enjoy it a lot but the only complaint I have about it is that it is so strictly mathematical. What I mean by that is that the strictly number based victory goals make it hard to play anything off meta or bother with tech cards since they will lose you the game the vast majority of the time. A good deck often extremely efficient and does things with ruthless efficiency, I've been having a lot of trouble facing monster decks lately. That said I don't want to sound like I dislike the game, I think it has great art and is actually more balanced than most games out there, and its unique enough to offer something different from other collectable card games. I think the game would be more enjoyable if I had friends to play it with that allowed playing it without feeling like I had to use nothing but the most powerful decks in the meta. That said the same can be claimed about HS and LoR as well since any game is better when you take it less seriously.

  • Please move the ad

    Staff Pro

We've been in contact with our vid provider and they've adjusted the player so that it now properly has the close button. You'll notice it is now on the left side of the screen as well on mobile to the button should be touchable now.

Thanks for the continued feedback everyone!

  • New Demacia Landmark - The Grand Plaza

I really hope that this card isn't so powerful that it demands a nerf, because it opens up so many deckbuilding possibilities for Demacia that I think it deserves to be a staple like Single Combat. The most appropriate nerf I can see would be changing the Landmark to "When you summon an ally, give it Challenger this round. If it already has challenger, give it +1|+1 this round instead." In any case, I love the potential that this has with Shyvana and the Dragons in general. Late game, a lot of the dragons become really weak because they won't be able to gain Fury (such as the 4/4 Dragon). With Challenger, they are able to scale at least once and pull away units that could threaten your better dragons. This card also makes Stalking Broodmother into a superpowered Genevieve the turn it is played, which could cause that card to actually see play. Another great synergy I see is combining it with Legion Drummer to get units with Quick Attack and Challenger.

  • New Demacia Landmark - The Grand Plaza

Elites and dragons are both gonna love this one. I can also see this work with a Lucian/Undying deck.

  • Seven New Runeterra Cards Revealed by Riot! Demacia, Shadow Isles, and Targon Cards Including 2 New Landmarks

Yes, i hope they redesign it. But that will only happen after it has already left a mark on the game. We will have to wait and see what happens. I'm not completely against RNG but it feels much better when it's conditional or controllable.

  • Seven New Runeterra Cards Revealed by Riot! Demacia, Shadow Isles, and Targon Cards Including 2 New Landmarks

Maybe Targon's Peak goes in a "Big" deck, where you're trying to drop the bigger hammer/units on somebody. That's the only deck I can see this working out in, and even then...

I do like Solari Sunforger, though. Could it maybe replace Radiant Guardian in my Leona + Aurelion Sol deck? More Daybreak procs for Leona, plus it's slightly cheaper and doesn't require a friendly unit to die that turn. *shrugs* Just a thought.

  • New Demacia Landmark - The Grand Plaza

I saw this card and I said, out loud to myself, "What? Excuse me, what?" This card is absurdly strong.

  • Seven New Runeterra Cards Revealed by Riot! Demacia, Shadow Isles, and Targon Cards Including 2 New Landmarks

Yeah I hate the card too. I think it’s more similar to a card like Unseen Saboteur that can randomly swing the game depending on what it targets. Also, the fact that the Landmark can create these swings on turn 6 rather than turn 8 like The Howling Abyss makes it much harder to counter the RNG. Like if one player has their Pale Cascade discounted while the other has their 8 drop discounted, it becomes very hard for the player who got unlucky to win. I would really have preferred something like “Round Start: Halve the cost of a card in your hand this round (rounded up).” That way it would still benefit playing high-cost cards but wouldn’t create RNG for both players and would make the high rolls a little worse. Overall, the design of this card is really bad and I hope the Live Design team reworks it like they did to other cards like Ren Shadowblade.

  • New Targon Spell - Moonlight Affliction

This is going to be so annoying to deal with.

  • Anyone here playing Gwent?

    Hello everyone,

I just recently started playing Gwent, frustration over the Hearthstone BP incentivized me to give it a shot. I also love Witcher 3 and started playing it again, so I'm having a really good time gaming after a while.

I wanted to check, what's the situation here, is anybody playing it? Saw an old thread about it, it seemed to me that people here weren't optimistic about the game back then.

