  • MARVEL SNAP Announces Series Drop - Series 4 & 5 Cards Moving Down, First Edition Badges

I totally agree. I'm so disappointed that they monetized a game which you can enjoy and compete at a high level without spending anything. I wish that Second Dinner just had Second Jobs. That way, they could work on this game in their spare time and give us everything for free. Why isn't this possible?

The only HS clue I haven't solved is from Week 3: You get a gem, etc.

New idea. Still not 100% sold on it, but I think it's better than my previous ones.

I think the effect is the most interesting and "neat" so far; and the flavor works is on point for the tribes involved.

Regarding balance, my initial feeling is that it's too cheap, but you need a lot of preparation for it to work, and power level nowadays is a lot higher than when I used to play. So I guess it's fine? Dunno, listen to other people in this regard.

    Neoguli
Flavor isn't very lore-appropriate. My main suggestion would be to drop the Naga tag, similar to how [Hearthstone Card (Dragonsnap) Not Found] is classified as just Beast (and not Naga-Beast). Not a fan of the art, either.

    Demonxz95
Hey, I uploaded that watermark to Hearthcards! I love seeing it used!

I like the effect of triggering Battlecries from your hand and I think 7 Mana is quite appropriate, given how strong the effect can be. That said, it makes me wonder a couple things:

    • Do effects that target the user (like Twilight Guardian's) taget Constellos instead?
    • If you're only holding a single Dragon and it has a "hold a Dragon" requirement (again, like Twilight Guardian), does it count itself and always triggers?

I'm guessing the answer for these is yes in both cases, but I wanted to know.

Not a fan of Eversong Reanimater, as it's very similar to Scourge Tamer and I like that one better. However, if you decide to go with it I'd change the artwork. MotLK depicts a clash between the high elves and the undead, so it's weird to have an elf character who sinergizes with Undead.

Regarding Captain Shivers, I think it's your better card and I like it quite a lot. I like how it can be used with just Pirates or just Undead, but it's much better if you combine both (what I tried with Deadmoon Raider, but much better executed).

    moondreamer
Definetly the most flavorful card of the bunch and good candidate for winning. I think you could probably increase the buff to +3/+3, as that's the baseline for buff cards like Blessing of Kings. The art should probably depict a Dragon eating an animal or something (I like this one, and it fits Hearthstone artstyle quite well, even if it's not 100%)

    anchorm4n
The effect is cool, but I have no idea what the flavor could be. Maybe a name contrasting nature and artificial stuff? I don't know.

    BasilAnguis
The artwork isn't the best, as it looks like a WoW screenshot, but the effect has very interesting gameplay. I like how the first Dragon you infuse has its effect guaranteed by virtue of Raszageth being an Elemental, but you need to keep playing Elementals to maintain the effect.

I think 3 damage isn't too much, as you need to do a lot of heavy lifting to maintain the chain going. Plus, 2 damage AoE is very weak at turn 6, even if you can potentially go infinite.

Such a great game, completely ruined by monetisation...

  • Is Marvel Snap Kind Of A Bad Game?

    Quote From Shuriken

There are no such conditions in Hearthstone, or in Legends of Runeterra, or in Gwent, God rest his soul.

You are severely underestimating how long it takes to compile a full collection in Hearthstone, or even to build a specific deck on purpose. [EDIT - many people in HS, especially F2P players, have to build homebrew versions of meta decks because they dont have and cannot get all the cards, just like happens in Snap. The only difference is that Snap NEVER allows you to target a specific card you want, EVER.]

And of course, you are free to have your own preferences of what you want to do in a card game. Apparently you really enjoy a sense of accomplishment from collecting things that are hard to get.

In contrast, most people want to actually play the game with whatever cards they want to use at a given moment. Legends of Runeterra is perfect for that, since you can always target specific cards you want to get, and then you can build a deck with them and actually play it. And by the way, I have to call you out for your comment on LoR being so absurdly easy to get cards. Yes, it's very generous. But even with their generosity, it would still take the better part of a year to have a fully complete collection in LoR, as a F2P player. There are a TON of cards to collect. (When I started it took me about 9 months to fully complete my collection ... and there are a lot more cards now than when I started.)

