I somewhat agree with you that it was not as much of an economy change as I expected but it still is a big boost. I was hoping that they would double the disenchanment value of just the common cards from 5 to 10. If they did that as well as no duplicates I would have been overjoyed. Also, consider the potential value of the no duplicate rule when they nerf cards. You will get the nerfed cards over and over again during the nerf period which has the potential to give you a huge amount of dust.
Well, for starters they're jumping the expansions up from 3 to 5 a year so instead of having 5500 gold for this expansion, I'm only sitting on something like 2800. I do like the adventures though - 2500 gold for guaranteed legendaries is definitely worth the cost. The no double epics and rares is a nice bonus, but since I''ll be opening less than 40 packs at launch, not much help for F2P.
With no Voidlord for dhunter, and the fact that there are few useful demons in the list means this will often just be a 7/9 taunt for 9 that summons itself. Not too bad, but not terribly good neither.
Along with Kayn Sunfury, this give DH another way to get around taunts. Seems pretty good. Who cares if you reduce your health to 1 while getting lethal.
DH looks like it wants lots of tempo, and this is big tempo loss. Amazing topdeck in the late game when you're closing in on lethal, but you'd hate this in your opening hand, especially when you want to be using your HP for attack synergy.
Not that great of a card, but it could be useful in Aggro / Tempo'ish Mage that need a little extra burst at the end, this card has a big chance of giving it.
That the tracking checks past stuff is extremely improbable, if not impossible; the only doubt I have is about completing collection then dusting stuff: in that case you can get a 3rd one of the ones you have and have not dusted or 1 or 2 copies of the cards missing ? I hope the latter but to prevent abuse from nerfed card refunds i fear the former.
Even better than a 2-turn freeze because you can go face if you target an enemy taunt minion since it actually disappears from the game for 2 turns. It can also be used to reset hp/divine shield effect of your own minion. Pretty strong card.
Good catch. It doesn't actually specify what happens when you follow the proposed dust farming procedure, i.e. if you have owned everything of a given rarity, does it or does it not prioritise those you don't currently own? I suspect they changed it from how the existing legendary protection works as a subtle way around dust farming, which is fair enough. Clever even since they get to sell it as not being able to open cards you already decided you didn't want and hence dusted them.
Still, I hope is hasn't been tracking this for years. I'd love to guarantee I can open cards nerfed and dusted long ago in a single pack, e.g. get 2x Leeching Poison from the first Frozen Throne pack.
In any case, when the change arrives I'll do science and test how it works on a random common I don't care about.
I know the existing legendary protection sees only what is in your collection. Of course you need all legendaries in a set to test it, so I understand why it is not common knowledge, but if you do have them all and dust one you are guaranteed to see that one as your next legendary.
It can be exploited to try to get a specific golden legendary (I did this for Lord Jaraxxus) but unless you are very lucky it is more useful as a way to fill in nerfed cards.
Now, this doesn't prove it won't work as you suggested for other rarities, but it should be quite quick and safe to test that when it comes into effect.
A few years back, we made changes to how opening card packs works to ensure that every time you got a Legendary card, it would be one that you didn’t already have. Starting March 26, we’re extending this to cards of all rarities!
Once this change goes live, you will no longer receive more than two copies of any Common, Rare, or Epic until you have owned two copies of all cards of that rarity in a set. Crafting a card counts towards acquiring it, and any cards you acquire and later disenchant (whether golden or non-golden) count as well. This means that if you get a card that you don’t want, you can disenchant it and you will not receive it again until you have all cards of that rarity from that set. This change does not affect the overall distribution of rarities in card packs.
So the new protection is supposed to check cards that you disenchanted as well.
New Neutral Minion - Maiev Shadowsong
I'd have preferred a 3/2 for (3).
As it is, for Wild purposes it is just a Combo card, to setup for later usage.

DH won't be running low on resources, that's for sure.

This guy right here
New Demon Hunter Spell - Skull of Gul'dan
Yeah, it's okay without Outcast, but with Outcast, this is insane!
New Demon Hunter Minion - Imprisoned Antaen
Looks REAL good. Even without the awaken effect, potentially fielding a 10/6 on turn 7 and still having all your mana can make for a big swing turn.

He's very similar to Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, and he saw plenty of play. This should be good. I like that DH is getting multiple archetypes.

Good card, dormant is sort of a combination of Stealth / Return to Hand / Silence. Might provide some good combinations.

Glad to see that she will be playable in a number of decks though.
This patch makes me want to quit this game.
My experience since the new patch:
- Oh, everyone is talking about how Mageseekers got buffed. Looks like a solid choice against aggro.
- Lets try out these new Heimer/Lux decks popping up.
- (20 games on ladder later) Damn, i cant win a single game against aggro with these decks.
- (goes back to playing Karma/Lux abusing Monk + Stand Alone)

Maiev Shadowsong - silence rotate? let's print an even stronger neutral "silence" card (for buff purposes, and for taunt passing)
So much for this rotating check.
