  • Legendary

    A random golden Legendary is included in every only the large preorder bundle. Was this the first time you opened the game since the expansion release? If yes, then you just got that one. You did say you preordered.

    Edit: sorry, my mistake.

  • Standard needs a viable neutral silence card.

    As someone that has played a lot of druid this year, which includes quest druid, gonk druid, taunt druid, lucentbark druid. I can say that Keeper of the Grove is not a card one should EVER consider putting into their deck unless they invent a time machine first. After you play your 4 mana 2/2 against one big paladin minion, they'll just play liadrin or some other dumb shit and beat you down with that instead. All while you waste 4 mana to silence a minion and summon a 2/2 they can easily ignore on board when they resume to hit you in the face, while laughing at you all the way until you hit that concede button.

    The only viable option for silence is mage or shaman or demon hunter(because demon hunter is supposed to be good at everything don't ya know). And blizzard has made sure of that. tinkmaster overspark is one of my favorite cards and he's a meme.

    Alternatives would be using [Hearthstone Card (sylvanas) Not Found] and Play Dead and Nine Lives in wild https://hsreplay.net/replay/dNgxu2NaUp7c2fwrFda2YB#turn=5b

    Well I did say Keeper of the Grove was not great. To be honest, it wouldn't help against libram pally even if it was still a 2/4, not because it would be a bad card, but because druid removal is utter garbage and silencing 1 thing isn't going to get you very far in that match-up if you cannot clear multiple big minions.

    I do think you are undervaluing the ability of rogue and priest to deal with libram pally though. I admit I'm not an expert on priest, but I have a lot of experience making libram paladins cry just by running some hard removal in my rogue decks, e.g. 2x Coerce, Flik Skyshiv and 2x Sap. True, none of those are actual silences, but there are few cards in the game against which they don't do just as well.

    Also, for the record, there is at least 1 thing Demon Hunters are bad at: buffing minions. That Redeemed Pariah achievement would be a whole lot easier if they were any good at it. Then again, perhaps this is just the same as saying Demon Hunters are strong against silence... Hmm.

    I'm out of this game. It's hard (an expensive) to have a good competitive deck of the class that you are more comfy playing with, you revamp the reward system into a one that doesn't seems fair enough and also you are giving to us cards from previous expansion? I feel totally dumb giving Blizzard my money and having back this kind of treats, honestly. That deal will be a good one if it was offered 5 months ago, not now. Why I should waste my money on a different set thant the current one where is it supposed to be the current meta based on?
    Scholomance has good cards to offer but most of the decks are made around new cards like the 4 old gods and corrupted ones. This kind of offers should be, if offered "out of time", at least with current year packs. Offering now scholomance packs is like offering Outlands one, can be interesting for some people but doesn't fit the current needs of the people. My feel (and I see that lots of people thinks the same) is that Hearthstone is runned by people that seems is no listening its customers.

    I think that year of the phoenix is the last for me, that's the last straw. I totally loved this game and I expensed big amounts of money on this but every day I feel more and more playing in a pay2win game instead a free2play one.

    This is m first idea this week, strongly inspired by The Curator and Ringmaster Whatley, however I tried to use some tags which were not used for thhis effect previously. It would be best if I would be able to make a card that draws totem, elemental and demon, buthad to cut demon or totem, because these have no class which could take use of both, so decided to replace demon with murloc and received this shaman card. Its statline is -1/-1 in comparison to Whatley, which is -1/-1 in comparison to Curator. Its Cost is -2 Mana in comparison to Whatley which is -2 mana in comparison to Curator, also Whatley losed a positive keyword from curator, as well as tag. That's why I gave my card in comparison to 0 keyword of Whatley, a negative keyword, and tag which would quite differ from Curator, for he has tag from those he doesn't draw, and my card has tag from those which he draws.

    Also, iI'm gonna give some feedback:

    You already submitted, so I can only congratulate you for choosing the card which in my opinion is better.

    @linkblade91

    Show Spoiler
    In my opinion the hunter secret is a bit underpowered, so I would rather go with paladin one. I'm not sure which effect i do like more, but I also would consider making Strength Competition as a paladin Secret, I think paladins can have strength competition just as much as hunters. Also, I find 'Clashing Rivarly' a better name than 'Competitive Nature', for 1. It is more dynamic, what works well with the art you chose, like you realy see them clash. 2. 'Competitive Nature' is a bit too similar to Competitive Spirit

    @fungusABao

    Show Spoiler
    I like 'Come and Enjoy!' more. This seem to be quite good. Anway, the card looks like in its best balance point, so if you do not want to scrap this idea and go with something else, you seem to be good to go.

    @DavnanKillder

    Show Spoiler
    You do not have to make additional token for combined effect, for no other choose one card use it, except for the transforming minions. The card seem to be quite well balanced, but there's small typo in the main card: it should be 'reduce' instead of 'reduces'. The whole idea is not bad, but I think I already saw cards more likely to win in this competition, however you can always go with  it and see how it will turn out.

    @shaveyou

    Show Spoiler
    I prefer Pet Trainer. It looks pretty good, balanced and well designed. Also, is Circus Elekk supposed to have vanilla watermark?

