Is it weird that illidan is a battlegrounds hero and a basic hero? And will he be replaced by that one other demon guy who is replacing illidan's card?
On EU, I already had Battle.Net running and the first time I started Hearthstone, it was still on the old patch. But after I exited the game, the update started and the next time I opened the game I got the HoF and other notifications.
I opened two Classic packs (from this week's and last week's Tavern Brawl) and got all commons I was missing plus two rares I didn't have yet, so it seems to be working. One of the commons I got was Mana Wyrm, which I disenchanted all my copies of when it got nerfed, so the "received" counter doesn't seem to work retroactively (or at least not far back). But I assume that if I'd disenchant it now, I wouldn't immediately open it again.
By the way, Classic isn't going to get Demon Hunter cards for a long time and Priest got their new ones in this patch, so I don't think there is a need to wait longer, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
While I personally am not losing any dust, I am sure there are plenty of people who dusted these cards after the nerf refunds left, and they are losing dust.
Just a note if you don't care about collecting golden cards and prefer dust. Now that the Hall of Fame has happened, and assuming you have your Priest leveled to 60, you can dust both golden copies of Northshire Cleric and Divine Spirit and just keep the normal ones, since those cards moved out of the Basic set. Easy 200 dust right there!
I'm ashamed to admit that until seeing this blown up art of Leeroy, I thought he just wore really weird orange glasses. Of course, his face would be skin colored... why did I never question this?
Indeed. The system looks at the cards which you've opened, not the cards which you currently have.
There are prolly going to be players in a few months who, not understanding how pack openings work, disenchant an alright card for the dust and then wonder why it's not coming back. Frankly, I wish they'd coded normal pack openings by looking at your current collection and just restricted nerfed cards somehow whenever they came around. That would be much more intuitive and helpful.
Does it not take into account golden copies? I had no normal Pilfer cards but two golden ones and it immidiately gave me two normal ones in the classic pack.
You got 1600 from dusting Boom, and now you're paying 1600 to craft him. So the nerf and buff negate themselves. Personally, I'd wait on crafting him back, to let others experiment and see if he's viable in Wild.
Is this live in ALL regions, can you please clarify?
Furthermore, i assume it is still worth holding on to Classic packs, so that new Priest and Demon Hunter cards are released first.
It should be live for everyone when the update reaches them, yes.
Also, the new Priest cards are coming right alongside this update, so there's no need to wait. Demon Hunter has not been added into the Classic set yet: that will happen some time in the future, when they pull cards from the Initiate set and elsewhere to create the "Classic" set for the DH.
The update is already live on PC (at least in EU but I assume that's the case for most regions if not all of them), when you first login after the update you'll se a huge list of cards changed, hofed and added to the classic set (this means that the new classic priest cards are already obtainable!) and at the end a popup lets you know that the duplicate protection is now active so you can't be wrong.
now's a good time to see the dupe protection in action as you'll need to craft/pack the new priest classic cards anyway. roughly 20 packs should get them all.

Today is about all other rarities though ;)

Correct. When a card is "collected" you can't open it again until everything from that rarity in that card set has been also set to "collected".

We have a front page post going out about this shortly: he's replacing Cobalt Guardian :(

Just found this guy in Bob's Tavern after the update. I don't think it was revealed before now so I thought I'd share.

Zephrys the Great has Been Updated to be Greater Than Ever
Very welcome chages and updates to this great card, many times i was not being offered the best possible card for any given situation.

I have disenchanted Cold Blood back when it was nerfed and never opened it in a pack since. This was only Classic common card I was missing.
I've just opened a Classic pack and both copies of Cold Blood were in it.
Nice!

Can't wait for that juicy HoF dust to flow in my deposit.
(And dust those golden Shadowform that make me feel dirty)

Could be coincidence but that's a stretch.

They will literally introduce a Charge minion that makes all your attacks bypass taunts. In a class voted to kill you as fast as possible.

Fun and Interesting Combos
Not sure if this has been discussed anywhere else, but I came across a fun end game combo in an Expedition yesterday.
It got me to 6 wins (sadly wasn't able to win the 7th).
Ashe + Karma (Enlightened) On Board
+ Winter's Breath
=
GG. A board that gets destroyed with a single spell cast, and if by some magical reason they don't. They can't block with Ashe (leveled up).
Anyhow, what are other fun combos or stuff , that despite it being hard to pull off may be fun win conditions for you guys?