Seems likke 4-5 card (well 8-10 if you count both series) will trickle down every month from now on from my understanding

  • Prepare for Tribal, Make it Double - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Been playing a lot of WoW recently so here's a perfect character for a dual tribe minion. Bring the storm onto your enemy! And like in the lore, Raszageth and the Primalists infuse dragons with elemental power. I think it fits both tribe's fantasy. Elementals creating a powerful chain of effects each turn and dragons wanting to have dragons in hand, ready to drop next turn. Perhaps 3 damage is too much and should change it to 2.

anchorm4n - I like it mechanically, it's a neat effect. however it should definetly have a mana cost limit similar to Vast Wisdom. However, i don't really feel how this has synergy with either beasts or mechs. Might as well say random minions, doesn't require or encourage tribal decks.

Moondreamer - awesome idea tbh, 10/10 flavor. Gameplay wise tho… no one would play dragons in their decks i think. Super super rarely do you ever want to kill your own minions in HS, cause 2 bodies is almost always better than 1 big guy. If this card were real people would just play beast face hunter i think. Only a rush or charge dragon would make it somewhat playable as intended.

AeroJulwin - neat idea, if we ever get undead rogue. Until then this is only gonna be seen in pirate decks. But it's a good card. As for the reanimator, change the art. Nothing resembling necromancer or scourge or evil there, just some elf. Also i think it's not really a Zombeast then? Maybe just "Stitch together and undead and a beast"

Demonxz95 -  cool idea but i worry slightly about priest and summoning 7 of this dude over and over. One of those cards that has the potential to be nasty if he gets the support for it.

Neoguli - simple enough card, nothing to criticize but also nothing that really impresses me personally. But since a simple "discover stuff, keep all 3 if" card won last time perhaps the wider audience enjoys simpler things.

Wailor - Are there really that many totems that you'd want to copy their effects? Most are just add cards to your hand or buff something. Don't think there is enough reason to play the totem guy.

Really surprised with the choices of the cards that they trickled down. I thought they're gonna go for the less popular cards like maria hill or helicarrier. But damn, She-Hulk and Absorbing Man? They're some of the cards in my top priority to get.

I do still think it takes too long for these cards to trickle down though. Hopefully we'll get more information on that token shop improvement at least before the patch goes live.

Initially I wanted to create a Hunter version of Vast Wisdom, but this looks more interesting. Since you still have to pay the full cost of the first minion, it shouldn't be too much Mana cheating, but stuff like Alleycat into Darkmoon Tonk would be pretty juicy. I'm still debating to reduce the Cost to 2.

Will add artwork and a custom watermark later (and hopefully feedback for you all).

Really neat installment of the description boxes during finalist voting - it was genius to hide them in spoilers so they're there if you need them but don't take up too much space. I really appreciate all the effort your putting into season 6, thanks a lot for that to everyone involved, especially linkblade and Demon!

My point was that you will lose more than you win ... not that you can't climb at all.

    Nobody denies that.

My point is that as long as you don't have all the cards, you are forced to think for yourself how to replace them in the metadecks, based on what is in your collection. And the collections are different for everyone - that's the beauty, so primitive netdeking is impossible. Moreover, the collections are different for everyone not only throughout the entire third pool, but even after it, given how difficult it is to get cards from pool 4 and 5. Yes, at that point, there is already little diversity in the collections, but still. There are no such conditions in Hearthstone, or in Legends of Runeterra, or in Gwent, God rest his soul.

You play a highly competitive decklist or you lose

I mean, I've been playing with nothing but homebrew Galactus (low tier 2) and hazmat (not even on this tierlist) decks for a month or so now and I'm still able to climb the ladder with them. Knowing when and when not to snap is a important skill that you can generally transfer to all of your decks.

You can climb with a negative winrate in Snap, as long as you get a 8-cube win for every 7 or less 1-cube losses.

My point was that you will lose more than you win ... not that you can't climb at all.

Edit - also, you responded so absurdly fast that you're quoting the original version of my post, which was only up for less than 5 minutes before I edited it to be more precise, as follows:

"You play a highly competitive decklist or you have a losing record over time - there is no middle ground."