    @grumpymonk

    Show Spoiler
    I would either go with Arlizz Spellweaver or Freak Show. My only concern with Arlizz is that it may go out of control with 0-cost spells you can have in deck after playin two copies of Incanter's Flow, and the card seem to be strong, even if it only draws spells that costs (1) or more.

    @Demonxz95

    I have to say that I'm not realy a fan of Clithia, tbh.

    @DestroyerR

    Show Spoiler
    I actualy prefer Magic Show, it is actualy one of my favourite designs in this competition so far, but I am only one person, so if many said you it's not good, then maybe it's not good. On the other hand Presto! is not realy appealing to me, it's a bit complicated, but it may be good to wait for more feedback

    @anchorm4n

    Show Spoiler
    Let me be honest with you - I think the highest mana cost you can give to this is 2. Like, of course it's for combo decks, but it's still nothing more than draw 1 card, However, I don't think I'm the fan of this.

    @Menacing Bagel

    Show Spoiler
    This seem to be quite too strong in my opinion, but im not sure. Also, I'm not a fan of art, it seem to be quite too dark, so people may rate this lower for it is not eyecatching. However, I think that it's not hard to find a better Blitzcrank image. The effect is not bad, but also not the best design in my opinion, maybe you could do some tweaking on the effect wich will happen after the draw, so it will not look like some extra, because it's quite too random now, I guess this is supposed to work with big minions, but on the other hand it prevents you from playing them, so I would advise some less backfiring effect.

    @KANSAS

    Show Spoiler
    I don't realy like cards which interact with rarities, so I'm  not a fan of High Justice Grimstone. Expert Tracker seem realy good, and as far as I know you already used that idea in Manual of Monsters, with quite succes, even if you didn't manage to get first place, so it's quite obvious that it is well designed.

    @AnAngryBadger

    Show Spoiler
    I like the flavour of this, maybe its tad strong. Anyway, I realy like this idea.

    Today I started hearthstone and got a free golden legendary as a reward for the 40$ darmoon fair bundle. I think they are trying to keep player by offering them cards. I did buy the 40$ bundle but no golden was included.

    Did someone also got a free legendary?

  • Give C'Thanks Bundle Now Live in the Hearthstone Shop - 2 Random Darkmoon Faire Legendaries + 20 Scholomance Packs

    This bundle is some really good value, but no c'thanks. Would have considered buying it IF blizzard treated us better. They rushed so hard to get this out, that they didn't spell "legendary" correcly in the bundles description... And this bundle came during the mess that is the duals tournament, and the chat was FULL of complaints about the pass and stuf... This bundle is HORRIBLY timed and truly shows that blizzard genuinly only cares about out money...

  • Is control dying? Serious question...

    So I just played a game in Rank Wild against a very powerful handbuff Warrior as a reno quest mage. I barely won after he had destroyed my board, handled my Reno, and revealed my ice block. I played double [Hearthstone Card (TimeWarp) Not Found] into double Kazakus 5 damage and polymorph Spell. I played Zephrys the Great and after all of that... he still had insanely handbuffed minions I had to deal with! I got lucky I pulled and played Devolving Missiles along with with Solarian Prime (and no I didn't have Astromancer Solarian in my deck.) Solarian Prime then casted Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron...

    I won the game with the most insane good luck but I knew in my heart of hearts that the handbuff warrior is back and it is VERY strong. (Rank 4 Wild)

    All this to say, control decks do exist some days are better than others.

    I hate getting these quests as I don't play arena or BGs.

    I with they had a an option in the settings.

    Something like:

    Preferred Game Modes:

    • Ranked
    • Battlegrounds
    • Arena
    • Duels

    So the above sample, the bullet points will be tick boxes. When a box is not ticked, the quest related to that game mode would not spawn. So BG player will unlikely get ranked quests, and a ranked player will unlikely get BG quests.

    I would be happy with the ability to reroll each quest a single time a day instead of one a day. Other games with this system have this paladins for instance.

    Haven't seen that Battlegrounds quest yet so I doubt it. The Arena one I've had two weeks in a row, but been lucky enough to reroll it into something better.

    I do dislike the idea of "reach this result"-type of quests though, they can get incredibly tilting when RNG decides you're not completing them. Not to mention that the Arena one requires paying gold...

    When this lab first went live, there are a few bugs with the lab.

    1. Although the instructions say only singleton decks are allowed, the client only required that the deck include a single copy of a single champion.
    2. Several players are reported scenarios where the game locked up.
    3. If you discarded your champion through a card like Poro Cannon or Get Excited!, it would spawn the Jailer/Jailed Champion and give you a path for summoning your champion without ever playing it (e.g., cheating out Aurelion Sol)
    4. Tri-region decks were allowed

    They were patched the next day to eliminate these exploits.

    Could be, who knows, my faith in Blizzard is negative atm, they might just do that to push people into spending money in buying arena tickets/battleground perks.

  • Standard needs a viable neutral silence card.

