  • The Demon Hunter Hero Power - +1 Attack to Hero for 1 Mana

    Quote From Koetti

Wait, does that mean Even DH will never exist? Like, Genn Greymane is absolutely useless in this Class, right?

Also, now that I think about it... What will the upgraded HP be? 1 Mana gain 2 Attack could be pretty Aggro, especially in a Baku Deck.

This was also my first thought about the class eheh.

In a way, Even DH is any DH, just with a suboptimal HP, but many synergic cards already.

  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Battlefiend

    1-cost 2/2 with a +1 when hero attacks.

Demon Hunter hero power gives hero +1 attack for 1 mana.

Very good card, could see it getting nerfed in the future though, perhaps down to a 1-cost 2/1 with same ability. Depends on the balance of the rest of the Demon Hunter cards.

  • Will DH be a 1 set class?

And... What if the class itself is behind paywall? Jk (but not so much).

The idea of adding more class cards makes sense anyway. Although, it'd quite a lot of cards.

As for Wild, the mode already has whole classes that are barely viable, so I guess a full-Standard DH in Wild is ok with the devs.

DH as a class doesn't even support Odd/Even so far, so...

  • Will DH be a 1 set class?

I agree, unless they do some interesting combinations, Demon Hunter is going to be way behind the pack in wild.

One of the few ways I can see them balancing this out, is to literally change some of the Hunter and Warlock cards to be similar to the Karazhan expansion where they could be used in Hunter and Demon Hunter, or Warlock and Demon Hunter. This would give them more viability in wild. Otherwise, they would need to create at least 100 additional cards just to throw into wild for the Demon Hunter, on top of the standard rotation of cards, plus the base deck, plus the 100+ expansion cards. That is a lot for Blizzard to try to do just to add one more class.

I am a little surprised, however, that they didn't decide to go full-force into it and make Monk and Death Knight full-fledged classes as well.

  • Will DH be a 1 set class?

I'm not sure how I feel about the class bundles. I like your idea that it could be used as a gauge for interest, however I feel it is too late in the season to get an accurate depiction.

Personally, I didn't buy the mage bundle because I already had all of the mage cards, and I didn't see the monetary investment worthwhile for what could have been only a couple hundred dust. I have bought the other bigger bundles that felt more worth the cost in the past, but a class-only bundle seems like a bad idea.

I could see them giving us the 30ish cards for a DH base deck, and then using a 1-time story mode to unlock additional cards for the DH, then having DH cards available in the packs with the other 9 classes (usually it is 11 unique cards per class I think). So this expansion I wouldn't be surprised to see well over the 155 that we saw last expansion (I think it was 155) just to balance out the new class with the previous 9.

Thinking of jumping on the new Demon Hunter hype and do something with this.

    Feedback:

Iskar: I feel the effect of giving non-Mech tribes Magnetic is a bit overdone and hard to do thematically, although the effect doesn't seem broken. The art doesn't seem Mechy though. It just looks like a Murloc in a suit. Also, the Classic watermark doesn't belong where Magnetic is used.

Linkblade: I like these cards. Wildfire Dragon has the cooler thematics of the two, although it contradicts the normal Elemental plan of saving them for future turns. As a result, I do think that Living Forge makes more sense as a card overall.

Hordaki: That Curator is surely an interesting way to go about this prompt. I like it. Bronze Mechadrake is neat, although I'm not sure if it would actually be playable (in Constructed that is, because it's pretty good in Arena).

Xarkkal: Feels fine. I like the flavor, although it appears to be a non-Legendary card with a specific name.

Dermostatic: This is simultaneously a hilarious and also very clever way to tackle the prompt. 2 tribes? Nah, ALL THE TRIBES!!! I'm concerned that all of the token spawning Warlocks like to do might make it too powerful since the upgrade is pretty big.

Wailor: I'd say Guardian of the Tides is my favorite of the three. Dragonfang Totem is cool, but it's a bit weak when it only buffs Dragons. And Magnetite Shard has the whole "non-Mech Magnetic" problem of being overdone and hard to make work flavor-wise (although it's actually handled better here than most other cases of this).

  • Will DH be a 1 set class?

This is new territory and I'm sure blizzard wont get everything right off the bat. We'll know a lot more soon enough (starting with if this is even real or not). While unfortunate, blizzard will have a lot of catching up to do for the class and DH archetypes will be limited for some time. We can only hope they do the best they can and we provide the valuable feedback they might have missed during testing.

The other 9 classes aren't going anywhere (and one is even getting a make over allegedly). While the class might be stuck with one or two decks for some months, we wont.

  • The Demon Hunter Hero Power - +1 Attack to Hero for 1 Mana

are we certain its 1 attack to just your hero?

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Consume Magic

    Quote From DoubleSummon

Obvious question but.. what is "outcast" 1 mana silence is kinda bad so it seems to be an easy requirement to fulfill.

can't rate the card otherwise.. 1 mana cycle + effect saw play in priest and it seems good as an aggro class.