If anybody is interested, it would really make me happy to make some in-game friends :)

By the way, I would recommend the game to anyone who's into Witcher and loves card games. The cards have beautiful art and flavor, and playstyle feels more strategic compared to HS. The reward system feels good for now, but I'm still a noob and can't be objective here yet.

  • Seven New Runeterra Cards Revealed by Riot! Demacia, Shadow Isles, and Targon Cards Including 2 New Landmarks

Yeah, you are right. I'm just being pessimistic because this landmark kinda upsets me. I know the comparison isn't good and that the card can actually do the opposite and win the game for you but i think this is the first card in the game that can actually cause the person who played it to lose the match. I don't think we have any other cards that can do that. Even a card like The University of Piltover has some immediate synergies it can take advantage of. But this thing is like a coin flip. The person who gets the better discount might be able to win the game on the spot. I really wasn't expecting them to start releasing stuff like this.

  • New Demacia Landmark - The Grand Plaza

This card is... like ... who thought that 3 mana is appropriate for this effect in demacia? It basically is a free single combat + stat boost for every unit summoned which is way too good for 3 mana imo... like just think about the options it opens to SI Demacia decks where you can force death triggers way easier now and completely own the board... well we will see how it hits but im quite shure this hits hard

  • New Shadow Isles Card - Evershade Stalker

I think what people don't realize is that the created copy isn't Fleeting. Basically, every turn you have the choice to spend 2 mana on getting a copy of this (although you would only want to play it on an attack turn). This card can also single-handedly Level up Nocturne, which means that we can now make decks built around Nocturne's Level 2 Ability that don't include Targon. For example, I want to try out an SI/Freljord deck with Poros that makes the entire enemy board have 2 or less Power by playing multiple 1 cost Poros alongside Nocturne.

  • Seven New Runeterra Cards Revealed by Riot! Demacia, Shadow Isles, and Targon Cards Including 2 New Landmarks

You're right about Pesky Specter, but the Landmark is way different than Duskfallen Aviana. The Landmark will always get you and your opponent the same number of discounts, while Duskfallen Aviana almost always gives your opponent a discount and the person who plays it almost never gets a discount. As a Landmark, it is also likely to stay on the board while Duskfallen Aviana doesn't stick around for long. Overall, the comparison doesn't really make much sense.

  • New Targon Landmark - Targon's Peak

It looks like they really want to appeal to the casual players of Hearthstone. The people that love their Yogg stuff. It might expand the game's appeal to a larger crowd but it will scare away the people that dislike that kind of uncontrollable RNG.

  • Portal to Méa - Custom Hearthstone Expansion - 145 Cards!

Azeroth has long been in a great war between two major factions, the Horde and the Alliance. In recent years things have escalated to where many in Azeroth can no longer survive. They call upon Netherspite and Chronormu to create a portal to a new land, away from the conflict. That is where they find Méa. A land rich with wildlife and resources, where the water gives many soothsaying powers.

This is my first 135+ card expansion which I finished a while ago, but recently went under some maintenance as I wasn't happy with a decent number of the cards. Most of the art used in this expansion is from the card game Faeria, which has an excellent concept, but bad monetary system.

The new keyword introduced in this expansion is Foresee:

The cards would show up in a discover-like interface, where the button normally used to temporarily hide the cards would stop showing them to you.

Not a new concept in customhearthstone, but I feel the way it has been used has been to the fullest. Note: Dormant and Reborn are both used in this expansion.

I want to say a big thank you to many people who helped make this expansion, Steli, Wass, Spaceturtle and Aflag are but a few.

Although this was mostly a solo project where I created 141/145 cards, Aflag was the creator of: Jaspar, Exploration, Sky Surveyor and Chief Shonaka.

So here are the 145 cards, feedback would be appreciated and anything you think could be improved! (Included in this expansion is my favourite custom card that I've made, bet you won't be able to guess which it is!) For reference this expansion was technically finished first before AoO.

  • New Targon Spell - Moonlight Affliction

This thing can be enabled very easily through Fading Memories. It also affects champions. Seems pretty scary.

  • New Shadow Isles Card - Evershade Stalker

Strong card for sheer aggression but it's completely worthless if you fall behind. It could be very helpful for Hecarim decks.