    Quote From AngryShuckie

    I have thought about this before (mostly regarding ways to deal with Rattlegore but it is the same story for librams), and if you actually break it down by what each class has it looks fine overall:

    So 5 of the 10 classes have viable ways to remove librams, druid has a more versatile alternative to the Owl, and the rest have a neutral option if they feel they need it. That sounds like good class design to me.

    Just as some classes have to accept they won't get strong AoE or healing, some classes have to accept they won't have strong silence options. Whether the rest choose to use their silences (or equivalent) is up to them, but that is not at all the same as there being "no viable silence card in Standard".

    As someone that has played a lot of druid this year, which includes quest druid, gonk druid, taunt druid, lucentbark druid. I can say that Keeper of the Grove is not a card one should EVER consider putting into their deck unless they invent a time machine first. • Legend help

    Lots of great tips already - my own $0.02:

    • Is there still time? Yes, you need to win 10 more games than you lose from here. If you have a 55% win rate and play 100 more games (17 per day), then on average you will get there. That's quite a lot, but 2 hours per day (maybe a bit more over the weekend)  may get you there.
    • Averages are averages, not guarantees. So even if you have this good 55% win rate, you may or may not get there, which is something you have to accept. That's variance for you.
    • Accept that you will lose some games, sometimes a few in a row, frustrating as it may be. Even at 55% winrate, the statistical average of losing all 3 of your next games is 10%. Don't get upset if it happens, because it's bound to happen somewhere!
    • Stick with pure paladin. Every deck has its bad match-ups but pure paladin is a good deck and you are comfortable with it. Switching to another good deck will cost you a few % due to being less familiar with it.
    • Bad matchups are bad, but not necessarily unwinnable. Mulligan aggressively and even if you don't hit gold, your opponent may also draw badly or misplay due to nerves. Certainly don't give up right away, not even mentally! Every unnecessary loss drops your win-rate by 2% over 100 games (it's now a L instead of a W)
    • Keep calm - again, to avoid unnecessary losses due to misplays. But more importantly, in the end it's just a video game that you play as a pastime to relax and have fun (well, at least that was the idea, right? ;) ). Your life doesn't depend on reaching legend and there's always next month.

    GLHF!

  • Disconnections

    Had a game today against a token druid, the moment i was about to win the game crashed. Reloaded the game expecting to lose after all the work it took me to get the W, but when i reloaded it turns out i won. My druid opponent had crashed too.

  • Is control dying? Serious question...

    Quote From fractl

    I'm a control player, period, and have been playing since G&G, and the whole card-vomiting paradigm is extremely boring to me as well.  Not that aggro didn't always exist, but, as has been said, things have definitely changed over the years.

    I've always figured the allure of aggro was the ability to climb ladder fast and gather gold quickly as well, not to mention that it's one of the various aspects of the game's design that minimizes the difference in win rates between the best and the worst players, in order, frankly, to keep more people playing, as opposed to someone losing at a rate commensurate with their skill level and leaving the game out of petulance or frustration.

    But, over the past few days, I've begin to question this.  I mostly just play casual, because, hey, it's a silly game that's fun and attaining higher ranks accomplishes nothing that's particularly meaningful in life.   I play for fun, and play control in casual, and I thought that the new XP system, even if it's less rewarding, would result in less people playing aggro in casual, since your rewards are based on total time spent, as opposed to winning quick games by vomiting out lots of small cards.

    But I was wrong.  Tons of people are playing aggro in casual.  Sure, everyone's free to do whatever they want, but I personally don't get it.  If you're getting the same rewards playing more interesting and challenging decks, why not do that?  I'm not saying aggro doesn't demand some skill, but it's really a lot of people just doing the same simple things over and over, without the variation in game play evident with more complex decks.

    I suppose some will say that people just enjoy winning, as opposed to being challenged.  As I said, to each his own, but, to me, that philosophy is just... bleh.  I just don't see how it doesn't get boring, unless it ends up morphing in an OCD ritual.  Personally, I'd rather just do something else rather than play that way.  The point being that, if few people are willing to play control in casual, even if there is no difference in rewards, then maybe the game has indeed become something too different for me.  Oh well.

    I used to be like this until demon hunter came out, and casual mode was flooded with aggro demon hunter spam.

    People say winning in hearthstone is fun, but to me it never has been. It's not fun to cross the finish line or see the final scene of a movie. It's more about how i got there. And if i play cards on curve without thinking about them it's not fun to play. Going face is not fun to me. Making the perfect defile combo, gonking my opponent when i have 5 health remaining. Using nozari or reno when my opponent thinks they've won and won't stop emoting. that's fun. I get upset when i do all that and still lose, but it's easily forgettable in the next game. But it's straw on a camel's back. There's only so many aggro demon hunters or token druids, lackey rogues, or totem shamans in casual mode i can take. They should just separate the two categories. Gate aggro off to ladder where it belongs and leave casual mode for testing out decks and making fun combos.

    With all of the mess and issues from the Rewards Track this seems like a bad time to offer 20 packs from a previous expansion no matter the price. It just seems like money grasping for me. They can't be assed to do something about the Rewards Track so offer us a Bundle? Hell.No.
