Hey everybody! This is my first entry into the card design competition, and I'm pretty excited. What do you think?

I think I like the first one better, and I'm not sure about the wording on the second one. Murloc should be capitalized and I forgot the period, but I can fix that in my next iteration. Feedback is appreciated.

Welcome! Glad to hear you're excited and we are excited to have you here!

I have to agree that I like the first one more. I'd change the wording a bit, and you need some periods and caps.

    1. I'd suggest to put "3" instead of "three" in this case
    2. Drop the "friendly" as it is redundant. There would not be enemy Murlocs in your deck.
    3. You already caught the capitalization for Murloc and the missing period
    4. Make sure you also have a period at the end of the deathrattle effect.

Overall great first idea for your first card competition!

Yeah, Idols are horrible, the games take forever.

  • What kind of design is that?

Cards with so few counter options that are exclusive to certain decks take a lot of the fun away from the game for me.  I can deal with my losses (they are many lol), but when a card gets thrown down and my decks counter options are extremely limited (i.e. I am playing Demacia/Freljord and can only hope I've drawn purify), I just surrender and move on to the next game.  I would like to look back at my plays and say, "Maybe if I did this or that differently, maybe next time.  Lesson learned!"  All I get with cards/combinations like this is a completely helpless feeling which isn't fun at all.

  • How to handle burn decks?

Basically: anything that heals.  Direct damage spells are relatively low-value in this game, so even if you are just managing to undo what they did they will run out of gas quick.

Seems way too powerful, in wild token druid filling a board with 2/2s makes your mana crystals go away.  You should make it cost more.

The name should be "uprooted" not "unrooted". Aside from that it looks fine.

Welcome to our side of things :D

I also like the first one better, because the other card is just the original with a "Recruit 3 Murlocs" Battlecry tacked on. The first iteration captures the "I'm a Murloc that grows powerful" feel but does so in a new way. It's a little weird to be borrowing Gral, the Shark's effect before he ever existed, but I'm trying to be lenient lol. This is also way better than Gral, but Gral kind of sucks so whatever.

    RNG its HS new Meta.

  • How to handle burn decks?

Basically any slow Shadow Isles deck does phenomenally against them. Vile Feast, Withering Wail and Grasp of the Undying absolutely ruin their day.

I personally recommend using Corina control. It's relatively easy to play and really strong.

The current iteration runs both Vi and Elise. I personally don't have Vi yet so I still run the beta version with just Elise and it's been working just fine for me. I don't think I've lost to any Nox/P&Z deck (the most common burn aggro deck) yet.

Did you fail to notice the unyielding spirit on the card? It can't be damaged or killed. It's a stupid card with very few counters. Recall, obliterate or silence...that is it. Also since it's a champion, silence isn't even an option.

Oh my bad. I haven't seen that card in play yet so I wasn't aware that that's what the icon indicates.

I'm not too sure about the card myself to be honest. It really feels like a "if you can't answer this you lose" card. And it being an 8 mana burst spell (if I'm right) with very limited counters it seems quite strong. Especially considering Demacia Bannermen being as strong as they are and easily able to slot in a copy, makes the card all the more toxic.

Pretty much how I feel about it. It's off-meta currently and one of it's (very few) counters is decently common, which is will of Ionia. However, I personally don't feel this excuses the card. If you're playing a deck that isn't Ionia your options become....basically zero against it and depending on who you use it on, it can just about be an instant lose.

Off meta or not I don't think it's right for ANY card to have so few answers. First off, since you can't silence champions and that is one of the few options you have against the card, I feel like it shouldn't be able to be applied to champions. It needs further changes, frankly I think the "Can't be killed" Line is complete overkill and it be fine at not being able to take damage.

Either way, I'm in no way a balance expert. I just don't like the card, I don't think it should exist as is and I hope it never ever becomes a main stay in any meta deck.

We heard you like random cards!

Occasionally.  If it's fun.  WITHIN REASON!

  • Random on Random on Random - This Week's Tavern Brawl is A Chance Encounter!

In short: different brawls suit different people. I personally use Tavern Brawls as a place to avoid metas, so am quite happy to have the super random ones where I can just let Hearthstone happen in front of me. It's dumb and shouldn't be taken seriously of course, but it can be fun nonetheless.

Conversely, I barely touch most Brawls where you build your own deck and a small number of strategies are clearly superior to the rest. I have enough of that in constructed.

    Ugh, no... why? Why!?!?!?!

At least it's not Valeera's Bag of Burgled Spells or Idols of Azeroth... But still, this one is probably in my top 5 least favorite brawls.

  • What kind of design is that?

It's a two-card, 11 mana combo that's vulnerable to one of the most commonly played cards in the game (i.e Will of Ionia).

Not saying you're wrong to be frustrated, but this seems like an off-meta meme to me. Best thing to do is move on.

    Hey out of cards,

    I created this thread :

    https://outof.cards/forums/hearthstone/deck-building/4080-finished-climb-to-legent-with-odemians-bomb-warrior-have-a-look

People asked questions and I wanted to reply but I never managed to reply to the people I wanted. For example, if I click reply under Marega's post (1st one) my comment will appear (at least on my screen) as a reply to Bersak's post (last comment when I replied).

I tried to deleted and repost many times until I just gave up.

I use Firefox on windows 10.

    Hi, Gwavana,

"Reply" is a bit misleading as to what it does, or rather what it does in Forums. Forums have a different structure than Comments (articles, decks etc.). When you reply in a Forum Thread, that post will always be last (=newest) no matter what and there are no nested conversations, that wouldnt work and it wouldnt make sense for that anyway.

If you want to reply to a specific comment use Quote button, that way the comment will be added to your post and the reader and everyone else will know which post are you replying to ;-)

As Xarkkal said, for Forums, it is better to use Quote instead of Reply, so everyone who reads your post knows what is going on.

I will add a little to this too. If a message you're quoting is getting too long, you can use the "Spoiler" button to hide some of the text. I hid your original text in this comment as I'm Quoting Sinti, who Quoted you. Just helps keep things a little cleaner.