We will need to see how hard is to get "outcast"

Outcast cards receive a bonus effect if they are cast while being in the rightmost or leftmost position in your hand.

I'm gonna start participating in these Discussions again now that I have more time lol

Here are my two cards. I've already used Magnetite Shard in a couple comps in Heathpwn.

    I'll give some feedback later.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

oh thats right you had said they were wild cards before derp.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    So freaking close!

The second one is spot on in the barking part, but not on BEING a tree.

Gonna give two clues, they are actually wild right now and they use the same mechanic.

  • Will DH be a 1 set class?

    Pro

TBH, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around adding a class. I've been playing since almost the very start, and I'm so USED to how things are. First off, they'll have to rearrange the nice 3x3 grid for selecting classes/decks (I know, not a big deal really). But more importantly, how does a brand new class catch up to all the class identity (and card library) of the other 9? Someone posted somewhere the idea that DH would suffer in wild due to lack of cards, but what about in standard? DH will be way behind the other classes there too unless Blizzard prints a ton of extra cards. And whatever cards become DH's "basic" set will have to be unlockable through gameplay or for free, like the other classes.

I'm excited for things to get shaken up, but also a bit nervous. Looking forward to answers today!

  • Ashes of Outland is Hearthstone's Next Expansion - New Demon Hunter Class, Priest Getting Overhaul, See the Demon Hunter Cards

    Read better my comment.

I said Power Word or Holy Word.

I purposedly left Shadow Word out because we already have a bunch of them between Standard and Wild (and because I think Shadow Priest is overdone within the class).

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    Aha that clue did it:

Pick Pocket - big smile, sly to steal, "dog" barks

Splitting Festeroot - big minion with poor stats that spawns smaller minions; Tree bark

  • Commander Ledros got his text reworded...????

    Quote From Hellcopter

They probably intended to double nerf it first, but then realized the 9 mana was enough, then too lazy to change the text back.

Hmm I get it now, they are lazy AND incompetent.  Glad thats cleared up.

Not winning any "Cutest card" competitions soon, that's for sure.

@Iskar: I assume this means Murlocs will be able to stick to Mechs, not each other? It's an interesting effect with limited use.

@linkblade91: Living Forge reeks of flavour, which is fantastic. Regardless of potential power, I can absolutely see this being an Epic printed in a real Hearthstone set. That said, some Mechs have Rush/Charge, which is where the power of this card lies. I can already see the Wild highlights with a lucky Finicky Cloakfield.

@Hordaki: Bronze Mechadrake for the win. This is no doubt, a very strong Paladin card with the potential to be a beast in Arena. I was thinking about whether to raise the cost to (10) but decided against because if don't fulfil the condition it's obviously just a plain 4/12. Food for thought perhaps?

@Xarkkal: Slight issue with the fact that this a named character but only a Rare. Aside from that, it's a useful card for synergy in Murloc decks. There are many situations where you wouldn't want a Murloc to die. Perhaps it having Rush is too strong? Instead it could be a (4)-mana 4/3 or not give the +1/+1 bonus.

Here's my card idea this week:

    Murkwater Reanimator

"Blood of demon, scale of murloc, wood of totem and...  hat of pirate?"

He really wants to resurrect your Demons but just isn't that good at reanimating. An interesting tool for boards filled with Imps. Thoughts everyone? I wonder if it should read 'After a friendly Demon dies...' rater than 'Whenever...'

  • Will DH be a 1 set class?

To create a new class only for one standard rotation seems like a lot of wasted effort. It would also disappear entirely in Wild due to the lack of cards. No, I presume Illidan is here to stay unless they tell us otherwise. But yeah, I'm considering the missing Classic cards as well. My guess is that either they will reveal it later, some of them might come as freebies, or DH cards will be limited to Basic + expansions.

  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Ur'zul Horror

having "Resource generating" as a class weakness this card seems valuable to have as something to play early, and play around aoe.

it's a reverse Fire Fly though which just makes this card good.

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Twin Slice

Cheap spell triggers maybe, activating many "if you have atacked this turn" effects 2 damage for 0 mana (with face tanking).. seems solid.

  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Battlefiend

    Quote From Sol

    Poor Blazing Battlemage, already powercrept.

    it's a class card so it's fine.

This card is just good, really auto include in all aggro/midrange DH decks.

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Blade Dance

    Quote From YourPrivateNightmare

.....I'm sorry what? So they basically reprinted the old Savagery for just 2-mana. it's never a dead card because of hero power and with enough attack buffs (or just a weapon) it becomes pretty crazy.

Looks like Demon Hunter will be better at tempo than Rogue.

It's much better than savagery cause this class has actual weapons so it's more a like to Blade Flurry

also the hero power for this class costs 1.

  • Will DH be a 1 set class?

I think the reason why we didn't see any Classic DH cards is because...they don't exist. My guess is that DH is not a true 10th class but a yearly class that will rotate alongside the Year of the Phoenix.
