Grim Rally was good, in part because of its synergy with eggs, but mainly because buffs aren't widely available in Warlock, so any board-wide buff is really powerful in Zoolock. It wouldn't take much in terms of discard synergy to make this about as good, and you can always just play it on with an empty hand for the buff.
So, warriors love rush minions, which means this guy should find a home somewhere.
But that would require a deck that has consistent rush minions, and the meta right now focuses on weapons, bombs or OTK.
we'll need a few strong rush minions to see this guy on a competitive deck. I guess they did show off that elephant that is an 8/8 and rush if it's corrupted...
Arathi Weaponsmith on steroids. Both the 6/6 taunt and the 3/3 weapon are underwhelming by themselves, but together they can be good... in arena, the same place Arathi Weaponsmith finds a home. Seems too un-synergistic with the things Paladins do in constructed to see play.
E.T.C., God of Metal seems quietly awesome. With tools like Restless Mummy, Scion of Ruin, and Playmaker, this is plainly built for a midrange Warrior focused on self-harm with a Galakrond package. It's very easy to pair E.T.C with a bunch of rush minions and simultaneously clear the enemy board and pressure the enemy's health. Whether or not E.T.C is needed to make that deck good is unclear, but it does enough for very little mana that I'd expect any deck like that to run it.
Honestly, a 5 mana 5/5 with Divine Shield by itself is already pretty solid.
This is also quite good for Y'Shaarj and N'Zoth. After you play either old god, you've spent all of your mana and you might be defenseless, so this allows you to put up a strong defense after those two gods.
This could be a nice win condition for decks with lots of rush minions. There isn't a deck like that right now but this could create a new archetype. Playmaker likes this. There are a lot of cards that haven't been revealed yet and there's people already dismissing it.
rush minion not minion with rush it has to have rush as a keyword..
seems like an otk piece if warrior had a card that summoned a lot of rushers like hunter or DH.. then maybe.. but even the "combo" in the video seemed underwhelming.
sick name/art/entrance sadly we probably won't see much of this unless it's broken.
The rush cards in standard should be good enough to make this work. Drawing this card at the right time is going to be the concern. I could see it being used in the Galakrond package but I think there is a missing piece to put this over the top.
It seems like an alright card for Aggro Warrior to bypass taunt, but I feel like too many conditions need to be met as is. There will probably be more rush support, but he seems weak atm. Also, as much as I love seeing ETC make his return I was hoping he would be a bit bigger and more bombastic. Oh well.
Wonder if they ever are gonna make discard targetable across the board like in runeterra... it feels so much better over there here.. there will always be feelbad moments... even with the "supposed targeting"
They might, they already made it kinda targetable by duel hero power, maybe they will change it with classic revamp in April altogether
if you look across the board on hand buffing or hand selecting cards, you will notice that no card in herthstone:
1. selects more than one target
or
2.selects a target that is a card in hand..
I looked it out and runeterra is also a game programmed in unity (the same engine as HS) so it's NOT an engine limitation to multiple targeting or targeting your hand..
you see many cards saying "random" just because they didn't ever want to fix those self induced limitations they made to the game..
those limitations introduced a lot of deck restrictions and rng to the game cause you really want to hit those targets
It is important to remember that you can control the targeting if you manipulate the board state or hand state, which is a layer of strategy/skill not present when you can target manually.
yes that's what I meant in the last line.. for example this card you want to design your deck/hand to have a "discard lover" as the lowest cost card in hand.

well.. mindflayer effect is kinda delayed, and this one silence the target (preferably the enemy) too.
C'Thun, the Shattered
The amount of decks this'll be shoved in on day 1...
E.T.C., God of Metal
feels like a win more card and not a win con card
Darkmoon Rabbit
Imagine if this card turns out to be really good and everyone actually has to think about their minion placement

minor nitpick, but I thought ETC was on lead guitars, not drums.
Still, that's a neat legendary
New Hunter Spell - Don't Feed the Animals
T3 Animal CompanionHuffer into T4 Corrupted Don't Feed the Animals double Wolpertinger. Aggro Hunter's mid-game dream right there.

This is the theme for most corrupted cards..
but in this case the corrupted version is quite a big deal it's also a taunt + divine shield for N'zoth on the mech slot!

Yeah, now the opponent needs to deal not only with 2, but 4 8/8 divine shielded taunts. They really could come up with something new..
