Hmm... Maybe I got the Spellburst effect wrong, but doesn't it mean that you can just leave this weapon equipped without attacking to benefit its effect for the rest of the game (until it eventually gets destroyed)?
If you want to steal a minion with 2 or less attack, then Cabal Shadow Priest is more reliable. And the 2 mana difference doesn't matter a whole lot since with Cabal Acolyte you also have to spend a spell.
If you want a 2/6 taunt that gets rid of a random enemy minion, then Convincing Infiltrator is better since it can get rid of bigger things. And the 1 mana difference doesn't matter a whole lot since with Cabal Acolyte you also have to spend a spell.
I just don't see why you would play this card over any of the other cards that do similar things.
Immunity is extremely powerful since you don't have to worry about health at all you could clear a bunch of taunts or wipe off a ton of tokens. Its like rallying cry or whatever except much much better since he can last for more than one turn, immunity keeps them at the HP they start at, it effects your hero.
My understanding of spellburst is that the weapon (or minion) doesn't have to still be in play for the effect to resolve. Once played, the keyword is activated and the next spell, whenever it may be, gains the effect. The only real question is what happens if counterspell is active.
Im not sure if you talk about opponent using Maiev or you, but if the former, wouldnt that basically help you?:)
I assume he meant using maiev on this card to set up an otk in 2 turns
I guess so, but the core problem is, this needs to survive, so if it already would, you might as well do the OTK right there, but buying yourself 2 more turns (more mana) could be the way to go, yes.
Super snowballey if she can start getting off, I could see this being run as a soft taunt/ build your own Malygos. Since mage can possibly barf up 10 spells or something in a turn with their cost reduction, evocation, etc I think this could be powerful.
Oh and I guess this is a Paladin card too. Paladin has a decent array of spells that can be played on curve which is not too bad, but the real question is if this works with Librams after they've been discounted. Does a 4 mana Libram of Hope summon a 4/4 or an 8/8? And what happens if you play The Coin?
Wild Quest Mage just got even more broken. Cool. Pls cap Sorcerer's Apprentice reduction to "no less than 1 mana". And do the same with Mechwarper , while we at it.
I kind of like it the fact that the Spellburst can be saved a few turns with this. Weapon removal is less frequent than minion removal. You have to play Spellburst minions together with a spell or otherwise you won't get any value out of it. This could be played on curve.
Not sure if that makes this any good, because the effect is not too strong.
Depending on your answer, this card is either a niche no one's thinking about, or completely trash.
Yes, the taunt student can be an epic 10/10 or even a respectable 5/5 but then you'd have to go with a 2/2 weapon that probably doesn't do anything on curve, and then you'd have to play a big spell to justify it. Oh, and you have to do this before it gets oozed, which is practically in every deck.

Spellburst should definitely trigger after any spell is played. There are Spellburst cards where this would be intended (the new AoE Spellburst f. e.)
New Priest Minion - Cabal Acolyte
Looks quite strong, nice body, fine effect, taunt is always a plus. Yeah seems solid I'd run it if I played priest.

The difference between those two cards has always bothered me. Now this card's mechanic is just salt in the wound!
Mozaki, Master Duelist is a New Mage Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion
Not enough support in standard and too slow for wild.

Formerly Darth, now just Maul
New Paladin & Warrior Weapon - Ceremonial Maul
Kinda surprised this is an Epic card. Could have easilly been Rare. It is a cute card, but not sure if constructed worthy.

It fits paladin because its CEREMONIAL, and it fits warriors because its a MAUL
Genius.

Just play the coin before the weapon. T4: Coin + Maul + Air Raid = 2/2 weapon + 2x 1/1 with Taunt + 2/2 with Taunt. Not that bad.
Ceremonial Maul is a New Warrior & Paladin Weapon Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion
it also fits warrior because it summons a taunt minion!

Oooh, i missed it. You are right, it is cool in Big War
Ceremonial Maul is a New Warrior & Paladin Weapon Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion
Ok, Big Warrior is on the menu. Troublemaker, Rattlegore, The Boom Reaver, Dimensional Ripper, and now this. The stars align too perfectly for this to not be the archetype Blizzard planned for Warrior.

The paladin flavor is there because it's similar to Spirit of the Tiger and it fits warrior because.....um.....it's a weapon!

Doesn't have to be big spell... you can just follow it up with a 4 mana spell on curve... Or you can just activate it with Brawl
New Paladin & Warrior Weapon - Ceremonial Maul
Can this replace Truesilver Champion, Underlight Angling Rod, Wrenchcalibur, Ancharrr, or Livewire Lance?

Not that impressive to me honestly
